Upon arrival, no one greeted us. They were preppy for a party. When greeted, it was burdensome to be seated. The server was unfriendly. The host, piano player and singer spent time dramatizing the upcoming party. There was no effort to respect the diners not attending the event. Food was served quickly and was tasty. There were no condiments on the table. The distraction from the loud voices, moving tables made the experience a once and done. Had we known the focus was on a party, the restaurant would not have been chosen. There was no acknowledgement of the inconvenience. Out in 45 minutes.
We decided to go to brunch last minute so not a lot of options. Drew's was well reviewed on Open Table but we found it very meh. Nothing terrible-- but food was not great and service was strange. I would not go back and would not recommend to anyone. Dinner could be different.
No AC but a great place
The food was amazing. The server had a hard time understanding all of us and spoke very poor English. The air conditioning was out and it was over 100 degrees outside and it was nicer outside with the wind then it was in the restaurant. All eight of us sweat though our clothes. We would have just left to be honest, but there were eight of us on a Friday night so it was more of a rock and a hard place situation.
We always enjoy Drew's. Especially the Live Music dates!
Typically, too loud...95% of the time. Regardless where one is seated. Louder does not and should not mean better! It can be a distraction which then can cause discomfort. The space is all hard surfaces which increases and distorts the audio levels. Fabric on walls and around windows would help considerably.
Really enjoy the veggie, fish & pasta options. At times too salty? Customer can season the dishes if desired.
We look forward to our return!
The waiter was nice and attentive brought the food out in timely manner it was my birthday celebration. I would highly recommend Drew’s. Wonderful time
Amazing, as always.
We were seated right away because we had reservations -- the food was okay -- the services was good -- the prices a little high for the amount of food. I'd recommend this place however -- no real complaints.
My salmon was a little too salty, but the waiter helped when I asked fir more spinach to hide the salary taste. Very good wait service. We enjoyed Drew's on Halsted.
It was my BFs birthday and pride. Owner blasted music so loudly during SIT DOWN DINNER could not hear person next to us. I left with my party of 8 after we witnessed 4 different people ask the owner and waiters to please turn the music down. Ruined Pride and my BFs birthday. Half of the party straight up went home without eating because we were all so frustrated and angry. None of us are there because it was too miserable to even have a drink (so 4 went home starving, 4 found another place to eat). Would never recommend to anybody, there was nothing on the website to indicate it would be such an obnoxious and miserable experience. Keep in mind, we are all 22 year olds down to party, we were drinking etc. so if it was too loud and miserable for US I don’t know who could possible enjoy such a god awful “ambiance”
Everything was fabulous! Very nice spot for Pride Brunch
Always a great time, great food and great team

Drew's is a nice little spot on the corner of Belmont and Halsted! A little pricey, but worth giving it a try. Awesome appetizers, a simple beer menu and a decent set of entrees. We had burgers and they were tasty.
David provided excellent service and is a real asset to Drew’s. Note thigh all the staff are great as well.
Great service, varied and delucious menu.
We were running behind due to slow trains and they were very nice about holding our Fathers day reservation. The $3 mimosas were yummy and we all enjoyed our food. We had a nice table for 6 in the back that made it easy to converse. I'd go here again.
Great brunch option
Had the fish special- grouper was delicious. Good neighborhood place; many great menu choices.
One of my favorite places in Chicago for a great meal in a pleasant, friendly setting. Consistently the best!
Loved the live entertainment! It was such a welcome surprise and so much fun.
Love the food and the atmosphere- had a great dinner
Amazing. The food and service was so good! Scallops were the best I have had in a long time and serving sizes were awesome.
We enjoyed the food and the location. We were in town visiting from Kansas City, MO and received great service and food.
We came for a Cabaret Connexions concert and were happily surprised to find that the food was wonderful too.
We were really very disappointed in the quality of our meals. I ordered a steak done medium. It was done medium well to well and was dry and flavorless. Even with the reduction. My son ordered a pasta dish and was equally unimpressed, saying that the pasta was overcooked and much of the fish in the dish packed flavor. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. The service was terribly slow and inattentive, though I blame the scheduling of one server on a Sunday night versus the server himself; he could only do so much. But with as much as we paid for our meals we should have had better service and much, much better food.
We always enjoy Drew's. Especially Russ' musical events! Bravo!
Perhaps consider adding noise reduction solutions.
Fabric on/near and above windows.
Parking lot a plus.
Continued success and look forward to another festive evening!
Drew's offerings are varied enough that someone with dietary restrictions have no issues finding items on the menu. Dining on a Wednesday night means 1/2 price on wine, which is always a nice treat. Last night was my second time at Drew's and I am sure I will be back anytime I need to be at the Annoyance Theater a block or so away.
What a perfect spot for brunch w friends! The light on a sunny corner, warm service, fast and Delicious food. I’ve never had a bad meal here...and brunch was no acceptation. Mimosa special to boot! A lovely Sunday funday here w the girls and boys!
Staff need to attend to customers and not gather at end of the bar.
Drew’s is a favorite of ours. The food is consistently good, nicely presented and varied. The value is quite good. The staff is consistent and checks in with guests frequently.
very good food, nice staff, good area, a little small building but otherwise amazing
I have wanted to dine at Drews for years, friends always choose a different place each time.
Took my best friend to dinner Friday nite. His steak was good. My Special Pork tenderloin was dry-over cooked.
Our waiter did not look like he put much effort into his appearance nor his demeanor -the other waiter in that section treated his guests like guests in a home. Our waiter never told us his name, kept trying to take food away and the restaurant was not busy.
I am in Chicago once a month and I wish I could say I would come back-not with this experience.
Food is always excellent as is the service and their willingness to accommodate a gluten allergy. Drew is the best!!! Very welcoming and a wonderful host.
The service, food, and cocktails were all excellent. The restaurant is in the “Boy’s Town” section of Lakeview and close to the Red Line. Our group of 4 were completely satisfied and would highly recommended.
We always look forward to a wonderful dining experience when we visit Chicago!
Just an excellent brunch!
We had brunch at Drew’s on Easter Sunday, before we went to an afternoon Cubs game. The food was delicious, the location was perfect (we walked to the field), and the ambience was great. I would definitely recommend!
We had a great time! We were headed to a show and the service was awesome and timely. The food was spectacular!!
I told the waiter I can't have gluten when I ordered the veggie burger. He said he checked with the kitchen and told me it was fine, but it was not. I actually have celiacs disease, and was sick that night.
Maybe the staff needs to be educated regarding what foods are not safe for celiacs diners ?
