My review is specifically for the Ribbon Room restaurant portion. I was there 6 months ago and had a great experience however returning this time they have changed a lot of things and now have a loud band playing as soon as you walk in the front room which is now a bar area with the restaurant part is in a separate room behind it. It was just way too loud and annoying for dinner. Had I known that they made those changes, I wouldn’t have made reservations. We were attending a show at the Ryman and wanted somewhere close to get in and out quickly. I know it’s Nashville but not every restaurant needs a loud band playing. Our food took over 45 minutes and was not very warm. The fries were barely cooked. They did bring us new fries in less than 10 minutes that were perfect. However, I’m not sure why the meal took so long but our new fries were brought to us so quickly. The fish is really good however it’s not a place I would seek out going to unless I was already downtown for something else. Our server was very sweet.
Surprising oasis right on the madness of Broadway. Loved the booths, TV's the food and old school vibe.
Oh and don't miss the worlds best tots!
Just not for our group ....with a party of 9 only one menu order was food which was the soup. Burgers were dry, fish was small and over cooked, and I could go on. Music from front room was loud even in the back dining room. Would not go again.
Great food, and excellent service. Lively area. The games within the establishment is an added touch.
Would only recommend for the bar scene not for dinner. Limited menu and to loud to have a conversation
An incredibly disappointing lunch for a Goldberg Brothers establishment. How do you mess up wings? The Ruben resembles a chipped beef sandwich - not appealing in the slightest. The decor is 'repo' minimalist on the first floor ... maybe on purpose maybe just lazy.
We will not return.
Amazing food in the heart of downtown
The restaurant was ok, nothing spectacular. We made the mistake of going on a Saturday night with my family and my son’s friends. I had to convince the bouncer that i was eating dinner there and that my 14 year old didn’t have ID and was not drinking. Once we got to the restaurant part, the managers took care of us. The food was only ok. My son has a sesame allergy and asked if the kitchen had an alternative to the sesame covered bun for his burger. He got 2 slices of bread with it. There are better options if you want to eat in Nashville.
When we arrived, we had a reservation but they didn't seem to be very organized and we had to wait 15 mins and they finally came back and sat us. When we were sat, we wanted to watch the UGA game and our table was right near the tv showing it which was great. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating. About half way through, the tv changed off the game and we had asked FOUR times to have it changed back and every time we were ignored and nothing changed. FINALLY after another ask, our waitress got them to change the game back on. The food was mediocre for the price. Wasn't the experience we were hoping for. The website is misleading.
The Downtown Sporting Club is an interesting mix of cultures and options. We went for dinner before a Preds game, and it was pretty loud in the dining area - but, the food and service were terrific!
Terrible service, mediocre food!
It was loud! The PPark burger is good... It used to coat $16 when it was actually PPark, now it is $16. The drinks were average. Our server was great. With all the choices downtown, probably won’t be back.
Great venue for a Predator's pregame dinner. Jess provided great service and our food was really tasty. I recommend the deviled eggs and chopped salad. The drinks hit the spot, too!
A group of us locals went for Sunday breakfast. The food was delicious -- comfort with upscale touches, like the homemade sweeteners and killer hash browns. Eggs Benedict with shaved country ham was a favorite. The dining room, with its rolled leather banquettes and mid-century vibe, has a nice club-like feel -- a welcome departure from the industrial chic so rampant these days and more conducive to conversation. TVs are on sports, but not invasive. We enjoyed an unhurried breakfast and, by the time we finished, the areas beyond the dining room were teeming with people playing beer pong and board games, axe throwing and backgammon to follow. So much fun. Highly recommend this experience.
I highly recommend this place if you have a big group & want to be on Broadway! We got a reservation easily the day of for 10 people. The drinks were good, the food was okay but a bit overpriced in our opinions. After dinner we went to the rooftop which was so fun! It was energetic and had a good view of the strip without being too crowded. Our group ranged in age from 22 to 60 (family outing) and we all loved it. We were able to dance, play the games, & socialize. It was a great time!
Would not go back, poor service and poor food and drink selections.
Came in for brunch and to watch the Titans football game. Great time all around.
We loved it! The food, the service, the atmosphere, all of it was great. We will definitely be back to experience some of the other food options there. The rooftop bar area was awesome too.
Great cocktails. We were early so we didn’t eat a true dinner.
Food was just ok. If you go just order bar food do not try to go with anything like shrimp and grits. My daughter ordered these and did not like them. The burgers were solid and fries were great. I ordered a Manhattan and it came with simple syrup in it and it looked more like a bourbon and Sprite so I sent it back. The second try was spot on so I am not sure what happened on round 1 but clearly some training needed behind the bar. Overall, I liked the ambiance but the restaurant was slow and Broadway was booming so maybe that should have been a warning sign. Server gave us the bill without being asked so I guess he knew we were not real happy. Overall, good spot if you want somewhere quiet to take a break from the madness of Broadway but stick to beers and burgers.
We had a great time! Food was delicious and atmosphere was great.
This is our second visit to The Ribbon Room at Downtown Sporting Club. We love this little hidden restaurant on the ground floor of DSC. Our server was Nicole and she was amazing! My daughter has
many food allergies and she was great to check and make sure no trigger allergens would be in her meal. She was super friendly and very professional!
We also had the MOD, Kelly, check on us and how our meal and service was. She was also very friendly great to talk to. The food is really good to excellent. The pork chop is one of the best we have ever had, the filet and salmon was also delicious, as well as the cocktails. The only negative comment is that the accompaniment the amazing salmon was served atop, the cauliflower was almost cold. Definitely Recommend!
Not the atmoshpehre or level of service I was lead to believe at the Ribbon Room. Overall place is fine for axe throwing and sports bar-esque. Very loud- could not have a discussion at my booth. food was good, but expected something more.
I normally don’t write reviews but this was a bad experience, the food was subpar. The Rueben tasted like store brand pressed meat friend had the double burger and it had zero flavor. The Ribbon room back room was extremely loud with a band playing in the front room. Could not talk.
One plus was the waiting staff they were excellent too bad they work where the food is bland.
It was very good. The drink prices were a bit outlandish and my margarita was mainly tequila (wouldn’t normally complain butttt a bit more flavor besides straight tequila would’ve been nice)
Stopped in for Breakfast before heading back home. Amazing breakfast with unique, fresh and tasty options. When you would rather have something fresh versus traditional southern flair, this is the place to go! And save room for some doughnut holes! They come out piping hot and delicious! Our server, John, was so attentive and made our experience so relaxing.
Super cute venue, and excellent service. Food was fine. Solid wine list. Great round booths - so if dining with a crew of 4-6 - it’s a stellar seating option.
This was our first visit to Downtown Sporting Club. I took my son there for lunch before I took him to the airport to go back to college . Our waitress and the manager made us feel so special. They gave us a surprise mother and son sun-dae. So very sweet. Great service great food really good vibe . We will be back for sure .
Not too crowded
Our server, Harrison, was excellent, as well as our food & drinks! We dined in the Ribbon Room, and had a great experience. Thank you!
Did not know if ax throwing would fun BUT we had a ball. We had super coach (Nathan) and were pleased that a bunch of novices could succeed and have fun. We decided to stay and eat dinner too. REALLY good food. Loved the cauliflower appetizer. Would definitely return.
Very nice place and the customer service was fantastic!
The service and drinks were great, but the food was mediocre. The horseradish tots were just regular tater tots with a horseradish sauce, which was not spicy at all. I ordered the turkey club, and my husband got a burger. We both ordered side salads, which was a bowl of arugula with a very watery blue cheese dressing that had no flavor. There were no cucumbers, tomatoes, or any other veggies on the salad - just greenery. My turkey club was nothing to write home about, and my husband said his burger was just ok. Overall, the food was nothing spectacular. Honestly for the price we expected more.
Such a great atmosphere! We had a date night and first had dinner at the Ribbon Room on the 1st floor. It was fabulous! We both had burgers/fries and it was fabulous! I also had the Lay Low cocktail and it was very yummy! We then ventured up to the 2nd floor for some axe-throwing and games and even spent time at the rooftop bar. It was a great night! Highly recommend!
Great and reasonably priced meal in the Ribbon Room. Wonderful variety of drinks. Helpful and pleasant staff. Axe throwing was the bomb!
First time here. Food/options and service were exceptional. Atmosphere was inviting and fun. The noise level was a bit more energetic than expected for Dinner at the Ribbon.
We celebrated my son's 18th Birthday here. Unfortunately, we were not able to secure an axe throwing lane, but it looked like a lot of fun and we will definitely go back and try it again. As soon as we were greeted, my son was wished a Happy Birthday. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The ground floor restaurant has a cool, retro, speak easy vibe with old sporting decor. Most of our dining choices were good-confide it higher end bar food. From tator tots, queso, sliders, burgers-it was all good. Our parties favorite was the mac and cheese. The second floor houses more casual game tables. Several were playing Sorry and Checkers. Lots of TV's. I think this will be a big hit during the football season. Axe throwing is on the second floor. What makes this place distinct is their third floor which houses 16 hotel rooms. We were not able to see the rooms, but from what I saw online they looked quite nice. The fourth floor has an area that can be rented out for private functions and a decent size rooftop bar, overlooking Broadway. All in all, I would go back again and we had an enjoyable evening.
Really enjoyed this spot- great food, really nice service. Highly recommend!
A very nice break from the live music and bar food conveniently located on Broadway. Everyone we spoke to was more than helpful and a pleasure to talk with. The patty melt was the best I've ever tasted and they put a new spin on the traditional shrimp and grits by bringing just a little heat to the dish.
Good but not great.
Food was mediocre but service and ambience were pretty good
