Awful! I have already sent the restaurant a letter but have not received a response! We took our children to a different place than we usually go. We were extremely disappointed. The appetizers camebout at the same time as the entrees and everything was cold. My son's grilled cheese was burned on the outside but the cheese was not melted on the inside. We had asked for another basket of pretzel bites, the waiter said of course but never brought them!
Always delicious food, fun ambiance and an overall enjoyable experience
Service was great. Food, meh. Never had ANYTHING that could be considered a bad meal until this visit. All the dishes were mediocre, including our usual favorite fried Brussels sprouts. Was honestly confused and disappointed
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. My boyfriend has food allergies and they cross contaminated his food with shellfish and he had a severe allergic reaction. The meals were overpriced and the music was so loud I couldn’t hear the person a foot away from me without them yelling.
Great all-around dining experience
Food was good. Service excellent. Only drawback was the noise level. Could not talk across the table without yelling. Would go in the future for drinks, but not dinner.
Great service , great food, can’t ask for more.
Felt very welcomed. Chef Yono came out to greet people at their tables as did his wife Donna. Food was beautiful and delicious! Already looking for an excuse to go back and try the main dining room!!!
Attentive service is one of the hallmarks of this bustling, hip dining spot, which connects chef Dominick Purnomo's approach to that of his father Yono, whose elegant fine-dining establishment can be found through a door near the back. DP's features a variety of offerings for a range of budgets, along with an extensive wine list and a glistening bar.
Recommended for a romantic date or a special occasion; our Valentine's Day 2018 was well-spent here. One disappointment, however, was the lobster ravioli: an excellent preparation, but at $24 for an appetizer-sized portion, you'll likely be left hungry. Nevertheless, our server consulted with an on-staff sommelier to find the perfect wine pairing, a Viognier Blend from Côtes du Rhône, which was well worth the $12 per glass price tag.
Good food, small portions. You just have to stop somewhere to eat when you leave there!
Great service delicious food. Somewhat cramped space and loud.
Food and service were good. It was a bit loud but it didn’t deter our business meeting.
My colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at dp American Brasserie. The food was good, the server was very attentive (although not overly so), and the setting very nice.
This is our third visit to dp American Bistro. The food and service is excellent. We consider it a treat given the prices, but since the food is so good we will definitely return.
Very friendly staff and great service!! The food was delicious!!
We love this place. Was our fourth time there. Crab cakes are huge enough for sharing and truffle fries are crispy and thin. Never had anything that was so so. And sitting there at night with city lit up thru the huge windows is so wonderful.
Trendy hot spot near Capital Repertory Theatre and the Palace. Romantic -- but not quiet.
We love DP’s. It’s our favorite restaurant in Albany. Great food, wonderful service, great ambience. Everything you would want in a great dining experience.
The menu is not very large, but very eclectic, with daily specials also. The service is what really stands out also. This was my second trip to this restaurant, and our waitress Jessica remembered both of our names from our first visit over 2 months previously. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'll be back.
I brought my date here hoping for the best and that’s exactly what we received! 100% the best dinner date i’be had!
Always wonderful at DP’s! The Yono’s are outstanding!!!!
DP An American Brasserie did an exceptional job of making our anniversary a very memorable occasion. Every single staff member made our experience exquisite. Starting with the hostess, who sat us in the most intimate setting in the restaurant. She even took the time to inform our server of what the occasion was for our celebration. The cocktail wine and beer list is extensive, picking the perfect drinks to pair with our meal was no problem thanks to our wonderful and attentive server! She was very in tuned to our desires and the food was on par with the rest of the night! I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion with a significant other.
Always an excellent time at DP’s, from the friendly staff to the amazing food is the perfect restaurant for dinner.
Service was fine and the room is attractive but loud. Food was very disappointing despite this place being owned by one of the best chefs in the area. Textures and flavors were just off. Uninspiring and poorly executed.
The food was beyond amazing! Such great service too!
Excellent meal and outstanding wine selection at reasonable prices. Waitress,. Kathleen was efficient and attention. Lovely evening.
We had a reservation at 5:30pm; 2 adults 2 kids (14&8) before the show. Our waitress was nice , but the food was not. It totally ruined our evening that day... we left the restaurant with a rip-off feeling. I ordered steak frites, my husband ordered duck, kids ordered 2 burgers. Appetizer was fried calamari. Sooo... fried calamari were so salty that no one was able to eat them. We waited about 30 min to get our food and guess what - the only thing that came out hot - was the duck. And that’s it. My steak frites were cold ( I never had a cold steak in my life - so here, there is always a first time for everything), kids’ burgers were cold as well .... the manager came out and offered to reheat my steak - wow, really? Well , she did and guess what - after she “reheated” it - the fries were extremely hot and dry as well as the plate itself, but not the steak- so I had to eat my steak cold.... the burgers were cold and inedible- kids left the restaurant hungry. We paid over $100 for who knows what.... please stay away from this rip off place - unless you want your food to be “ reheated”...
$20 kobe sliders over cooked- burned served in cold rolls. Chicken dumplings (3) arrived cold! Salad and onion soup were acceptable but not for what they cost. I spoke with the owner who to her credit was on the floor. She immediately apologized and told me that we would be paying for NOTHING but our drinks. When the bill came nothing had been deducted. I asked the waitress to pls see the owner for a bill adjust. When she returned we were charged for the soup and salad plus drinks. Really! We just paid and left w/o further ado. I can not recommend this establishment.
We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and we are so glad we did! The staff was friendly and professional. The bartender, Pete, was personable and informative. Walked us through a preview of both dp's and Yono's menu. The owners are present and accessible. Food choices are varied and our appetizers and entrees were delicious! Loved the atmosphere. We plan to go back soon.
This is my 4th visit in last few months. Last 2 visits have led to at least one dinner each time, to be brought to table much later than the rest of my party.
2x's in last few weeks- NOT GOOD
We've eaten lunch at dp and have enjoyed it very much. But they crank up the music to a level that makes it impossible to talk. I think their demographic is people under the age of 60. The food at dp and it's partner, Yono's, is always a delight.
was an incredible experience from greeter through payment wait staff knowledgable and attentive food was 5 star worthy
A good American brasserie, dishes borderline on heavy and old-fashioned, but well-executed in general. Overall, if you happen to pass by Albany, it's worth a try.
Outstanding food and service as always. And they know how to make a drink.
Awesome everything, as always!
This was a really nice place to celebrate our anniversary. Food was delicious and service was great. I was glad we made a reservation because the place filled up pretty quickly after we were seated.
Casual and cozy with great service! Our waitress offered great insights on menu items, she really knew her stuff.
Great food, staff and location. Love thus place and this family!!!
Showed up after a 3 hour trip from Canada with an antsy toddler. Our waiter, Joshua, and the rest of the staff were amazing in accommodating us.
Great evening. The food, service and ambiance was top notch!!
