Sommeliers have been a part of society since the days when their tasks were to sample the wines before royalty to ensure that they were fit for them to drink. Over the last few hundred years, sommeliers have become as integral to the fine dining experience as chefs, ensuring that guests receive the perfect wines to accompany & enhance their food. Below, are a few former sommeliers who have now turned their attention and skills to winemaking, creating wines that have a food first approach. These wines are made with balance and restraint and are wholeheartedly made with the intention of magnifying the joy of the dining experience
Greg Harrington, Master Sommelier, founded Walla Walla Valley's Gramercy Cellars in 2005. Prior to that, Harrington was the wine director for Stephen Hansen's BR Guest restaurants, Emeril Lagasse & Wolfgang Puck managing as many as 15 wine programs at a time
Rajat Parr has been the wine director for Chef Michael Mina's 15 restaurants since 2003. He also owns RN74 restaurants along with Michael Mina in San Francisco & Seattle. He founded Sandhi wines in 2010 and focuses on making wines in the Santa Rita Hills area of Santa Barbara County

Felt very welcomed. Chef Yono came out to greet people at their tables as did his wife Donna. Food was beautiful and delicious! Already looking for an excuse to go back and try the main dining room!!!
Attentive service is one of the hallmarks of this bustling, hip dining spot, which connects chef Dominick Purnomo's approach to that of his father Yono, whose elegant fine-dining establishment can be found through a door near the back. DP's features a variety of offerings for a range of budgets, along with an extensive wine list and a glistening bar.
Recommended for a romantic date or a special occasion; our Valentine's Day 2018 was well-spent here. One disappointment, however, was the lobster ravioli: an excellent preparation, but at $24 for an appetizer-sized portion, you'll likely be left hungry. Nevertheless, our server consulted with an on-staff sommelier to find the perfect wine pairing, a Viognier Blend from Côtes du Rhône, which was well worth the $12 per glass price tag.

This is our third visit to dp American Bistro. The food and service is excellent. We consider it a treat given the prices, but since the food is so good we will definitely return.

We love this place. Was our fourth time there. Crab cakes are huge enough for sharing and truffle fries are crispy and thin. Never had anything that was so so. And sitting there at night with city lit up thru the huge windows is so wonderful.

We love DP’s. It’s our favorite restaurant in Albany. Great food, wonderful service, great ambience. Everything you would want in a great dining experience.
The menu is not very large, but very eclectic, with daily specials also. The service is what really stands out also. This was my second trip to this restaurant, and our waitress Jessica remembered both of our names from our first visit over 2 months previously. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'll be back.
