Drift Kitchen & Bar at Lido Beach Resort
I ordered the mussels app as an entree unfortunately you ran out so had to chose something else and it was brought out immediately while my husband was enjoying his soup instead of with his and my daughters dinner, poor communication btwn manager and server. My daughter had the choppino with no mussels and not told there’d be no mussels. Choppino was more of thick tomato sauce rather than a rich
broth, in fact it was the same sauce on my husband’s grouper. Beautiful restaurant but very disappointed in the meal.
Our server was enthusiastic but stressed. I think this is a new place, and still getting in their service “groove”? It’s lovely surroundings and view. Our server went out of his way to make up for the inconsistencies with a fantastic presentation birthday dessert offering that was scrumptious. Overcooked fish seems impossible in a water town, but alas that was the disappointment.
Had the snapper dish. Great fresh ingredients but not much taste, kind of bland. We expected an outdoor with big ocean views. It’s completely indoors. Our waiter was great! They close at 9. We had an 8:30 reservation and they really rushed us and were cleaning and closing up around us. Kind of felt like being in a diner. Won’t be back
We enjoyed the food very much and the view is just beautiful!
It was everything we could of asked for. We went at 7:45 and was seated right infromt of the windows where we watched the beautiful sunset. We enjoyed the mussels, and a flatbread to start which were amazing. Then proceeded with the grouper, and steak. Amazing all around, drinks were also amazing !
Absolutely wonderful meal all around...beautiful view of the sunset over the water, food was very good, and I have to recognize our server David who was just excellent...thank you for such a memorable meal!
I really wanted to love it especially when everyone could use more business. The view is very nice seeing the gulf. The bread they provide is really good and the highlight of the meal. I had the ancient grains salad and was very large and a nice salad though missing the promised cherries. The dressing was missing some flavor. The ceasar salad got high reviews from my group. It went downhill from there. No sweet tea but was given sugar, a little simple syrup would have done the trick. I asked the waiter if they could off a pasta dish but switch up the pasta for another and was told no one had ever asked and no. I got the salmon pasta special and don't think they added the promised sauce and it was extremely dry. Two people got the salmon and the veggies were nice but the fish was extremely overdone. One person ate it anyway because he will pour sauce over it and never complains. They did take them off the bill. The grouper was also a little overdone but better. The chocolate cake I heard was good. I got the key lime pie and highly suggest not getting it. For $11 it was an extremely small piece and was only average. The service was hit or miss much like the food.
Great view of the ocean and surrounding area. I would think I would get more food for my money. It wast bad tho. Go for the ambiance not so much mass economical amounts of food.
Food was average. Service was terrible. I had to flag down waitress for my wine order. Then at end of evening had to find her to run my CC so we could leave. Waited over 10 minutes after she brought the bill for my to go look for her. Maybe it was a bad day for her but overall we had a below average dining experience at Drift.
Disappointed in the menu selection. Reservation system leaves alot to be desired.
Our first time back at Lido Beach Resort since Drift Kitchen & Bar opened. The food was only surpassed by the view, incredible. We can't wait to visit again!
Incredible view and delicious food. Wait staff was new but worked very hard to get it right and she did!
What a transformation from a simple bar/restaurant to a very open place to eat and drink. We have been here 3 times and have found that the service is spectacular. The food on our last visit was good but not great as the other two visits. This may be in the top 5 in Sarasota in terms of ambiance.
Beautiful view and atmosphere but the food was overpriced for the quality
Had a great birthday dinner here!
The restaurant is beautiful, views are amazing, food was delicious and service was awesome! Highly recommend :)
Went for a nice quiet romantic dinner, a table of six adults were sat right beside us and were very loud. The food was good, the seafood special excellent but the steak was mediocre. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I felt the food was a little overpriced but probably typical for a resort restaurant.
Staff welcomed us. Food was very good Presentation was done very well. Of course the view of sunset over the ocean made everything perfect. Only food that wasn’t very good was the creme brûlée. It was more like chocolate pudding. Will be back.
Beautiful location and view, good service and good food.
The parking was not good. When I called ahead we were told to park in guest parking however we could not. And the street was full. We were not guests at your hotel.
While the food was decent and our service was good, we did not get to see the full view since came post sunset, there are other many other restaurants in the LBK snd Sarasota area that have great food snd easier access (many also with good views).
Our server, Nancy, was great!!!
I really love this place and the food. However last night the service was horrible. Order a bottle of wine and it took nearly 20 minutes to come out. Food taste and presentation was great. 4 of us, and one dinner came out, 5 minutes later another came out (that one was cold). Finally the others came out. Not a good reflection as we brought first time guests.
When I made the reservation, the picture of the restaurant leads you to believe the big picture window overlooks the ocean. It doesn't. It overlooks the parking garage next door. That is really my big complaint with this place - felt like a bait and switch. The food was pretty good and the service was also pretty good, no real complaints there. They need to change the picture to represent what it REALLY looks like.
The staff and atmosphere were top notch. The food...not so much. My husband and I both got a salad (ceasar and caprese both awesome!) and then we both had pasta.
I enjoyed mine (I hardly ever have those savory carbs so for me it was a delicious treat!) my husband didn’t like his at all (I didn’t care for it either because what good is a wife if she isn’t there to try a taste of your food?) Julia and Josway were both very accommodating and took the uneaten entree off of our bill.
We were on vacation so I indulged in the pineapple upside down cake. It was dry but topped with a delicious gelato so all was not lost there.
It was fabulous!! We celebrated our anniversary!!! I will be recommending I to everyone. The view and the sunset was everything.
Food was good. Expensive but value was good. Based on overall experience. Our check was confused with another table & we had to wait while wait staff unwound. Over all a good experience. Will return.
Ate here with friends. I'd say the food was mediocre. The pasta underwhelming and the grouper and meat just OK. Beautiful view.
Our meal was very tasty but I have to say that the view and atmosphere were stunning. Parking is tricky which is a drawback.
We loved the view! Service was outstanding and cocktail menu was especially fun. We enjoyed two pasta dishes. Loved it so much - we went back the next day to Lido’s tiki hut. Same service and fun drinks!
Great view. Food was very good as was the service. Would go back for sure!! Amazing cocktails.
The service was excellent and the food was very good. We seldom eat out but this experience was quality and class in an era of Covid 19 restrictions.
Everything was perfect! Watching a spectacular sunset with excellently served delicious food. Will definitely return.
We walked over from another hotel. I wish we had found this restaurant sooner during our stay. What a great vibe. I loved the views! Wow! They have couches to just sit and have a cocktail. We had dinner by the window. The waitress was so friendly. Very attentive. The food was delicious. I highly recommend this place when visiting Lido Key area. We’ll be back!
Food was just not good
Monica was a great server. Food and drinks delivered at a good pace. The bar was out of Titos, but my friend found another vodka. Food was really good.
atmosphere was nice but food was salty and not edible. It was nice having gluten free options but the chef has to work on flavoring. Service was great and the restaurant is very nicely decorated. Just needs to work out kinks with the food.
Fantastic service and this restaurant is drop dead gorgeous. Relatively new which is probably the only reason we were able to get reservations during sunset-enjoyed the spectacular view!
Great view from the 8th floor of Lido Beach Resort!
Great bar! Excellent food. Great drinks!
You can’t beat the view of the sunset! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a warm coastal flair. Cesar salad was delicious...we had GF which gave parm chips which are so perfect.
Nancy was a GREAT waitress. Prompt, attentive, without rushing us through our courses. Even if you don’t get a window seat, the restaurant is really nice to be in.
Love this place, food is top notch and the service is professional and friendly.
Absolutely adore this place. Our waitress was the sweetest, the salmon and salad was terrific.
