underwhelmed with the bacon and I was so looking forward from rave review from friends.
The lobster was a overdone and my entree was very nice but would definitely go for the steaks next time.
Staff were wonderful and they shared our anniversary with a providing a champagne toast.
Missed my Budweiser
The service was fantastic that night as every time we have eaten there. The food is incredibly delicious, the ambiance and views are beautiful and your serving size is always the right amount, not too much but just enough to leave room for dessert! If you have never been there before, you do not know what you're missing.
Probably the 10 time eating dinner here. We really enjoy the food and view from the dining room. Wait staff is always attentive and knowledgeable. Will dine there again for sure.
This is my 3rd time there. First 2 times the food was amazing. Must admit this 3rd time it was just ok. Maybe an off night but at these prices there should be no off nights. Will probably wait awhile before returning.
We waited close to 45minutes for our reservations. We were seated at a table out of what seemed like an extremely hectic dining room. We had several different people wait & serve us. All this was taken care of by our table being comped appetizers, cocktails & side dish. Thank you David Burke. Your food is amazing ... maybe more experienced staff would be advised....
Food was unique and delicious. Service was a bit slow. Overall we, and our guests, really enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning.
Even though the food and ambience were very very good, the service was not up to par taking away from the overall experience. For example, our server had to be asked more than once for certain items and took away things we wanted.
The food why we came to Drifthouse. Well it did not disappoint. Service was great. Our server Mike and his helper Miranda were attentive without being overbearing. The menu is very diverse and would cater to anyone’s tastes. I had the salted dry aged New York Strip steak. The flavor was fabulous! My wife being the “old school” Italian found comfort in the Rigatoni with marinara and peas. I’m not a huge fan of rigatoni but I have to say that it was sensational! By the way, the pasta is made in house. We ordered the shrimp and guacamole appetizer which we split. It was excellent. Lastly, we finished with the coconut cake which I still think about! Don’t wait! Make a reservation today!
The food was mediocre, at best. Nothing was terrible but nothing was great but we paid top dollar for it.
David Burke ‘s food was much better at the Fromagerie in Rumson. He’s obviously having a difficult time emulating those days. In no rush to go back to Drifthouse...
Food was delicious and the weather and view outside was beautiful
Surprised by slow inattentive service given years of experience of wait staff. This detracts from food and overall experience.
Everything was excellent! From the menu chooses, presentation, and taste, to the ambiance, the view to the ocean, and the excellent service. Definitely my new top restaurant! Special thanks to Michelle Boriello for the great table and recommendations!
Lovely restaurant. Food was amazing- loved he squid ink pasta fra Diablo. Service was wonderful. A tad bit noisy but we were seated close to the bar. Perhaps it’s quieter by the windows on the other side of the bar. I would recommend this place for a date but only if you are seated in a more private location
Food and service was great. Would go back.
Lovely food, nice view/ambience outside.. table cloth would have been nice.. had three apps, bacon really good, kind of like a Neuskes, an Ocotpus/chorizo thing, pot stickers, 3 really nice sized lobster and a ink pasta with clams, lobster and calamari.
Creamsicle creme brulee and a parfait of sorts. A ferarri Eldorao gold semillon desert wine.. All was lovely..
All was what you would expect from a celeb chef establishment..
Not quite the Yountville experience, but worth the drive.. Bocuse d’or for Monmouth county..
Another excellent dinning experience at Drifthouse! Our server Mike was great, very attentive and knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations on the dishes. The food was amazing, the Nauti Oysters were so fresh and tasty, the Lobster Dumplings were simply AMAZING!! Most of us went with the Burger Night menu, an appetizers, burger and a drink....can't go wrong! Great value for such great food. It was the 1st time at Drifthouse for most of my guests, but they LOVED it and they would definitely return!
Our server Mike was wonderful, very attentive and made the dining experience even better.
We had the porterhouse steak which was delicious
We also had the sides of corn and fries
They were ok the corn had a kick which I like but it was a little too hot
The fries had Parmesan cheese and peppers, they were tasty but I like truffle fires with Parmesan better
We went on a Sunday and you can bring a bottle of wine and no corkage fee just on Sundays which is a nice benefit
Went for Sunday brunch with a family group and it was terrific. The $29 brunch special is a real bargain with a drink, a starter and an entree. The windows look out on the pool area of the beach club so if you go in the off season not sure what kind of view you'll have. You can see the ocean waves from the windows but not the beach itself which is blocked by the rock wall. Will have to go back and try it for dinner.
i think it's a nice place, but we stood waiting at the bar for at least 15 minutes and never got acknowledged (or served). our waiter (mike) was friendly, knowledgeable, and good at his job, but my entree (halibut) and my husbands entree (salmon) were both delivered lukewarm. i didn't ask the others in our party if their entrees were hot. the fries were fantastic. the corn was very good too, but a surprisingly small serving given that we ordered it with the intention of sharing.
Waited 45 minutes past our reservation time for our seat (obviously over booked). We were seated at a table in a party room where there was a 21st birthday going on. the room was freezing cold and the atmosphere was terrible because of the party. The food was Ok (octopus was under cooked) but priced as though it was excellent- not OK.
Excellent evening for my parents Anniversary dinner. Staff was attentive and cordial. Food was great. Really nice experience. Dessert Lollipops are a must!
We were visiting for the weekend. The food was good but for the price I expected to be wowed! The service and the views from the outside deck were impeccable.
We came to Drifthouse to celebrate a Birthday. It was a very unusual restaurant. It is in a Beach Club.
Although, the food was upscale & delicious. The view of the Ocean & Bay was lovely. You also did see children & families at the pool & cabanas running around in beach attire.
I found it incongruous. I would go back for the food but would sit in the dining room
Beautiful views outdoors from I wan and river . We watched a great sunset and had fun !
We had a fabulous time at Drifthouse! Everything was perfect!
Our soft shell crab and seafood fra diavolo was delicious.
We enjoyed all our appetizers including a wonderful antipasto and scrumptious mussels! The service was great and we enjoyed a nice table right outside on a beautiful night. We look forward to returning to Drifthouse very soon!
we have been reviewing venues for my daughter's upcoming wedding reception. after speaking to the staff mid-day, we figured we would give it the evening litmus test. cocktails were excellent - Bombay sapphire martini especially. for apps we did the korean beef dumplings & the clothesline bacon! I love bacon! entrees were the cod, a Delmonico ribeye & 2 orders of the rigatoni. when it got cool at our oceanfront deck table, we went inside for dessert - 2 peach parfaits (extra blood sugar medication), a creme brulee, and a the lollipop cheese cake tree topped off a great meal! the venue is a bit tight for our wedding plans but it is definitely on our go to list, especially for the fall!
A bit disappointing. After the good reviews, really expected a lot better food and way better service.
Lovely 2 course brunch.
We have been going to Drifthouse since it changed ownership from Ama on a regular basis and have always enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately, this Saturday nights experience was so awful that we will not be back. We had an 8pm reservation and were not seated until 845 with no apology. We placed our order and ignored for another 20 minutes with no wine/appetizer or dinner in sight. By 9:20 we decided to cut our losses and go to another restaurant. There are a lot of people standing around talking but no one taking action. 4 people at the hostess stand but no one can figure out how to seat anyone at the numerous empty tables. After a 45 minute wait to be seated, you would thing that a manager or someone would look out for our table to at least ensure that our meals/drinks would get out on time. Really disappointing!
Horrible experience. Most of the menu was unavailable and the service was equally poor
Wanted to live this place but the food, service and ambiance was VERY mediocre. Most food was cold. Service was slow and noise was loud. I would not go back.
Wonderful meal, great service and great menu choices. Truly enjoyed our night out!
Had dinner on the Sunset Patio. Good food, service excellent and David Burke was also eating on the patio!!
Everything was excellent! Manager changed or table to me by the window, when he saw it was our Anniversary and sent over champagne! The waitstaff was excellent as was the food. Can’t wait to go back .
David Burke you should be ashamed of yourself. Upon arrival early for our 7:00, we took a seat at the bar. The bar tender was very friendly and outgoing. Unfortunately, I chose a drink called something like a watermelon Pisco. I asked if the watermelon in the drink was fresh watermelon or a watermelon syrup. He promptly said "fresh." Great! I love watermelon! After receiving the drink, which was a tiny glass filled with ice and filled with a liquid that was perfectly clear almost all the way to the bottom with a very slight tint of pink at the VERY bottom of the glass. I took a sip and it literally tasted like ice water! No alcohol, and definitely NO WATERMELON! Not even a tiny hint of watermelon flavor. For $13 I think? It's on me that I didn't say anything to the bartended. I should have, but he was so nice, I kept my mouth shut and drank a tasteless and pricey glass of nothing. We then had dinner. Silly me, I expected a quality meal at a David Burke restaurant with fine dining prices to match. First the bread. Four of the stalest dinner rolls you have ever tasted. Dry, tasteless, and hard like cardboard. Then the burrata and ASPARAGUS app and the lobster dumpling app comes out . The burrata "and asparagus" app had *ONE* 2 inch piece of asparagus stalk---not even from the top of an asparagus, just ONE tiny bottom piece of stalk thrown on this plate that is supposed to be a burrata and asparagus offering! The dough of the lobster dumplings was like MUSH. The expensive halibut entree was clearly FROZEN halibut, as there is always a very discernible difference in taste, look, and texture between fresh and frozen with any fish, but particularly halibut! FROZEN halibut should NOT be served in a fine dining restaurant and certainly not for $40!!! And lastly, the delicious cheesecake tree we once had at a DB restaurant in NY, now has "pops" on it that are SO tiny, you taste mostly the STICK in your mouth! SO TINY they were a joke.
For a David Burke establishment, it was overall disappointing. Especially since the famously named establishment wouldn’t even accept their own named gift card.
Meals were either under cooked (ordered salmon well and it was rare/raw. Scallops ordered well were burnt.
The artichoke salad was curiously tasteless yet sour. The fish was adequately prepared, served with nothing but a teaspoon of two garnnishes. The food is overpriced for its preparation and presentation.
Beautiful room. Great service. Food was good. A little hit or miss on the seafood with some tastier than others. Apps were a win!
