DRAKE Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Drake on several occasions and have found it to be a great, reliable place. The only disappointment this time is that it took at least 30 minutes to get our food order out. We were on our way to a 7PM concert at the Tower Theatre and really thought that arriving by 5:15PM was going to provide plenty of time for the 6 of us to enjoy the meal and the special occasion. We were rushed in eating our food and never got to have another glass of wine or dessert. Even though we were celebrating a birthday in our group.
Easily our favorite restaurant in Bend, we love Drake for its delicious food and great service. It is our first recommendation to friends when they ask for a dining suggestion. We love the carrot hummus, grilled kale salad, and the burgers best. I’m a bit ashamed to admit I haven’t even tried other items because when we go, that’s exactly what I crave! My husband has had a few other items and enjoyed them all.
service was excellent, the cast iron baked hot cornbread was absolutely fantastic amaxzing flavor
the menu had a lot of fancy names that scared us a little but one we tasted the dishes it was very good
we substituted the side dishes from one of other entree's and they were extremely accommodating the flat iron steak and a gratin potatoes had amazing flavor also
the corn bread was so good the table next to us ordered it also
Seafood hit. The new co chef Bryan from Seattle made a wow wow taste on the Walu special and I was so glad I had it. The crisp on the top edge was so tasty and one of a kind. This is our second wonderful fish meal this yeAr and it’s only feb 2.
We always enjoy Drake. Tonite was first Friday and it was a overall fab dinner. We missed seeing Devon and glad to see Bo and Ted. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I've frequented this restaurant several times and it's always fantastic. Great atmosphere - we love sitting at the bar when it's just the two of us. I have food allergies and they always have delicious gluten free, vegetarian options for me while offering beautiful, local options for my carnivorous husband. They recently opened a second restaurant, The Washington, which is also fantastic. While these restaurants aren't low cost, they provide great value and it's a meal you'll not forget.
Nice restaurant in the heart of downtown. The bone marrow was a lot of fun and delicious and the Mac and cheese was incredible. The pork chop was dry and the popcorn as free appetizer seemed weird and out of place, but hey free popcorn. Will definitely be back to try more from the foodie friendly menu.
Overall It was great. Made a reservation and we walked right in and we were seated. Only reason 4 and not 5 stars is the owner/management had our waiter (who was working his butt off) tending the bar by himself and waiting tables. So service was lacking a little, had two empty glasses for a while but our waiter kept a smile on his face as he wiped away the sweat off his forehead. He was running back and forth to check on tables take orders and make everyone's drinks get ice, deal with the co2 that wasn't working etc. Ridiculous! Come on now for a place that cost $70 for two cheeseburgers (very good) and 4 drinks they can afford another person on staff.
Awesome business dinner with brand new hire who was indeed impressed. Server recommended the perfect appetizer and beers to get the evening rolling. Awesome steak special cooked to perfection (and I'm pretty picky). Server was always available just when we needed without interrupting the business discussion. We'll be bringing more business dinners to the Drake.
Everything was so delicious! The cauliflower, the burger, the pork chop, and the cocktails were all executed perfectly. The butterscotch pudding though might have been my favorite. Fresh real whipped cream that was barely sweetened topped the incredibly decadent, slightly burnt sugar/caramel silken body of pudding. On top of the delicate fluffy cream were bits of candied pecans to make for the perfect textural contrast in each bite. The richness was just over the line to be naughty and so amazing! No snack-pack pudding here!!
