Celebrated Father’s Day and enjoyed every course. Delicious, hearty portions and well presented.
Not very friendly staff and the food was way more expensive than it was worth.
Great food. Fast and courteous service.
I dined here for the first time and was very satisfied . There is one restaurant by David Burke in DC that I like very much as well. Oysters , scallops ,octopus and desert were superb. Compliment to the chef! The service was great! Will be back.
Short rib pasta is delish.
The vegetable lasagna was pretty good but the cheese could’ve been melted more.
Also love the crab cakes which I’ve had previously. They were on the online menu but I was disappointed they were not on the menu at the actual restaurant.
This was such a disappointment, especially for a David Burke restaurant. We love Orchard Park and we were looking forward to drifthouse. The ambiance was just ok.. Our meal was a huge disappointment. My sons order Filets and both came out under cooked. We sent them back and again they came out undercooked. The manager did the right thing and took them off the bill. Then we ordered dessert and told the waitress our son has a nut allergy and please no nuts on the plate. Well the dessert came out with the nuts on the plate. It was just a bad night, but I can say we will never go back.
had reservations, sat us as soon as we got there, food was great! Had apps, main course and desert.
The food was delicious and the drinks, luscious. Our servers Brianna and Erin were so attentive, and knowledgeable and made us feel pampered on our Anniversary.
Apps were very good !
Service - waiter was very very nice but his service was sub par.
Main course was not great.
Ordered a 2015 bottle of wine, server brought out 2018 and then oh sorry we are out of the 2015 but the 2018 is the same price. 🙄🤦🏼♂️
Won’t be back.
Great food, service and atmosphere with a beautiful view of the ocean!
Fantastic as always.
Very load. Understaffed, but our server was polite, friendly and trying.
Absolutely amazing food. I am vegan and they were super accommodating!
The lobster dinners were cold even though the entree was sent out with the appetizer.
Great meal. We had an issue with the prime rib, they sent an end cut instead of a center cut, but they quickly remedied the situation and then comped us the price of the dinner. Very nice service by Tara. Oysters and mussels were great. Lobster Bisque was amazing. Will definitely go back.
We specifically went for what they advertised as oyster and lobster night. When we got there they had changed their whole menu but hadn’t updated their website. To compensate the manager did buy our first round of drinks. The meals that we did have were very good
Phenomenal food (try the short rib pasta dish- amazing!) and great views and service.
Great food and gracious service. Cannot go wrong with either seafood or steak. Solid wine list as well with good variety of wines across regions. Only downside was the place is really loud though, so had to speak up to hear each other across table.
The restaurant is still lovely but overall, needs some love. The hostess intended to seat a party of 5 right next to the music. The back of my chair was on a speaker. We asked to be seated in the other room.
I understand the difficulty in getting help right now...we waited at least 10 minutes for the server to even take a drink order. Fortunately, we all knew what we wanted and order apps and dinner at the same time. I'm not happy with the whole having to pay for sides thing that has now been instituted. My dish was fine but not hot...everyone was pretty underwhelmed.
Dessert was the best thing we had. I hope they get it together and add more choices and redo the menu. As for the music, if you want to have live music after 9pm but at 7pm when people want to talk to their party, they shouldn't have to shout over the music.
Wonderful waitress. Spectacular food. David, another fabulous place.
The Bronzino was the best I’ve ever had! And of course the bacon was outstanding.
The view is sometimes over the pool and the cabanas, yet the place lives up to it's nautical aspirations.
The food is excellent. There is no complaint there, ever. The specialty nights and deals are very well priced, especially for a place of this caliber
The front desk, while efficient can be snarky and curt.
Request for specific room or seat placements are rebuffed unnecessarily often.
The servers are working hard, but can forget your requested glass, knife, extra napkin and no one on the floor helps them out. Every man/woman for themselves it seems.
We had terrible experience, service was extremely slow, I understand waiting for food, but waiting 20 minutes for bottle of wine is too long, our waiter simply forgot, then forgot to bring ice in glass after 2 reminders never got it.. at the end we were double charged, no apologies, as if it’s not a big deal, manager K.Harris was extremely rude and the charge on credit card is still not fixed for overcharge. In my opinion they did it hoping we wouldn’t notice after few glasses of wine lol. Better check your bill before you pay there!
The roof deck was quite nice. Seating was well positioned to see the water. Food was very good. Not excellent but tasty. Portion sizes are about average. Would definitely try again when back in the area. Great for catching the Summer breeze
This was our first dining out experience in eighteen months, since it was our anniversary. We were able to sit outside on the deck with a view of the Atlantic, and an onshore breeze that made it thirteen degrees cooler than on the mainland. There were a number of sushi specials and lobster roll besides the first courses on the menu and I chose sushi. My wife had a salad with shaved artichokes. For the main, she had the whole branzino which was perfectly cooked while I had the Frutti de Mare. That was lobster, crab and shrimp over squid ink pasta. This was a very substantial serving and excellent. Just used some of the bread to sop up the remaining sauce. Dessert menu was adequate. My wife skipped that course while I indulged. The one that is a "must" is Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sliders, vanilla Gelato, candied pistachios, amarena cherries and hot fudge sauce. Big enough for two but it was all mine. There is a good wine list by the glass or by the bottle, and cocktails with a separate list for after dinner cordials. One thing to note and it is stated on the menu, is that using a credit card incurs a 3% charge. That seems to be the new standard in the David Burke restaurants. Also, don't look for the hot popovers which are now extra. The ONLY issue was with how slow the kitchen was in getting out any of the courses, and the restaurant was not that busy. Wait staff and hostess were fine but the kitchen needs a lot more staff. Our planned two hour dinner stretched to almost three for the two of us.
Nice place with very good food.
Food was delicious and our waitress was excellent, wish I could remember her name, lives in Matawan. She was excellent, super friendly and attentive to our needs, went out of her way for us. Cotton candy tree! At first hostess was snobby, but accommodating and friendly in the end. The only negative, disappointed in outdoor dining, decor and ambiance was lacking.
The hostess was not very nice and while we sat for 15 mins waiting for an acknowledgement for our table after checking in she explained she sent a text while we were within 5 feet of her. The server took forever to bring drinks multiple times and the food was overpriced and underwhelming with no flavor (other than the bacon).
Amazing food, well worth the trip. Just keep in mind there is an 3% up charge for using a credit card.
Food was awesome. Server, Erin, was outstanding and personable. Overall an awesome experience
We had the best time celebrating our anniversary together. The service was spectacular and the food was incredible. I’ve cannot wait to visit again.
Before the pandemic, my wife and I had been to the Drifthouse by David Burke many times. I always ordered and savored their excellent Strip Steak. This time, this steak was no longer in the menu. Not happy with the option available I decided to order the evening’s special Braised Lamb. What a disappointment! The meat was dry, not tender, tasteless and lukewarm.
I also ordered a side of Hipster Fries (a favorite of us), and the potatoes were soggy, lukewarm and the portion smaller.
Service was atrocious. To top it off, in the end they charged me an extra 3% fee on their own gift card. The fee was removed after I spoke with the manager.
Apparently Mr. Burke has been opening other restaurants in the area. Although I commend him on the opening of his new restaurants, I hope that he does not loose sight of maintaining good quality at his other restaurants.
Prime rib was tough and tasteless au ju was water and oil. Looked like dog food. Obviously David Burke has nothing to do with operations. They must just use his name
Great evening out-we were able to sit at bar & relax and have some great wine & appetizers. Not too crowded & bartenders were attentive & food was delicious.
The service was exceptional
Food was fantastic! And service was great!
Love this restaurant and I’m here on a weekly basis. The last two services we were forgotten about. Over 20 minutes for our drinks and 45 min for our appetizers (oysters and sushi). We had an 815 reservation and did not start eating until past 9. We will definitely be coming back for the food and ambiance.
Lobster / Oyster Night was awesome. Delicious raw oysters and the lobster pizza was phenomenal.
First time and enjoyed everything. Lobster night is a treat and priced well. Drinks were excellent as were lobster rolls, lobster mac and cheese, desserts, etc. Only the coffee was pedestrian. Worth the trip, will be back.
