Excellent, attentive staff. The food was fresh and tasty.
Early Father’s Day
Excellent service, spot-on wine and food recommendations, and amazing quality. Will definitely return.
Went there with my fiance with Pasta and Steak in mind, BUT the fish caught our eye and decided on the Halibut and the Black Cod. Did not dissapoint in the least. Perfectly cooked and the Cod was on top of the Risotto which was very tasty. The Halibut was accompanied by vegetables and sauces with some Polenta.
The wait staff was very attentive and on top of there game.
Only slight lack of attention to the Caesar, was a bit bland and lacked the X factor.
Overall there was dishes that looked really good to try for the future and will be back for sure.
First time there and not the last.
Very professional service. We went for an early dinner, so it was quiet and relaxing. I really enjoyed the garganelli pasta (like penne) with Italian sausage. The branzino was well-prepared with a crispy skin and light tender flesh.
Too noisy!!!! Too noisy!!!!Too noisy!!!!Too noisy!!!!Too noisy!!!!
Drago Centro has been one of my and my wife's all time favorite places. Dined there at least ten times. Which is why we were so sorely disappointed at our recent dinner celebrating our twin daughters' 18th birthdays and, with two of their friends, their graduation from High School. To recap:
1. It took over 20 minutes to get bread, after we had placed our beverage and dinner orders and received our drinks. and it only came after we asked for it. (Footnote: When I asked the waiter if we would be getting tapenade, which I remembered from earlier visits, he said he "didn't know what tapenade was." Apparently someone in the kitchen knew, and we did eventually get one tiny platter of it for our table of six.)
2. The salad courses --my wife ordered beet salad, I the Insalata di Mele-- were disappointing. Mine had almost no perceptible dressing. Even after I asked for and added additional dressing, the salad remained bland at best.
3. My first course, Caramelle pasta, was delicious, but ridiculously small -- at most an appetizer, scarcely an entrée.
4. For the entire two-plus hours that we were at the dinner, the waiter never once asked if I would like another beverage after my original vodka tonic was clearly empty 45 minutes after it had arrived.
5. My wife and I had ordered a fish entrée as a shared third course. But after everyone finished their second courses, the waiter put dessert menus in front of everyone. Shortly after, he belatedly remembered that we had another dinner course coming and removed the dessert menus. It was another ten minutes at least before that third course arrived -- again a disappointingly tiny serving of Black Cod on a bed of gummy risotto.
6. Our water glasses remained empty for at least the last 45 minutes that we were at the table, and were only filled when we asked just before departing.
7. The restaurant was never more than half full while we were there, so the dreadful service cannot be blamed on "too busy."
Poor quality of food!!!i ate at Drago Centro two years ago and the cuisine was much much better .Service was good and attentive on our lunch but this place needs to do quality food ,large big plate doesn’t mean anything to a costumer if the food doesn’t match .
Hope you will get better .
Exotic Italian creations. The venison was very mild in gaminess which was nice, but had a great flavor profile with the accompanying components of the dish (beets, pear, reduction sauce). The rabbit cannanoil was unique & excellent. The cannolo dessert was fabulous as well. Great wine selections.
Very upscale, & swanky decor. Service was impeccable!
I had lunch with my coworker visiting from New York.
Food quality: meh. I had the pink lady apple salad but the dressing (champagne vinaigrette) was a bit too sour. I also had 1/2 portion of the linguine with manila clams, and the pasta had no taste. The clams had strong wine taste, which was fine for me. I wish the pasta itself has some more seasoning.
Services: The service was very good!
My coworker arrived a little later (I was already seated), but when she told the hostess about my reservation, the hostess said she couldn’t locate me and the reservation. There was only hostess and she brought me to the table. It was really odd and the hostess didn’t even try to help. At the end my coworker walked around the dining room looking for me.
Drago remains one of my favorite go to restaurants in DTLA for both business and leisure dining. The food and service are consistently excellent and Stefano in particular is exceptional. He never fails to deliver on terrific food and wine recommendations (and attentive service) which invariably enhance the overall experience.
Their rabbit Cannelloni is simply the best!!!
We went for an early dinner after Disney Hall matinee on Sunday. Arrived before 5:PM, but the gracious staff let us in and served drinks. Nice room. Good pastas. Parking is a little tough. We finally found the parking entrance a little north of the restaurant. The narrow ramp takes you below building to valet service.
My wife and I both had fish. She had the Halibut and I had the Salmon. Both were perfectly cooked and tasted great. The service was great. They kept checking up on us constantly. As soon as I finished the wine in my glass, he came over and poured the remainder of it in my glass.
Noise level was above 100 dBm, which is not good for anyone.
It is always a pleasure to visit Celestino's Drago Centro. Having enjoyed his food for many years
in more than one location, we have never been disappointed.
Also his wait staff are highly professional and most attentive to any requests.
Overall, the restaurant is good. I had a Caesar salad which was so so. It needed seasoning. The linguini and clams were good and my husband's risotto was excellent. We will come back again
I went to Drago Centro on a weeknight during a business trip because it was close to my hotel. I ordered the special that night, which was a black truffle pasta. It was delicious! I also had the gelato affogato for dessert, which I enjoyed. The service was great, and I would definitely go again.
Fantastic as always. Can’t wait to go back.
Service was spotty. They would overlook things like I had no lemon in my Arnold
Palmer but all my friends did in theirs. Another example, everyone was provided for olive oil but someone was forgotten and had to request it. Another incident, everyone was given dark napkins except one person (who was wearing a dark suit).
Also I’ve always had the burrata salad when I eat at Dragos. It’s one of my favorite dishes there. This time , the outer of the burrata has a rind. I’ve NEVER experienced that there. I had convinced my friends to order it since I love it so much and they had the same outer “skin” to the burrata. Other than that my pasta was great.
Good food, good service.
Staff was attentive and courteous. They made sure we felt welcome and our meal was an enjoyable experience. The décor and seating areas were very nice and the outdoor space added to the charm of the restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday with our daughter and the restaurant acknowledged her special day which she very much enjoyed.
Excellent service. I came here for a anniversary dinner and the food was delicious, not to mentioned dessert. The chicken I ordered was great. My girlfriend tried the special dinner, and she also found it fantastic. The waiter was real nice and helpful having us to choose what we can order.
Fantastic overall experience, great service and outstanding meal.
Tagliatelle was great.
Drago Centro never disappoints. Fresh, innovative and delicious food with service to match.
A special offered was linguini with truffles...Wonderful
Dining room ambience was nice, but we were definitely not impressed by the service nor the food. The 3 pasta dishes we ordered were quite average but the bistecca, halibut and chicken entrees were good. Overall, we felt the meal was a bit pricey for the food the restaurant served.
The team is always very attentive. The octopus appetizer and venison main course I have had several times in the last few weeks when in LA on business.
Great food and environment
Great service with complimentary pershuto and dessert
Very good food and super service
Dinner here before the Music Center is delicious but pricey. Seafood is the best quality but the cioppiono was short of the most important ingredient. A bit disappointing this time.
Very loud for a business meal
Great service, quality food.
We had one issue with the restaurant on this visit. My husband opted for the halibut on the menu rather than the branzino because the halibut was shown to be served with "jumbo asparagus". What he received was pieces of quite small asparagus. He mentioned this to our server, who very nicely attempted to rectify the situation by bringing him a plate with additional pieces of quite small asparagus. The food was excellent, but we do take issue with the menu stating side dishes that were not served.
Amazing dinner. Traditional Italian with a twist. The service was outstanding!
Fabulous food, lovely presentation, decent price considering the beauty and the perfection. We started with beet salad and the soup special: carrot-ginger poured steaming over onion crisps. The branzino was served with the tail, in the tail, appeared untouched but the bones had been expertly removed and the filet was delicious moist and light. She had the ciocolatto, a blend of chocolate mousses atop a streusel crust. My cheesecake was pretty in a pink raspberry glaze, creamy and fine. The wine list is extensive and selective: one can pay $80-2600 a bottle. I had the quartino of the Primitivo and it was enough for one. Altogether it was an excellent meal. The reason I did not give 5 stars are that the main waiter was inattentive and that the atmosphere was a bit stale. Would I go again? Absolutely. The food was superb.
Always good food and fresh ingredients. Good service and solid wine list. A true staple of DTLA.
Some of the best pasta I have ever had.
We always enjoy Drago Centro when dining DTLA.
