Love the Pasta the atmosphere is simply amazing.. this is my favorite Italian restaurant in Los Angeles..
Drago Centro offers a superb dining experience with its wonderful Italian food, fine wines, excellent service, all in a modern, spacious dining room. The wines-by-the-glass list warrants particular commendation. That list includes a large number of fine Italian wines, and a few domestic ones, by the glass (150 ml) or quartino (250 ml). We enjoyed two Italian wines by quartino – a white, a Lugana, and a red, a pinot nero – which were outstanding exemplars of their typicity. This list is plainly one of the best we have ever seen.
Lovely open space, set back from Flower st. A little noisy even on a Wednesday evening.
Expect to spend $50-100 per person. Good pastas, standard Italian menu, not much more.
Would not recommend if looking for quiet intimate dinner, more of a business meal type of place.
Extensive wine selection, pricey.
We will never return after experiencing one of the most arrogant and rude dining room hosts of all time. We arrived for a very late lunch on a Monday for a business meeting and meal about 2:30 pm. Our server was gracious in making sure our lunch order was in before the kitchen closed for dinner prep. But at 4:55 pm on the dot, the dining host Fabio Lai came over with a dinner menu, and asked if we wanted to "look at the dinner menu." Mind you, the dining room was completely empty, the outside patio was empty and there were a few customers in the bar area. We nicely said, "No thank you. We will be leaving soon." Fabio closed the dinner menu, made a point of looking at his very expensive watch, and said very slowly without a smile, "When you say soon, do you mean now or in 5 minutes?" At first we thought he was joking, but then we realized he wasn't. But he wasn't done. He then said in an officious and demeaning manner: "I need you to clear out as I need to make room for my patrons." (Note that "patrons" was pronounced as if he was talking about the tequila). As if we were not patrons who had just had a meal at Drago. Each of us commented at his rather abrupt and rude manner, but he had no apology and simply walked away, taking a service elevator to further avoid us as we walked out. Having had many business and bar association meetings there - including dinners in the Vault - this will be the last time I will step foot in Drago. Fabio Lai (who apparently is the manager) must have some amazing job insurance policy to remain there. And clearly the lovely woman up front is well practiced at apologizing for him.
The food just didn’t taste good. Very disappointed because Drago was my favorite restaurant. We spent a lot of money on a dissatisfying meal.
This is my 3rd time dining at Drago Centro. Everything was perfect me and my Wife had the tasting menu it was out of this world delicious. Waiter was attentive and checked on us often. Would recommend anyone celebrating or wants a fine cuisine style dinner to come to Drago Centro. Chef Celeste will not let you down,
Outstanding food. My husband and are vegan and they did an amazing job by preparing two vegan entrees . The servers were outstanding. Overall a great experience !
Downtown gem, near perfect on every level. Relaxed yet sophisticated decor, knowledgeable staff that was attentive but didn’t dote. Pasta dishes could not be better.
Food is consistently high quality. Very convenient location downtown with xlnt parking!
Drago Centro continues to be a great dining experience with amazing execution, great attentive service, wonderful ambiance and exception ingredients. I live in Texas now so do not get to go as often now but I hit it up at least once a year. You will not be disappointed.
There was a really tacky group of people that hosted an event of some sort that evening. Maybe some guide lines or expectations around the people that are hosting an event. The group that was there got a little out of control and sloppy. My date and I️ ended up leaving after dinner even tho we wanted to enjoy a dessert wine. I love your food and service.
Excellent service from beginning to end felt very welcomed! :-) the drinks were good a little fruity and the crispy calamari was excellent in the bar, perfectly cooked Papadalle could have expected a little bit more pheasant but it is what it is, the waiter split the plate for us without even asking which was very nice. Truffle chicken was the most tender flavorful chicken I've ever had in my whole life green beans nice and crunchy, squid ink pasta also was cooked perfectly al dente we had the hazelnut desert very good I was stuffed at that point lol.
One our most favorite restaurants in Los Angeles for many years. The food is always perfect, the service excellent and the sommelier quite knowledgeable.
Taking my girl out for anniversary the food was good I order pasta with Shuffle it was amazing pretty expensive but it Worth it
I’ve always enjoyed dining at Drago, unfortunately service hasn’t been what it used to be. Not sure if staff is spread too thin or it was just an off day. My friends thoroughly enjoyed the Branzino and caprese appetizers but the linguine vongole was disappointing. Pasta was too over cooked and clams were small and tasteless. I’m planning on returning but not for that entree.
Went here for a friendly business dinner. Food and service were good, although portions were small. A little disappointed about the fact that one of our party was a vegan, and they seemed kind of baffled when asked to suggest choices for her especially dessert. It was a cool place though for downtown. Would probably go back next time in LA.
Have been to Drago many times....This was the worst meal ever. Starting with the menu so small to sending back two dishes that we could not eat. Yuck. For four of us, we wanted to share two pasta dishes to start. Asked that the chef put a little on each plate. Nope...would not do. Please be aware the restauant was 3/4 empty on a Tuesday night! So we split it when they came to the table. Steak was so mushy, you could not eat it. Beyond tender...mushy. yuk. My octopus was so salty you could not eat it and I love salt. The donuts were raw inside. Chicken tasted only like garlic and nothing else and the scallops had sand in them. The bill was 288.00 before tax. Give me a break.....
First time visit. Great food, great service, great venue. Would be 5 Stars but bar service while waiting to be sat could use the same excellent service as the restaurant. Overall a great place. Will definitely be back.
We enjoyed that our table was romantic and cozy and had a great view of the city. The service was great and food was tasty
Dinner before music center event
I Love the pasta here. The burrrata is also good. I’m not a fan of the tiramisu tho.
Kinda disappointing. Friendly professional service. Great wine. Risotto was good but not special. Dessert was disappointing. Lavender gelato tasted to soapy.
All the food was delicious and very reasonably priced for a downtown restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful but just a tiny bit on the noisy side and we were there midweek when is wasn't completely full. We had a great time and would definitely recommend.
Consistently delicious food. Service is great from beginning to end; very helpful wait staff to keep our concert date on schedule. Be aware: construction in DTLA can cause detours so plan a little extra time to get there in time for reservation, then relax and enjoy the food!
Delicious food and wonderful wine list with impeccable service. Never any different!
Great food and equally great service!!!
Food was too salty. Our waiter was too solicitous - seemingly wanting us to order more food after we ordered. Not an unusual practice, but he did it too much. He also took our signed cc bill while we were still enjoying our dessert which is not very professional.
A group of office friends and I celebrated recent birthdays at Drago and took advantage of the DineLA menu. Dining at Drago is always a pleasurable experience, but I must confess, it doesn't wow me the way it did when it first opened. Especially the DineLA menu, which like many other participants is only two courses these days, was tasty but not outstanding. We will continue to visit on occasion, and hope to rediscover some of the early Drago magic.
Outstanding. Lucky to be off street traffic. Very fine dining.
We were "showing off Drago to our friends" and we were all so pleased. You are our #1 favorite in LA. We live in Laguna Niguel, and do dinner and the LA Phil. Makes for a
great memory evening. thanks for treating us so well. And Alphonso was a fantastic server.
I have been to Drago several times and am never disappointed! This visit was to take advantage of DineLA for lunch, and while I didn't think the menu selection was great, for the price it was adequate....although a bit of dessert to end the meal would have been nice!
The service was good as always. The wait staff friendly and knowledgeable, the environment very open and clean.
We moved to the bar area after lunch, stayed awhile for cocktails..firepit and people watching, great way to end a relaxing afternoon!
One word of caution, if you park in the attached parking area watch the time!!! Parking may well cost MORE than your meal!!!!
Very small portions.... ;-)
this was my first time at this particular location. I brought out of country guests . made reservation way in advance. it's a very busy, too large for my taste, restaurant. perfect for after work dinners, drinks, hence the downtown business district location.
We were three women and the host ( didn't get his name, tried to give us the worse possible table, in the most traffic area. I found it rude, as there were plenty of nicely located table. but he moved us immediately, when we expressed our dislike.
The waiter was Alright, not too helpful with wine selection. The food was good, although, the menu isn't as vast as in the other locations.
I much prefer other Draco locations, in Beverly Hills and Pasadena.
Great venue in the Heart of the finance district. Impeccable food, great service and ambiance is awesome.
Wife’s birthday, they were informed, but didn’t acknowledge it. Great food, great wine list.
Clearly one of L.A.'s best restaurants for people who appreciate ambiance, food and service.
We went for our anniversary dinner. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The only downside was that the waiter ignored our side of the restaurant when a big party came in.
Service was very poor. The food was just ok. The food might have seemed better, but we had to much time to think about between service. We started with a waiter and he disappeared after taking our order. From then on, it was us with various bus boys that would notice our lack of service. 25 minutes from the time they took our salad plates till they brought out Special of the night steak, left it behind the table next to ours for 5 minutes before they came to carve it table side . Not once did somebody come to ask if things were to our satisfaction. The man in the kitchen does not know the difference of ordered medium rare to serving extremely rare. 20 mins after we finished eating did somebody think to ask if we were finished. 10 minutes again till somebody would ask if we like coffee. 15 minutes later they'd ask about dessert. 15 minutes before dessert came. Empty coffee cup on the table, dessert without coffee. 25 minutes more before they asked if we would like the check. When I tried to tell the manager that the service was poor, he did not even ask how, he just turned and walked away.
