We have recently changed our menu to reflect a more Mediterranean seafood feel. Drifthouse by David Burke still has the fan favorites such as Clothesline Bacon, but also introducing new dishes to our menu such as Frutti di Mare, Linguine Clams Casino and Wild Mushroom Cavatelli (with locally sourced mushrooms).

My husband’s birthday. When they accept the reservation the restaurant should inform you there is a service fee charge of 3% of your bill for any use of credit card. We had an expensive dinner- I do not carry that much cash on me daily. It was extremely disappointing. The food was good but I will not return for that simple fact.

Wonderful from start to finish. The warm welcome, the bartender, the waitstaff were all friendly, professional and accommodating, and the food was terrific. They made our day, our 33rd anniversary most special.
We truly enjoyed and can’t wait to come back.

Food is meh - it was better in the past. The waitress with a great personality is the best part about the place. We had her last time too. Extremely loud and unpleasant noise level though.

I am not one to write reviews often, but this experience does warrant comment or better yet, a warning.

This was our first visit to this restaurant but not our first with David Burke. Our experiences at his other establishments were wonderful. This visit was not! The food was superb without question. The mussels appetizer was delicious. The steamed lobster was cooked perfectly! The short rib cavatelli was superb!!! The ambiance was acceptable. The major detractor was the live music. Wow, it was horrible! The band played so loud a conversation across the table was an extreme challenge! The style of music and the songs were weird and downright annoying. The vocalist was off key & terrible!! We were told the band plays 3 nights a week.

If you would like to enjoy a fine David Burke meal at the Jersey shore, pick a night to dine when the band is not playing.

We shared our comments with the hostess who could care less.

Parking is easy. Had 7pm reservation and was sat right away. Went for burger night. Both burger and brisket sandwich were really good. Hipster fries are amazing although a little disappointing mine were really over cooked but my husbands were perfect. Overall good service but could have used a second round of drinks but server never came around until we were done eating to see if we wanted dessert. Need to figure out live music schedule. They advertise live music from 6-10pm. We got there at 7pm and musicians were on break and didn’t start playing until 7:50pm and we left around 8pm. The 10 minutes were heard them they were great and really livened the atmosphere. So we’ll come back but either earlier or later to catch the music !

Food was very good. Dinner portions could have been larger, but adequate. Menu selection is relatively short. Staff were very friendly. Live Music was a little too loud. I would have preferred it at half the volume. No issues with reservation through OpenTable.

My girlfriend and I were celebrating my Birthday at the Drifthouse.. Both entrees were very good and the desert was even better… Don’t miss out on the warm chocolate cake in a tin pan served table side … we definitely enjoyed ourselves and will return in the future.

I had dined here during a Restaurant week and when my Son asked me where we should go for my 66th Birthday I requested to dine here.
I hate to say that I will be ever be back. Aside from the price the food was mediocre at best. My Bronzino was overcooked and dry. The plates were cold. We had to refill our wine glasses ourselves. $48 wine and we were essentially self-serve. There was a party of 10 or 12 across the way that was so loud we could barely hear our waitress review specials. I had to request fresh ground pepper twice. The guy who brought us out appetizers said he would look and never returned. I caught another young man and he promptly brought over a self serve pepper grinder.
A side order of “Roasted Asparagus “ gave me a diced up over cooked asparagus with Pine nuts. Not described as such and I asked the waitress to let whoever know that not including this detail is unacceptable if someone had allergies to nuts.
I know that David Burke was cooking when I ate here for Restaurant week. I doubt if he was there Saturday night. A dinner priced at over $350 should have warranted attentive staff, a visit from the Chef or Manager doing rounds and thanking guests for their patronage. Our waitress Kendall did her part but the rest we were on our own.

Nice views of the ocean. Great food. Chef Toni’s Lobster specials and cavitelli with short ribs. Yum! Chocolate cake baked in a tin and Lemon semifreddo were over the top delicious. Our server Emmett was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.

We came for our 17th anniversary, our Aunt/Uncle’s 52nd anniversary and our Aunt’s birthday and it was awful. We waited 30 minutes to get our drinks and other than the waitress everyone else who assisted her was rude.

The food was ok, but we spent $800+ (including wine) for a party of eight (includes two minors) and I felt the entire experience was embarrassing. No one took our menus after we ordered, my 80 year-old Aunt had to leave them at another table to make room.

If that weren’t enough the air conditioning wasn’t working;
I certainly understand things happen and that isn’t the staffs fault but no one seemed to care or apologize for the it being one of the hottest days in August.

I have been to many David Burke restaurants and would recommend your “pass” on this one… not even remotely up to par.

Food and service were very good. The restaurant itself was uncomfortably. Asked twice if AC could be lowered to make it cooler but we were given poor excuses for the temperature in the room. Heard multiple patrons complaining about being hot and sweaty. Not the way you expect to feel when out to a nice dinner.

We enjoyed our Birthday celebration. Our waiter was excellent (sorry don’t know name). He made excellent suggestions with menu and wine. The food was excellent and enjoyed the beautiful sunset.

Didn't live up to the hype—the food was good, but overpriced for what it is. Bacon was the highlight, the rest was unremarkable. We also ate on the patio outside and it overlooks a pool with children playing, which isn't really the atmosphere I was going for. Inside seemed like a better atmosphere. They also apply a 3% upcharge if you pay with a credit card which is obnoxious.

It was our 15th wedding anniversary- the hostess forgot to tell server- No big deal- at all. When we got home I got a call from our server apologizing and offering us a round of drinks next time we are in- that was over the top- very nice.

Staff tried to keep up, we didn’t get bread, lobster cracking took, hand wipes, water etc. The server was very upset when she heard- it wasn’t her fault.
The lobster this day was precooked, and nowhere near the 1.25 pound it was advertised. It came out lukewarm and gummy.
I’ve had other decent meals so this was completely disappointing.
