Drake Mini Bar
Bartender was attentive informative, polite and made great rapport with us. Ambiance was beautiful and drinks were made perfectly - will definitely be coming back with friends
The Drake Mini bar is an almost hole in the wall style bar. The outside is very misleading and at first looks like the outside of an airport cafe, BUT inside is absolutely gorgeous. The ambiance is trendy and casual. The food is good but pricy and there are limited vegetarian/vegan options but the staff are very accommodating! I'd go to the drake bar again but more for a fun night of bar hopping then anything else.
Pretty good food and amazing service. food portion was a bit small tho.
Me and two other friends went there for dinner tonight. It was a good experience overall. However for the price it charges, I expected a higher quality and quantity of food. The service was really nice, the waiter was friendly. It was a bit noisy, after all it is a place for socializing. But I don't think I will go there again.
Great service and food! Don’t get me started on the cocktails, top shelf! Quieter than the Drake 150 next door, very much enjoyed. Will be back:)
Food selection for lunch was surprisingly limited. Very few (if any) sensible options. In fact both myself and my guest were disappointed. In an era when people are more conscious of their food and the impact it has on their health, this isn’t anywhere close to a good place that I would recommend.
Food, service and ambiance was great but the volume level was a bit high so difficult to have conversations
Despite a bit of a bizarre set-up and location, Drake mini-bar comes through in all respects, greetings, service, handcrafted cocktails, great wine by the glass options, and every bite of food tasty, creative and well executed even if a little pricey for a regular occasion, although all well worth it . More refined than its big brother across the hall.
We requested patio sitting and they gladly accommodated. The cocktail drink, maharaja we had was perfect. Food was great and the dessert was amazing, chiffon cake with lemon meregue filling with pineapple.
Excellent venue, well located to the Royal Alexandra Theatre for a nice dinner and glass of wine before the show. The service was wonderful and our server was very knowledgeable about the wine list. Will definitely be back again!
Had a great birthday lunch here with work colleagues. The food and service were excellent!
Excellent light dinner. The wedges were perfection. (Crispy outside, creamy inside). Relaxed, handsome atmosphere. There was a DJ, but they were playing music of our era, and it was the perfect volume. Will go again.
Good ambiance, cozy feel. Food is a bit over-seasoned (stake tartar and salmon ceviche), wine list is large and reasonably priced. Great cocktails, also reasonably priced. Worth a visit for an after work drink. Will not return to eat.
Excellent service. Great drinks.
Really lovely service!
Great service, great wine selection and delicious food. Everyone from the hostess to the servers were just delightful.
We had the most amazing experience. Our friend has a (new/major) food allergy and the team was incredible. Kind, compassionate and diligent. Best service!!
The service as always was excellent. The manager Melissa and Ashley are wonderful and always ready to help!
The server was great, attentive but not in our faces. We stayed a long time and they didn't rush us out.
Food was delicious
Only comment on price was the Burrowing owl wine price per glass. Pricey and it's a BC wine not a wine from a far away country( we didn't order it)
Otherwise a tasty lunch shared with a good friend
She loved her meal too
Small portion, but just enough for lunch
The “baked bay scallops” served on a seashell with gruyere cheese and unsalted butter / cream sauce was to literally die for. The second dish mussels with chimichurri and white wine broth was tangy, and the mussels were cooked to perfection. The third dish, charred asparagus, came with a delightful miso glaze and sesame seed coating, which personally reflected a close vibe to Turkish/Mediterranean kitchen and the additional garlic butter mayo, is simply a spread that I want on all my sandwiches moving on. Final dish octopus a la plancha was a love child of a shakshuka and octopus. My partner and I have been going at multiple octopus dishes as it is the “hype” for the summer in multiple restaurants, yet this vibrant, tangy, and perfectly charred version, with fresh bell peppers and a bright tomato sauce was simply delightful. Final notes; my gluten-free partner made me order sourdough bread, just so that I can mop up all the sauces from these different dishes. Delightful surprise 4.5/5
The atmosphere is very nice and the decor is really stunning. The service was great as well. However, I found the menu is really lacking for pregnant customers. There is a lot of raw, unpasteurized food (cheese, oysters, raw egg, cured meat) that left a lot to be desired for safe food options. Keeping a few pasteurized cheeses on hand and having more variety for snacks beyond these options would be appreciated, in particular, the fries from Drake 150, a few more dips or spreads and some crudites would be ideal. The variety of mocktails is great and really satisfying. The eggplant hummus is delicious too.
Overall it was great. The wait for the drinks was compensated by the good service. I’d love to go back
