Downtowner Woodfire Grill Ratings and Reviews
Waitress had too many tables. 3 times we asked what the soup was. Never brought me my salad. Cold mashed potatoes Cold Veggies. Great NYStrip however. Waitress came to table 3/4 of the way thru my steak and told her about them. She offered new potatoes but no veggies. By the time the manager came over we were done eating he only advised how quick they can turn potatoes around. Da. How about just taking them off my bill. Nope. Great steak and desert. We typically go their before MN Wild games. Maybe time for a new choice
Such a nice environment. Quiet enough and tables not too close together so you can have a nice conversation. I tried one of the fire roasted items and was not particularly impressed, but there were many other items on the menu that I will try when I return. Service was very pleasant and not pushy. All this and their own private parking lot beside the restaurant - can't beat it!
We arrived early but they were able to seat us head of time at a nice table. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable to talk. The amazing aroma of the chef’s delights made ordering difficult. Everything was delicious and the service good. Our waitress had an annoying high pitched theatrical voice but was attentive and did a nice job. I would recommend the place.
We had a less than stellar experience at your restaurant. It took almost 10 minutes for us to be greeted and then when we were acknowledged it was really poor. The server did an alright job going over the menu but unfortunately didn’t tell us about the specials. 2 minutes later we heard her telling another table about the specials which we would have ordered but at that point it was too late. Everything was mediocre and nothing was memorable. We won’t be back.
Went here for my birthday, told them that in Open table and mentioned it but no recognition at all. Not a big deal for us but may be for others.
Food, had lamb special and it was wonderful! Had Roasted red pepper soup it was ok.
Son had pizza, and daughter had Fettuccini Alfredo. They both liked it.
Desserts were all very good. Went here as there was variety for us all.
This was our first time at Downtowner. Love the atmosphere, and is easy to get to. Good menu selections. we were there for lunch. After we received our glass of wine, after waiting for 35 minutes, I had to get up and find our server and ask her to come take our order. Once that occurred, she was very attentive.
This was our first time at this restaurant and we were NOT disappointed. The first thing we noticed was the quiet.....we could hear each other talk. The food was delicious......we both had skewers.....very healthy. Our server was friendly and efficient and made great recommendations. The décor is very lovely. The onsite parking is a bonus.
The chilren's menu was good and a great value. Adults, not so much. The dinner menu listed all items (or maybe most) accompanied by grilled veggies, a joke. The veggie quantity was hardly a garnish. The grilled meat skewers were OK, with a huge quantity of rice, or tasteless mashed potatoes upon request. The gluten free items were plainly marked, but there was only one GF appetizer. The server got several orders wrong, otherwise OK. I expected more flavorful food.
Nice fireplace helps the ambiance in the winter. NY strip steak was a little flavorless and over cooked, but still good overall. Swordfish kabob had great flavor, only downside was it was a little dry. Basmati rice was delicious.
Server was friendly and attentive. Didn't know the wine menu well but was helpful in brining out two bottles to read the labels.
