   Lovely setting, view to die for. Same food as the formal sit down dinner of the Doyle Restaurant. Guitar/vocalist could have played longer. Whilst a little overpriced that’s what you expect in Sydney. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on such a perfect day weather wise.

   We were disappointed with the size of the serve of Baked Tasmanian Scallops with roasted tomato & nduja butter and basil. The cost was $22 and the dish consisted of three scallops in their shells. At nearly $8 for one scallop, this was excessive. It was an entree size, not a main and should be sold that way to meet customer expectations. We had to order an additional dish as this was just not substantial enough for a lunch. We ordered the serve of fish tacos (3 to a serve) which was so much more substantial there was no comparison. The rest of the party ordered a prawn salad each but we did order a side of chips which then made the meal sufficient. Yes, the setting is amazing, the view is to die for but Doyles shouldn't rest on that when you are charging these prices. Also, when tapping to pay at the register, there is a choice of 4 or 5 options to add a gratuity. My friend who paid didn't have her glasses on. As a result she pressed one of the buttons that almost doubled the cost of her meal. This is clearly meant to catch people out and is pretty cheeky. Would I go to the Garden Bar again? Yes, most definitely, but I will be a lot more discerning with what I order - once bitten, twice shy.

   The service etc was very good on the 7th April for lunch. My concern is that the snapper that I received was not cooked properly I actually had to use a knife to cut it into pieces. I tried my partners snapper (she could not eat it all) hers, the fish just fell apart. By that stage I had already finished my serving. It was about 5 hours later I paid the penalty of a toilet run from the poorly cooked fish. If I realised that the fish was going to have that result on my stomach I would have complained. I found that day was very disappointing compared to another day we had lunch there back on a very wet day in September.

   Slow to seat despite there being lots of tables available. cocktails were great, scallops were also great. Prawns/fried calamari not so good - overall food was average. Atmosphere/outside was lovely though.

   The food was really nice! however I was turned off as I received a glass that had thick red lipstick on it. My husband returned it to the bar with no apologies or acknowledgement at all, just a nod of the bartenders head. We order a cob loaf which was delicious however, the plate it was served on was wet, which made the cob loaf all soggy underneath. I feel a bit more attention is needed in these areas! The food I could not fault!

   Great table close to the seafront. Relaxed ambiance. Food was good but would have preferable service

   Recommended by a friend for lunch. Short, pleasant ferry from Circular Quay. Lovely situation. Busy but pleasantly so. Tasty food. Not cheap but such is their popularity and lack of competition, they can afford to mark up.

    Staff were not experienced or welcoming Food was below average especially for the price Felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant
