dp An American Brasserie
At just under 2000 sq ft with 18 foot ceilings and an abundance of natural lighting from six oversized windows, dp is a room that demands attention. Our dining room offers a mix of table & banquette seating in a decidedly more casual atmosphere than Yono’s.
It features a 25 foot custom mahogany and granite bar stocked with a full array of spirits, cordials, and of course myriad wines by the glass. We pride our beverage program on fresh, seasonally inspired cocktails, & by the glass wine program, ever-changing, that rivals any in the region. Guests are also invited to peruse the 1,000 selection Wine Spectator “Best of Award of Excellence” winning Yono’s wine list.

Taylor, our server, was a delight. We are hoping to go back tomorrow for small plates and dessert. Wonderful time overall.
There was a packed house there. Very very loud. I ordered the steak and frites, my steak came out Luke warm and rare, not medium rare as requested. My cheese plate was mediocre. Service was good especially considering how busy and understaffed it was, they can’t help that. For the price of the food I expected it to be much more high end than what it is.
Always an excellent dining experience!!
Our dinner was very good. The squash, cheese, special salad was an outstanding starter. Due to large crowd for the symphony, the noise level was a bit high. Service was generally great—Morgan was terrific. We initially received the wrong dessert, but it was promptly corrected.
A great dinner and atmosphere. The tomahawk for 2 was perfect.
Always an excellent dining experience!
The hands down best restaurant in Albany! Always a perfect meal
Service is outstanding at dp An American Brasserie but the prices are very high. If you want an entree less than $25 you are limited to salads and hamburgers.
The service was slow but they prepared and birthday greeting menu for my sister.
Highly recommend this restaurant the owners are also great contributors to the overall Albany community
Went to restaurant prior to ribbon cutting at theRep could not have had a more enjoyable evening. Great food, service and company. Loved the pretzel nuggets/mustard which they served.
We were lucky to get a last minute reservation last night. We had a wonderful meal. Everything was delicious. We especially loved the Cheese Board, Onion Soup and Dumplings. Extraordinary food. Cannot wait to visit again.
Loved the PEI mussels with the delectable, perfectly spiced sauce.
The wines we had were great too.
Food was excellent. Only thing I would mention is the mussels my daughter had about a third of them did not open so they couldn’t be eaten which was disappointing as they were delicious and it was tough to waste them. The other thing isn’t he noise level was very high due to a large table that was quite loud so you couldn’t hear the server or each other talk. Overall the food was delicious and innovative and we will definitely be back.
Different selection of food--food is good--fun place to go.
Perfect meal!! Staff was welcoming without being intrusive, offering helpful suggestions for beers and entrees. Food was beautifully presented, and at perfect temperature, including special requests. Could not have been better!!
Always delicious food. Save room for dessert. Great cocktails and even the "free spirit" or non-alcoholic drinks are delightful.
Our waitress Alice was wonderful!
The food was decent but very high prices for very small portions of food that was just alright
As always, dp was fantastic - the food was delicious and the service was attentive and highly professional. Happy to recommend!
Food was good, place was very noisy, our waitress had zero personality.
As usual fabulous food , perfect cocktails ... surpassed only by the service! Anthony is the best behind the bar....On this visit we had the pleasure of having Ana as our server she was professional, attentive and made our evening perfect ... DP is the place to be in downtown Albany !
Don’t. A hotel restaurant with cold small steaks, without much of an apology or offer to deduct from bill. “Indonesian” noodles = salty soy ramen. There’s better out there.
A great place for a “nicer” meal without getting too fancy. Good mix of casual dining classics and gourmet options. Staff was friendly, service was prompt.
Food was excellent. Dumplings rival best of NYC. Burgers, too. Fries could use an upgrade but I quibble. Service attentive but not overbearing.
My steak had a large pat of herbed butter on top but the steak wasn’t warm enough and it sat frozen until I finally pushed it off. My wife didn’t fare much better finding a hair in her cheeseburger. Otherwise a pleasant experience.
Excellent service and dinner was amazing…loved the ambiance and menu had great options.
Birthday dinner at our favorite restaurant Never disappoints.
Good food and service generally, 4 of our party got drink special that was poured 2/3 full, very lightly poured. our party of 6 asked to leave because next reservation was waiting.
Celebrated birthday in style!!
Waitstaff was so nice, and accommodating with our three year old, even bringing chocolate milk in a plastic cup- something I really did not expect there.
The onion soup is absolutely the best I have ever had, and was served perfectly hot.
Burger of the day was absolutely decadent, and so were the fries.
The signature Bakmi Indonesian noodles are the perfect comfort food.
Room was welcoming, busy enough to feel warm, but not so crowded that we felt rushed.
Can't wait to go back!!
Anthony was great!!
Such a good place to eat! Found this online and LOVED it! Very accommodating and extremely delicious! Everyone is so friendly and the ambience was beautiful. Will definitely be back!
Food and drinks were excellent. Service was excellent. Noise from the bar (including bartender) was excessive; why must they bellow and shout rather than simply talk? We suggest they be reminded this restaurant is not about them.
