Located on Lake Wylie in the newly developed McLean South Shore, Drift on Lake Wylie is a chef-inspired lakeside chophouse. At the forefront of the Lake Wylie dining scene, our food is simple and seasonal—home to prime cuts of beef, local seafood, and homemade pasta. Whether you join us for dinner, pop by the bustling bar for a quick bite, or book one of our private dining rooms for a special dinner or cocktail party, we look forward to serving you soon.

Located 8 minutes south of Belmont off South New Hope Road and North of Lake Wylie just off Pole Branch Road.

Packed service since it was Queens Feast week. Very loud, food was ok…I don’t go here because the food is the best I ever had but because of the ambiance and access by boat. Even though it was packed, Ashton totally took care of our table and Lindsey frequently assisted. Both superstars at customer service and making the experience fun. I will say that the star of the meal was the calamari. Had never tried it before and it was amazing.

Where do I start? With one word! Eclectic from the checkin to our waiter Paul, who by the way had this very whimsical personality..... I will be back....... 3rd time really is a charm🤗

Fantastic food and environment. Only complaint, it was very hot! We were downstairs by the bar area and it was very warm from large windows and indoor/outdoor seating. Not ideal for summer heat! But overall great experience :)

Sadly did not have the experience i thought i would have here. I understand when things get busy and you begin to get weeded especially during restaurant week but i was seriously appalled. i decided to come here for my birthday dinner and we weren’t served the appetizer until an hour later. At the end of the night, two hours later, we still hadn’t been served dessert and everyone around us had ate, paid, and left. we still hadn’t even seen our server. we were down to about 4 tables left in the entire upstairs and he still wouldn’t bring our check or boxed desserts because at that point we didn’t even care to have it anymore because it had been so long. We sat at 7:15 and left at 9:45. The food was really good, so i don’t want to mark it there. but the service was seriously appalling. i understand that things happen and it gets busy, but even when we were down to four tables left in the building, we couldn’t get service. Would i recommend the food? yes, maybe as a take out so then you won’t have to sit and wait two and a half hours.

Our first time. Beautiful setting and friendly staff. The dinner quality was mixed. My wife had the lamb stroganoff - it was fantastic. I ordered the fillet, medium rare. It was more medium well done. We ordered glasses of wine with our dinner. They were delivered late so I decided to just eat my steak rather than send it back. We had waited so long. I will probably give it another try the next time we visit the area.
