Drew's on Halsted Ratings and Reviews
I came in for dinner Saturday night with my family of four, plus my two nieces. It was a special occasion, Blue Man Group, and dinner in the city for the nieces Christmas gift. The food was great, as was the service. But. What sticks out for me was the hostess. When we first walked in we were greeted with a kind smile and warm personality. The hostess woman was very kind, and complimentary to my wife concerning my daughter. Then on the way out she was again warm with her words to all of us. In Chicago it’s not tough to find a restaurant with great food, which Drew’s certainly had, but the kind heart made this a special dinner. So a big thanks to the incredibly warm and kind hostess!!
We visited Drew's as part of restaurant week in Chicago with a couple of friends. We requested the restaurant week menus which were filled with fabulous choices. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The service was attentive but not too attentive. The food came out fairly quickly and all 4 of our meals were delicious. We had desserts too as part of the restaurant week menu and they were good as well. We would definitely recommend Drew's and encourage others to give it a try. It's a great location at Belmont and Halsted.
Excellent eclectic menu with lots of great choices. Some of the really delicious dishes we had were the Amish Chicken, the Duck Confit, the Butternut Squash Ravioli. The martinis are well made and the overall ambiance is very welcoming and friendly. They have some interesting wines like the Givry, a well priced white Burgundy and a Paso Robles Rhone blend. They have a nice outdoor patio in the back and a lively bar area as well. We really had a good time and it is a good value as well!
The ambiance was superb. The service was prompt. We shared apps to begin - calamari and pumpkin pasta - - yummy. This was followed by the salmon dish and bread pudding to top it off for restaurant week. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to try a fun new place in a great neighborhood, with phenomenal food and superior service. Great wine list as well!!
I have never been treated so well from a dining establishment. After making reservations for s pretheater dinner I called about nearby parking. They have a lot available for $5 AND they let us leave the car while we were at the theater. We had traffic issues and we would be 30 minutes late. I called enroute and was told ‘no worries we will hold the table’. Great customer service. Food was wonderful. Various staff stopped by the table to see how we were doing. And we got to the theater in plenty of time.
Good was good. Prices were very reasonable, especially the drink specials. I liked the atmosphere. It was awesome to be able to park there for blue Man group for 5 dollars. The close distance to briar street theater was fantastic. We will definitely go again.
Sunday Brunch before the matinee at the theatre. Nice to pay $5 for parking and to be able to leave our vehicle parked until after the show. Food was good, very convenient. Was Looking forward to the Bloody Mary bar advertised, and they didn't have it on this particular Sunday. Was disappointed about that, otherwise, yes, I'd recommend it.
Went in for a quick brunch with a friend on New Years day hoping for their brunch menu. But they only have that on weekends. Slightly disappointed but my lunch totally made up for it. I had the mushroom quesadillas and the calamari! So good! Our server stopped by often and our water glass never went empty!! Can't wait to go back and try their brunch menu!
