Food wasn't great, and it was expensive. Overcooked and greasy beans. Charged for everything - even bread at the table. Service was great, room ambiance okay but loud. Might try it for brunch, but wouldn't go back for dinner.

I really like the atmosphere but the food was disappointing. We had the brisket and calamari but it was ok not great. The sides were good but starters were ok.

Having been to the other Drake establishments and loving them, Commissary was no different in a more casual fabulous. Our server was energetic and attentive and the service was overall by all staff attending our table was appreciated. We shared a smoked eggplant app and did the family style brisket with blistered beans and mushrooms and wow what flavour. We ended the night with a light rhubard dessert and it packed a punch. The tables are relatively close together & there was a group beside us that got loud towards the end of our seating, however those things you can't always control. Upon leaving, it was fun to peruse the little shop of take away goods. We bought a few things to try at home and look forward to returning.

The food that we ordered for brunch was a bit too salty for our taste. Had pretzel bagels and avocado tartine (too much lemon juice in the avocado paste) but apart from that the ambiance service was excellent

- Great ambiance: big and airy. Lots of cool, interesting decor. We saw tons of families with young children too, making it v family-friendly.

- Great service: friendly, fast, and responsive, but not smothering.

- Great food: Delicious. So tasty, and they give you decent value for your food. I'll say that if you're into cooking, you could probably make a lot of this stuff at home, but it's rill tasty and nice to eat out :)

Bottom Line:
- A little pricey for what it is, but all the food is solid, so worth the cost if you're only going out once in a while. If all you want are the baked goods, there's a small express bar right at the entrance that will fix you up nicely!

My wife’s fish was delicious as was rye bread and cultured butter. I ordered brisket which rarely do. I was
surprised to find it was like a deli corned beef but in steak thickness. Maybe description could have indicated same. If I ‘d known, I would have ordered differently . Found the staff pleasant

Good was overpriced and subpar. We actually had to send our main dish back because it was so off. The mix of flavors and spices did not go together and tasted awful. It also did not match the discription on the menu.

Not a great experience. Took 25 mins to get seated for a 10am reservation despite nearly empty restaurant.

Didn’t have enough high chairs despite calling ahead to confirm high chair.

Hash was like warm and eggs over cooked. Cured meat platter was delicious.

Expected better from a drake restaurant despite visiting other locations many times

I found the tables a too close together and the fries too well done. Aside from that, I loved it at Drake Commissary. The service was excellent! You have to have the bread - it is fantastic! If you are in the neighbourhood, go pick up a loaf. You won't regret it.

We have been to the Drake Commissary a few times and it is usually great food in a great environment. However, this last time we went it seemed like the food had declined in quality and flavour substantially. There are also tons of dishes that have curry in them now which is cool, just way different than what the restaurant used to offer in terms of variety. Our dishes were bland and disappointing.

I celebrated my birthday and my group had an excellent time. I love the decor, art installations and the vibe of the place. Everything we ate was delicious! Charcuterie board, smoked fish board, spinach dip, eggplant spread, the homemade sourdough bread and especially the crispy mushrooms for starters. We ate family style for mains and also outstanding. Brisket platter, whole fish, grilled calamari was awesome and my fave was the whole chicken platter-so tasty!! I also highly recommend the Drake G&T! We had amazing and friendly service. Our server took excellent care of us and we appreciated and valued her recommendations. We also loved the photo booth and the DJ was awesome. It was a totally memorable night!

Fantastic service and great food We were there for a birthday and too rushed to stay for dessert. Our server sent us home with their house made sourdough ice cream which is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Thank you for a lovely evening

Dinner menu is limited. You were out of fish and ships at 10pm. Boards were amazing but the cod fish was tasteless and should have come with rice or something. Service were good for a restaurant but not great for a Drake Commissary.

Great experience!!! When making the reservation it asks if it is for an occasion. I replied it was for a birthday. I was thinking there may be a little something at the table, possibly a note etc., but there was not. It’s not a big deal and didn’t ruin the experience I just was confused as to the question if there is no reason for it. Definitely a great place for a special occasion or anytime!

I love the food and the service at any of the other Drake locations. But getting service there is so difficult that it really affects how you experience the place. You get amazing wine, then... you spend the next 30 minutes trying to get a second glass. That was the same for every one of us, throughout the 2.5 hours we were there. It felt like we spent half of our time searching for a waiter.

One person alone cannot be left alone to serve an entire restaurant and the length of time it took to get our meals, I can only assume there was only one cook on. Is this common for mid week dining? The bar tender came out to help deliver our meals in the end but most of the time she was chatting to one person at the bar. We skipped the coffee and dessert in fear that we would never get out. More time was spent waiting than it was dining. Pity. Poor management.

I truly enjoyed my time celebrating a friends' birthday at Drake Commissary, as did the birthday girl.
We were greeted w/ scones and spread and it was mentioned that it would not be added to our bill.

We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh bread and hummus we ordered, as well as our personal dishes.

I truly appreciate that you offer Cashew Milk as a dairy alternative, as Soy/Almond (also offered) are the most common, however, I cannot personally participate in either. This allowed me to enjoy a Cashew Milk Latte w/ my brunch.

The menu wasn't the most vegan friendly, however, I really enjoyed the Beans dish (I'm a dairy free vegetarian) and my request for no cheese was accommodated without any hassle.

Our servers were wonderful and we stayed for 2+ hours catching up; we were treated well and our waters refilled. When we apologized for staying, our server was so kind in saying to please stay and enjoy (the restaurant had emptied in our section) and that she was happy to have our company there. Each member who served our table was pleasant, kind and personable. I had to return my latte originally as it was cold and the server was so sweet and didn't make me uncomfortable for the request.

This wasn't my first time at Drake Commissary and I would definitely return, especially if the menu gets a few vegan friendly updates!

The wait staff could do with a little training. They do not keep an eye on their customers and I experienced waits longer than necessary. I had to get up and ask for hot sauce after a particularly long wait.

For elderly people we found the sound hard to cope with. We could not carry on a conversation with our friends.
