Great value set menu. Attentive quick service
Really friendly people, excellent service and authentic Cantonese food
A great restaurant with nice food. Authentic Chinese meal.
The best place for family meals. Something for wveryonw
This well established Chinese restaurant serves excellent and generously portioned food at decent prices. The only downsides are that it has very high ceilings and can therefore be quite cold at this time of year, and the service is efficient but disconcertingly reserved and unsmiling. We'll go again though!
My friend and I had 3 portions of dim sum each, every one delicious. The service was courteous and efficient, and the ambience and decor very pleasant. I will certainly be back for more.
We booked Dragon Castle for a Chinese New Year dinner because the West End is very hectic these days. We had heard good things about this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The food was of the best quality, very fresh and tasty, the seafood dishes were outstanding., not the cheapest food but food of this quality must come at a price. The staff were quietly efficient and we had no complaints, in fact the service was a nice change from the Americanised over friendly style that is prevalent in London these days. The only downside to the night was that this big space lacked atmosphere but I guess the venue was quiet that night maybe because of the celebrations in the West End. Overall very happy and will try to return and sample the dim sum specialities which are served earlier in the day.
So pleased to have found a good Chinese this side of town. We had a delicious CNY meal on Friday.
Good food. Service a little patchy but it was quite busy when we were in there.
Really good late lunch for a large group of people. Efficient service and great food.
Food was amazing at Dragon Castle but that's all I can say for this restaurant. The customer service was terrible. None at all. They didn't even look like they were listening when taking the order and were talking to other people in a different language whilst taking our order so talking over the customers. Won't go again, glad we did for the food. But if you can get a takeaway of their food without having to speak to them, that would be best.
Very high standards, excellent service, authentic dishes, ingredients very fresh and perfectly cooked. Thank you
The food was really good and the place was very nice. The waiters were a bit oppressing turning around the table during the whole lunch and got a refill for something we didn't ask(honest misunderstanding). Other than everything was great and delicious.
Perfect for a birthday supper. Good value and delicious dim sum.
Food was decent, good range on menu, reasonable price for London.
We mixed a la carte with two different set menus for our party of 8 and this was fine.
Atmosphere was a little clinical, but we chose it for it's capacity and proxinity to where we were staying.
Service was efficient to the point of brusqueness. got the feeling we were just bums on seats, rather than valued customers, but that wasn't a problem to us.
Perfect to say goodbye to a valued colleague when we all have a relatively short lunch break - the fast and efficient service helped. Needless to say we all loved the Dim Sum and have been several times.
Went here for Dinner with my partner. Walworth Road is hardly salubrious, and the hoarding outside the Dragon is a bit off-putting, but the service and food make it worth a visit. Friendly welcome from the lady on reception, and a smiley, friendly and helpful young waiter. Was actually hoping to see the grumpy old man that appears in so many reviews - but it must have been his night off! Will return.
For mains we had king prawn choi mein and egg fried rice with duck which was yummy and soft shell crab as appetiser which was a bit oily and lacked flavour compared to the main. Overall experience was good, however the restaurant was a bit chilly.
I took my family and my best friend there fora Chinese 'Dim Sum'. The dishes were delicately prepared, tasty and were served up in good time. Service is attentive. Place is spacious and comfortable. It's definitely my favourite place for Chinese authentic food.
From the moment I walked in I felt unwelcome. No smile, very dismissive and couldn't wait to get rid of me and my two guests. The food was however lovely, plenty of it and nicely presented. However the person surving us was rude (more mature waiter with glasses) talking about me under his breathe, tried to take my plate before i even finished my meal and when i politely explained why I didn't feel that paying the service charge was fair, seen as my experience was awful, he was so unbelievably rude!! Never ever again. If you like to feel welcome and have a good experience do not go here.
Great neighbourhood dim sum, usually lots of space for groups (except weekend lunch, when you can't book and you should expect to queue). A lot less stress and hassle than going to Chinatown!
Appalling service. Manager was exceptionally rude and made the evening unpleasant.
We weren't offered anything after our main meal and when we asked for coffee, it wasn't well received.
Really great Chinese, excellent service, will come again
Good quality food, mixed menu with some a bit pricey, but this depends on your pocket.
Best Chinese I've had. I liked everything. You get the best value for money here as well, because the set menus include big starters and mains. I recommend sharing with 3 people.
Fantastic meal, great service. Plan to be back very soon.
Dragons Castle never disappoints. Food always good, service always friendly and helpful. It's not cheap but offers good value. The Dim Sum is wonderful and extensive.
Late meal on a weekday night. So very quiet. I am a massive fan of salt and pepper squid. Brilliantly done and priced reasonably at £6.50. Mixed seafood with crispy noodles very good with good selection of seafood. All in all nice meal for a late night.
Food was very good, but the total bill for 6 people (without alcohol) of £162.00 was rather expensive.
I've been here a few times but this time got a very grumpy unfriendly waiter; it was early evening booking so restaurant was empty so not as if he was overloaded; ,most people in group hadn't been before and all commented on our waiter. Others who served us were fine. The Singapore noodles were so so, they brought us wrong seafood noodles as we had ordered ho fun but people said not to return it, the barbecue roast pork was disappointing, the roast duck was a bit too fatty, the stuff in set menu was fine but the king prawn dish on set menu C seemed not to match description on menu so not sure if another error as people commented they were not nice and resembled king prawns in batter you'd buy from Iceland! The only other observation was when clearing table. waiter knocked glass over and remains of lager spilled on someone; we felt he should have been more apologetic and offered her another drink.
Overall I put it down to off day and would come again as they do great dim sum and it is a nicer restaurant than ones in China Town and previously had nice service.
Went for my birthday on a Saturday early evening. We were well recieved although when I'd originally tried to book online it was showing an error. I telephoned in the booking the same evening and then an email confirmation came through. I think there was some confusion about this though I tried to explain in. Both bookings were under the same name & tel number so they could've checked with me. Otherwise a perfect meal, tight seating around the table could be better.
The service and food was amazing. Only complaint is it was very cold where we were sat, which was close to the entrance. Would've loved to have a table in the back, especially since I made a reservation, I was expecting a nicer seating area. Everything else was AMAZING though! Thank you :)
very good dim sum, great service in an unlikely location!
A large restaurant but not too noisy on mid-week at 7pm. Efficient, pleasant and helpful service. Very tasty food. Sichuan beef less spicy than the regular beef, which surprised me. I am not a great fan of Chinese food but if you have to go with friends who are, this is a reliable place.
Fantastic food, having been going for a number of years and is always a great choice, friends love it and the food is always excellent.
Had a fun night out with my girls. Waiter was very attentive, good food and plenty of it.
Nice authentic chinese restaurant, very spacious. Food is good, large menu selection, chinese beer. Good price and very big portions!
the dim sum is amazing. it's also at a great price. plenty of families. service is diligent and efficient
I’ve been afew times as my husband loves the dim sum. It’s consistently good food but I booked a table and found we were running 30min late. Called the restaurant to be told it’s not a problem but when we got there they had given away our table saying that we hadn’t shown up. Waited 20 mins for another. Staff can be rude but the food is always very nice. The dim sum menu is excellent! But the cola is roller cola so stick to the beers. Never had bad food from here and we would definitely recommend or return
