Dressler's Restaurant - Birkdale Village Ratings and Reviews
The reservations were honored promptly. Always a good sign.
We were seated in the middle of the room, but even so, I did not feel that we were constantly being passed by the wait staff.
The bartender concocted one of the best whisky sours I have ever had and I have had quite a few.
I had the lamb chops which were served in a rich reduction sauce. The chops were large, but perfectly cooked and very juicy. A shame not to pick them up and eat them. The burnt green beans were an excellent accompaniment. Since he main course came with only mashed potatoes ordering a vegetable for the table is a good idea. An excellent espresso ended the meal.
The waitress was very professional. She was always there without hovering. I think that the restaurant has a low waiter- to-guest ratio and I also think they use the tag-team method to make sure your food gets to your table quickly.
For its quality, the food was very fairly priced and the portions are very satisfactory.
I would unhesitatingly recommend the restaurant.
Excellent. Our server Marshall, welcomed us with a complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversary. From there we relaxed and ordered the next course and additional cocktails when we were ready - we did not feel rushed. Appetizers - I definitely recommend the beef medallions and calamari. Calamari was very flavorful with a Thai peanut sauce, medallions tender. My husband had the rib eye with fingerling potatoes....I helped with those, they were very tender! I had the halibut. Nice presentation, firm fish, done perfectly. Dessert was also delicious, we shared the apple cake. I was very impressed with this level of service and food in a shopping mall. We will return and would definitely recommend!
Second time here. Loved it both times. Food is excellent. Service is friendly and efficient. Clean, nice, worth the ride from Lexington and Lenoir ( where our parties came from ). We were allowed to stay and talk with our guests after we paid and were not pushed out, like some places would have. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. Great food, done right.
We had a fabulous time. I had a mahi special served over gnocchi and vegetables and everything was perfect. My husband had the ribeye, which was just as good as a filet. Our server was impressive and the noise level was low. It was a perfect date night out.
It took three tries before we got the wine we had ordered. The second time involved a discussion with, who I assume was the wine server. He was determined that the wine he showed us was the one we really wanted. It took pointing to the wine in the iPad to get him to understand. There's a big difference between a blend and a single varietal, bu that seemed to be lost on our servers.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Dressler's. I'd heard many great things about this restaurant. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. My wife and I decided to both start with the house salad. Loved how all the flavors came together. Definitely the highlight of the meal. Then we decided to split the 18 oz. porterhouse special they were featuring. We enjoyed the herbed fingerling potatoes that came with the steak. Unfortunately the steak wasn't good. Not sure what grade of meat they use but it tasted like USDA Choice. It looked as if they baked it in the oven instead of what most steakhouses do and broil the steak. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare then our server Bryan replied "that'll be a warm red center". When it came out, I didn't see any red in our steak. It was cooked more like medium well. I would have sent it back but our server Bryan or the manager didn't do a check back on our table to ensure that everything was prepared to our liking. The service was poor as well. We asked for share plates to split the steak, which were brought to us after we were 3/4 of the way finished with it (took five minutes to bring two plates). Plus, in addition to asking the food runner for share plates, we also asked our server Bryan and another server—who was the one who greeted us, took our drink order, and cashed us out. She basically ran Bryan's section for him. Disappointing first experience at Dressler's.
Our first time to eat at Dresslers. Our son was taking us out for my birthday. Elisa did a wonderful job for us and the food was brought out in a timely manner and well presented. Tito’s were amazing, as always! My husband’s blackened ribeye was very tough (I tried it and agreed) and I ended up giving him half of mine. We didn’t want to fuss as it was a special occasion that our son had arranged. We’ll definitely go back because three of our party of four were very satisfied with our dining experience. It would be nicer if there were booths available. Conversation was difficult at time because of the close location of tables.
