Shrimp cooked in a delicate cream sauce with spiral pasta, and sprinkled with fresh Parmesan and Romano cheeses
Fried eggplant topped with fresh grated cheeses and served with our Seduction marinara sauce
Despite COVID-19, or perhaps due to it we had a wonderful lunch. One of our must “do” locations when we visit New Orleans. The char-broiled oysters were fabulous. We tried Shrimp and Grits as well. They’re gumbo is always good as well as red beans and rice
Excellent service and the food was very phenomenal and divine.
Drago’s was showing as 4 stars on Google. We believe that was padded. There is no way anyone could honestly rate that hotel restaurant 4 stars. Table was dirty, napkins dirty, service poor, food sub-par. We were hungry and tired, having just arrived in NOLA, so we pushed through the bad first impressions. Our experience did not improve. Very disappointed.
Your oysters are amazing but the environment could use some serious cleaning
The food was mediocre at best.
We ordered the large lobster, oysters and crab and corn chowder. The lobster was overpriced for the size, preparation and presentation of the meal. Oysters and chowder were good but nothing special.
The service was not good. Our server was fine. We feel for the prices, we should have received service that at the very least we could call good.
It seemed everyone was doing the bare minimum to avoid any complaints. We had to clear our own table of dirty dishes because they wouldn’t pick up our old dishes as they placed new ones. They were missing items from the menu and ran out of butter...? Overall, we will not be returning or recommending anyone to patron this restaurant.
The charbroiled oysters were incredible! Also enjoyed the raw oysters. Large and fresh.
We’d not been to Drago’s since Summer 2005. Glad to see that grilled oysters are every bit as good as we remembered. Best oysters ever!
This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. I was underwhelmed. The restaurant decor had a diner feel to it. It was brightly lit, very big, with nondescript tables and settings. The menu was varied, something for every palette. My meal was good but nothing to rave about.
Very disappointed. Gumbo was cold sent it back and still lukewarm. Gumbo should be piping hot. I would expect French Bread but nope My friend had lobster Mac and cheese. It wasn’t edible. Tasted old and scorched. Overall bad!hate giving bad reviews expected much better food
The charbroiled oysters were the best part of the meal. I would highly recommend them.
Food was good, service fair and atmosphere poor. Not one of my favorites in NO, but was convenient to the Hilton.
We were extremely disappointed. Everyone in Tampa told us that we had to get the charbroiled oysters at Drago’s. Pretty easy to do since we were staying in the hotel. The oysters and the desserts were disgusting. The breading was soggy, there was about half an inch of butter and grease in the tray. The french bread was so tough that you could hardly tear it. I wanted ice cream for dessert. The waiter described the the sundae. But not really. It was disgusting. A pile of aerosol whipped creme on top of less than premium ice cream. I didn’t eat very much of it, what a way to end an already less than satisfactory meal. I wish I had taken a picture. It was gross! The place was very busy and loud. The lights are too bright. The table and chairs were uncomfortable. But our waiter was very good. I didn’t mention how bad the food was since I didn’t really know what to expect. Later I saw pictures on posters and photos in magazine ads and thought “that food really looks good” then I thought “that definitely was not what we had”. I won’t be recommending this place to my friends. Drago’s is just another run if the mill low class tourist trap with high prices for what you get.
Charbroiled oysters are amazing!!
There is one reason to go to Dragos over and over --- the charbroiled oysters. We went on our first trip, 3 years ago, ordered a dozen, inhaled them and ordered another dozen. I know, I know - who would go to New Orleans to eat in a hotel (Drago's is in the Hilton?!?!) That's what we thought but people, including locals, kept raving about their oysters so we went our last night there. They were unbelievable. We couldn't wait to go back this trip and went on our first night back this past week. Same thing - ordered a dozen, then another dozen. The drinks were good too but we never even sampled any other food there. The oysters and bread dipped in their sauce was plenty filling for us. Go. You won't be sorry.
This is a favorite place of ours. We have never been disappointed. Oh, wait we were once disappointed when we couldn't get in!
Our server on Monday (Lauren with dark glasses I believe) was excellent!
Service was great ! Oysters were huge a little under grilled but overall delicious
We ordered for three people I’ve been there before, and it was fabulous. Tonight our meals were inedible. The chicken was so tough, and was freezer burned, we just could not eat it.
Stuffed lobster was only stuffing, zero meat in it.
Salmon was ok, just plain and kind of fishy.
Definitely will not go back. Too many other good choices, especially for the price.
Grilled oysters were good. The table was dirty. Martini was served in a water glass (?). Limited healthy entree choices. Restaurant was half empty yet I was in and out in 30 minutes.
We obviously had the charbroiled oysters which were amazing. But we also had the steak which was alright. We went twice. The first night service was great. The second time not so much. We had to keep calling the waiter to pay some attention to us.
The restaurant is nice but noisy. Not the best seats being it’s in the Hilton. But for being near the water it was disappointing in that sense. Their bar is way too small. We hung out at the Hilton bar which was much nicer.
The food is the reason why we go. Especially the oysters. So if you don’t care about the rest it’s a 5 star.
Superb oysters but customer service a bit lacking. Made a reservation and was seated next to the front door and service station in a practically empty restaurant. Asked to move and Ended up just moving myself to another table. But the char oysters there are the best.
Oysters were not sizzling, which was disappointing.
Small portions not worth the money. Food was nothing special.
We have been at Drago’s several times in the past. Last time about 4 or 5 years ago. The charbroiled oyster were the best in town. Now, they are horrible. We were sooo disappointed. It seems they were done ahead of time and put under a light to keep them warm, the consistency was a soggy tasteless oyster. The worst oysters ever.
We have recommended this restaurant to friends for the oysters. Now never more. I guess greed and money means more than flavor.
My mom’s birthday was the occasion. We chose this as a lunch spot and invited some other family and friends to tag along. There were 12 total. Everything was wonderful. Our future events will probably be here.
Drago's never disappoints with its food and service. Highly recommend at least one visit when you are in NOLA.
I’ve been to this location before and the one in Metairie and both were very good. However this night was not. First the table we had was up against what looked like a giant TV screen back in some small area. The restaurant was not very busy and I should have asked to be moved. The roasted oysters were not good. They were extremely small and had been over cooked. I’ve had them before and they were much better. I also had the oyster platter and again very small oysters and piled on fries that were luke warm and a little chewy, not freshly cooked. I’ve always liked Drago’s but was disappointed this night.
The chargrilled oysters were good but almost too much garlic.
