Food was not good. The chicken was so dry it was tough to eat. Very disappointed
My first time to Woodfire Grill and it was a business meeting. Everything was great!
Glad I tried it and now looking forward to coming back with my family!
Very pleasant waiter the food was delicious and the value is spot on
Fantastic experience! Great service, wonderful food all close to Xcel. Will definitely be back!!
As always...great food, great service, great atomosphere.
Always a wonderful experience.
We got an early reservation since we know it can get busy on Sundays after church. Service was attentive and professional, food was delicious (as always) and atmosphere casual but upscale also.
I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant...but this was a mediocre outing.
We had reservations at 11:30 for Brunch. While we arrived early they did not seat us until well after 11:30. Many people came in after us and they were seated immediately. Finally they seated us at a table in the bar area that was empty the entire time. Service was slow. While a drink order was taken first, our food almost came out before the drinks. Sad, this place looked nice but not worth it.
We were visiting from Omaha to see a concert @ Xcel. Made reservations for Sunday brunch and had great food and a great experience. We also felt it was reasonably priced especially for the quality and amount of food we received. Would definitely recommend!!
Awesome as always. Moe is amazing, and keeps the place warm and pleasant. Great food and great atmosphere make it a go to place for us. And you can't beat live piano music on Sunday mornings!
Host/hostess was very good. Server was very good. Fettuccini Alfredo was very good but chef had dumped too much parsley on it and had to puck off quite a bit to make it edible. Husbands stead potatoes and veggies were awesome.
The food was good. Prices reasonable but the service was very slow. I had to call someone to refill our empty water over by saying “excuse me” to our waiter as he was walking away from the table next to us for the 2nd time without even looking at us. I have never done anything like that before. The place was only about 1/2 full.
I would probably not go back due to the poor service and slow food.
Food and service were okay but they let us park in the lot while we went to the show at the Xcel Center which was a huge bonus. Paid $20 to park, they reimbursed the $20 on our tab and we were allowed to leave our car there all night. Huge bonus and made up for the average food and service.
Pizza was so good, drinks were delish. Great place to go right before a concert with the family
Greek Salad did not taste Greek but more like an Italian dressing salad. . It was fresh, had a few olives etc but could use a bit enhancing for the price.
Anniversary. At least 3 staff members wished us a happy anniversary. Thought it was a nice touch. A little pricy but not overly so.
As always, excellent food and service. Thank you for another outstanding experience!
They were very busy so our service was a little slow. Overall, everything was great as usual. Love the live music!
My husband and I had a wonderful brunch at the Downtowner yesterday, Father's day. He ordered vegetarian Eggs Benedict and I ordered greek scrambled eggs. Everything was satisfactory
the coffee was robust and delicious,
the hash browns were tasty and crispy as we asked for,
the dishes were well spiced and very tasty.
The service was attentive and courteous in spite of the restaurant being very crowded.
The food came to the table hot and in a timely fashion.
Crazy busy on Father’s Day, reservations were backed up and it seemed like they had it set in stone what table we were to get. So was a little dismayed that walk ins were seated before us while we waited 20 minutes on our reservation (10:30 table sat at 10:48). Then given a table right in the entry way. 10 minutes later they called us for our “reserve” table in back. Server was distracted by 2 large tables so we felt like an afterthought. Fabulous food, just not a place on a busy day.
My husband and I both had the Cajun breakfast and it was fabulous. Love the piano player on Sunday’s.
Father's Day breakfast, Moe and his staff are awesome. We love this place. It made my Father's day.
Overall, a nice dinner on Friday evening. service was good. Able to talk and catch up while enjoying some tasty food.
This is one of pour favorites. The only negative is limited parking.
Everyone was very pleased by the dishes they ordered. No complaints of any kind. We don't get to the Downtowner enough. We will remedy that!
Swordfish kebabs were served quickly once order placed. Some of the fish pieces were dry and tasteless. Grilled squash was over cooked. Wait staff was busy. Asked for more iced tea. Had to ask for dessert and got iced tea after finishing my meal. This visit was not up to their usual high standards. Will assume it was a fluke and will look forward to a better experience next time.
Solid menu, great ambiance, host outstanding, waitstaff regular, timing great. Ceviche is really a salad, little "meat", with enough chips to make it a nachos plate, mojito way too sweet, mussels on the spaghetti had seen a better day, days ago. My mate's salmon and basmati rice, outstanding.
Loved that on a Saturday night the place was not packed as usual, thanks to no events at Xcel I presume. The free parking is wonderful!!!
Perhaps because it was a quiet evening or early in the evening, our food was a bit off. The waitress as well as she was uncertain of what we were saying and then responded as if she was certain of the question. But in offense to my companion, my 95 year old mother, when mother spoke the waitress then turned to answer me, not her. Even when she had a question for Mom, she would ask me, not her.
The Alfredo sauce was not as she described and was actually not white (as asked) and pretty blah. It was described as creamy (was heavy) with strong garlic but what garlic? Later the waitress said she orders onions to pep the alfredo up. Wish we knew vs how she had responded earlier. But the shrimp on it were incredibly perfect and full of flavor.
The steak salad was amazingly tender but also not as described in the menu, no onions to be found and the dressing made the leaves in the bowl swim. Otherwise would order it again.
The menu was a delight to consider as there is wonderful variety of delicacies.
I consider us to be pretty easy going when it comes to eating out as it is always a treat.
Birthday with family
Great service and excellent food. We haven't been to the Downtower in a few years, and we were not disappointed. I left my credit card behind and received a voicemail message about the card. If I would have not used Open Table they wouldn't know how to contact me.
Only fault was celebrating my mother-in-law’s 95th Birthday without a cake
One of if not the best restaurant in St. Paul. Thanks Moe!
Always great food and service if there was one thing I would like is hash browns on there dinner menu
Great service...excellent drinks!
Yummy food, great service! Highly recommend!!
Consistently good food and outstanding customer service. Definitely one of our go-to places.
Excellent food and service was a bit hurried which was completely appropriate for the situation: restaurant very near a major venue and everyone was dining before a Cher concert. Didn't affect the food (excellent) but the servers were a bit harried. No complaints, however, as host and servers were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Really enjoyed our time there.
Surprisingly delicious experience all the way around. Would def return.
