Our Chef, Brendalee Vialpando, has established close relationships with local organic farmers, fishermen and ranchers creating a delicious and innovative menu. We take as much pride in our vintners as we do in our farmers, and we hope to share the bounty of our region with every guest. Our wine program aims to highlight some of our favorite local producers, big and small, along with the many varietals we can offer due to the diversity of our land. And though our bias is towards the wines of Sonoma County, we also feature a handful of international wines lovingly selected to pair with our cuisine. We hope that all of our guests take the chance to explore the beautifully comprehensive world of wine during their stay, whether by enjoying a bottle of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir or a bottle of Champag

Service was slow, food didn’t taste all that great either. Didn’t do anything special for our birthday celebration... Overall, not worth the price or hype!

Horrible. This was intended to be a special Father’s Day brunch only to find out the restaurant wasn’t opened and they said “We don’t why OpenTable was taking reservations and Open Table screwed up.” And then we had to wait and find an open spot at the bar only to be waiting for ever for a server. I ended up getting our own menus, waters and serving another waiting table their waters. And then as a final kick in the pants, they gave me someone else’s bill!

Caesar and butter lettuce salad were both basic and bland. Lamb sausage stuffed peppers were bland as well nothing stood out in this dish. The calamari was pretty good, very crunchy, and a large portion, the sauce that came with it was delicious but not enough for all the calamari they give you. The salmon main course, Salmon was cooked to perfection, and delicious, crispy skin and moist and flaky underneath, the messy pile of squash on the side though didn’t look appetizing at all, it looked like yesterday’s leftovers. The filet, total disappointment, I hate complaining about food at a nice restaurant, but my medium rare filet was served well done, to the point it was shoe leather tough, the server was great though are got a new filet out quickly, however, this time it was done medium well with only a hint of pink. Really disappointed that they couldn’t get the easiest thing right. That capped of a disappointing meal.

Even though the food was a total let down, the service was great, our server was polite and attentive. The sunset view was gorgeous, the cocktails were outstanding, and they helped take the sting out of a disappointing and expensive meal.

So I wasn’t too surprised when our evening was perfect. I had been there before and it hadn’t changed one bit. Turned out that we had quests drop in and they accomadated us all. The food was so good with everyone commenting on it. Our waiter was top notch and laughed along with us. One of the best servers eVer.

We love Drakes. It is a beautiful place and our entrees have always been terrific. This trip the food was not up to the usual standard. Our dinners were good but not near great. My filet was not cooked as ordered and was far from melt in your mouth tender - in fact, downright tough. They did offer to cook it longer or cook another steak. However, the initial wait for dinner was way too long and I did not want to wait even longer. The lamb was too fatty and the duck was also disappointing. Of course we'll be back and hope it will be the memorable experience we have always come to expect there.

They made the best of a power outage! Some menu options were unavailable, but the cheese plate, gnocchi, mussels, and fruit parfait were quite good. Plus the view, even on a rainy night. We don’t know if this was their best work but we enjoyed ourselves and it will sure make a good story. :-)

Our server did not seem to care and messed up on our order and when we told him all he said was that was my fault and offered nothing to fix it. He was not attentive at all. We are surprised he is still there with his attitude he has. Too nice of a restaurant to receive this kind of service. He needs to go. I would not eat there again if he was our server. We are locals too. It was my birthday celebration with our kids and not the kind of experience I was expecting since we eat there often.

Short of fresh sea food on menu. One of 2 NY steaks was full of gristle. No offer of compensation. Excellent service, beautiful view. They honored our request for a window table and remembered it was a birthday occasion which was very nice and the service was impeccable. Bar service was slow.
Quite expensive.

Not impressed with the food for such an upscale restaurant.
Our flatbread was barely warm and appeared to have been reheated and not freshly prepared.
I had scallops for my main course, and felt sand on my teeth in several of them. My husband's duck was OK but not overly tender.
Service was very nice and friendly; we weren't charged for the flatbread.

Food was great! Presentation was great! Our only trouble came when paying the bill. I had VISA gift card that should have been able to be used just like a credit card. The waiter couldn’t be bothered with it and told us the restaurant wouldn’t accept gift cards. That’s not right. BTW, Terrapin took it the next night without blinking an eye.

This restaruant is part of a hotel experience. It is priced just as most hotel restarurants would be. Expensive. When the weather is clear it has a great view of Doran Beach peninsula and the ocean in the distance. Our service this evening was not attentive enough for the price. Waited too long for waiter to approch us even with 6-7 empty tables in the room. Had to ask waiter for drinks before we ordered our food. And water was never refilled. When I finally asked for water it was a long wait until I received it. Not looking to go back soon. Food was delicious and pricey.

A beautiful overnight at Bodega Bay Lodge brought me to Drakes for a fabulous dinner. A window side table allowed a gorgeous view of the bay and sunset. The service was impeccable and the sea bass was delicious. Can’t wait to visit again during my next visit.

The restaurant itself is nice enough, good ambiance and a pretty view... Everything else is lacking in every area. The service is exceptionally slow, and the staff is inattentive at best. The food wasn't all terrible, but much of it was. Definitely not worth the price point in any way shape or form. As long as you are not expecting fine dining, and you dont mind a 3 hour meal of barely mediocre food, this place might be worth the view.... will definitely not be returning.

Wonderful cozy restaurant with superb views of Bodega Bay. I had a superb chicken, brined, and roasted to caramalized beautifully seasoned perfection....nicely framed with delicious greens, potatoes and a truly unctuous pan sauce.
It’s a nice idea for the chef to be creative with crab cakes but the smoked paprika in the sauce overpowered the crab flavor.
The kale Caesar had a nice coating of Parmesan but unremarkable dressing.
It may seem like a small thing but the only
part of our dinner that was disappointing was the taste of the water brought to the table, which had a foul chlorine smell and taste. This was not the case at another upscale restaurant my wife and I dined at called Terrapin, a mile away so perhaps a water filtration system could remedy this.

Drakes provided a lovely dining experience. From the warm greeting from the hostess to the professional wait staff and excellent food, we really enjoyed dining here. Having a table by the window where we could see the bay and the ocean was definitely the frosting on the cake. I highly recommend this restaurant and lodge!

Lovely view and location, attentive staff but the quality of the food did not merit the high prices. Also the water had a bad taste; they need to install a filtration system or add lemon to the water.

The restaurant is beautiful as well as the view. The service was average, disappointing for an “upscale” restaurant. The baby spinach and kale salad was terrible . My husbands meal was over cooked and was sent back, the new filet mignon was cooked incorrectly again, but at this point we gave up. We were also charged twice for the same meal, which upon me bring it to the hotels attention they finally refunded with their apologies.
