Indoor and outdoor seating available.
The Downtown Bistro has become our favorite place down the cape for dinner.
We brought two of our best friends to dinner and they loved it as much as we do. We consider the owner to be a friend. A friend who runs a great restaurant and really cares about his guests and the food.
I am not much of a presentation person, but each of our four dishes was like a picture from a food magazine. Plus we were given the best table in the restaurant in front of the window. The food was as good as it looked, the service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable.
The menu was varied and also unique. My friend had what he said was a steak house quality sirloin, I had an amazing shrimp stir fry and the girls had a meatloaf that was on the specials that night and the salmon.
I could go on forever. This is a restaurant you don't want to miss. be sure to ask to meet the owner and tell him Frank sent you.
PS No I am not a neighbor or relative or the owner. Just a raving fan of the Bistro.
Maybe it was a bad night but I was not impressed. Portions were small, service inattentive until small-talk moments before the presentation of the bill and the food was way over dressed. Skip this one.
While on a bus tour of New England celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary we were looking for a place in Hyannis to go to dinner. We found Downtown Bistro online and made our reservation through OpenTable and I’m so glad we did. They seated us in a quiet area of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was superb. The owner made a point of coming over to our table and congratulated us on our 50 years of marriage. He also comped our dessert which was totally unexpected. All in all, the Downtown Bistro made our anniversary extra special.
We had a great time at the Downtown Bistro! We were made to feel really welcome and the food was absolutely delicious. Cocktails went down a treat too. Highly recommended.
Our group of three friends had different fish dishes - scallops, salmon and tuna tataki. All were excellent, which isn't always the case when a restaurant serves a variety of food styles from Italian to Asian.
It wa perfect
The owner is really trying, and right there. A good spot wih them success
Always a comfortable spot for good food. Unique flavors added to traditional meats and seafood.
We spent a couple of days in the wider cape cod area and had comparable dishes at different establishments. Downtown Bistro had the best prepared dishes of all. Only improvement would be the ambience, we were in a booth (nice) but right at the back with some stations for the waiters and close to the bathroom hallway. That could be setup better.
Another amazing meal full of culinary masterpieces!
Our favorite restaurant! Bianca is always our waitress-she is fabulous. Tim the owner is always present to shake hands and say hello.
Walking in the hostess was at an outside stand we walked up told her we had a reservation and our name she just looked at us and said ok then walked us in the restaurant she stopped us in the hallway and just stood there a waitress came up and asked her what she was doing she didn’t answer her then handed the menus and us off to another hostess who didn’t talk to us and just brought us to a table and left. The waitress however was very friendly. The food came out fast and was really good. The noise level was really loud. There was no music but trying to talk to someone at your table was as if they had live music playing. There wasn’t much room between tables which could also be why it was so loud. Overall the experience was good the waitress and food was worth going back.
It is such a cute place. The staff was very friendly, made you feel at home. The food was absolutely amazing! We went down the Cape for a concert and this place is very close to the Melody Tent. I would highly recommend Downtown Bistro and would definitely go there again.
Great Good food lots of it! Nice service people!
Twice in three days! Meals are always good and service always greT
Consistency is their hallmark, and these guys are aces across the board. Service, quality, value. You can tell that they don’t take your business for granted. Had the sirloin on Caesar salad this time......fantastic
Prompt, friendly service. Dinner was okay, not great.
Food and service were excellent! We had to tuna tartari and a salmon plate with pesto.
I went with my family—the menu has some oddities that I think would give Gordon Ramsay a heart attack, but our meal was fine if a little bland. The service was excellent, friendly, and prompt. We had a quiet spot out back.
Brought my parents here for their first time. We frequent the Bistro and love the food, atmosphere and the service! Always have a fabulous meal along with friendly service. This is our first choice if we are going out!
The coffee crusted pork tenderloin is a very good dish. While I don't have any complaints, the high percentage of 5 star reviews on google and yelp are not warranted. There are a number of Cape Cod restaurants worthy of 5 stars by local standards (e.g., Vers, Spinnaker, Inaho, Brewster Fish House) -- (also Viera and Del Mar are much better versions of this level restaurant.
Great food and service. Crabcake appetizer delicious.
Excellent meal...loved the cioppino and seared tuna! Owner/manager stopped by our table and staff was very helpful with my elderly guest. Would definitely return.
Downtown Bistro was a great discovery. While a little higher priced than some other Hyannis restaurants the quality, variety and presentation of the food was excellent and completely worthwhile.
Highly recommend this restaurant. The food is wonderful and the service is excellent. In addition, the owner personally greets his patrons with a warm smile and is genuinely interested in their opinions and ensuring that they have a great meal.
Great food and service, priced a little bit high for the location and ambiance
The food was terrific, the service could not have been better. The only issue, where improvements should be made are the cleanliness of the rest rooms.
Nick is awesome and Tim was kind to come out and check on us outside.
Deanna was an amazing waitress and we would love to be with her again!
My favorite new restaurant in Hyannis!! The menu is excellent - the help is great and friendly. The owner is attentive.
What else can you ask for
Downtown Bistro is always delicious with great service. I would recommend it to locals & visitors. They have a unique culinary twist on some favorites! A sure bet!
Ladies night out, sat in the outdoor garden. Delicious drinks and food. Waitress delightful. Manager/Ownet stopped at table to see how we were doing. Great from start to finish. Will be back!
Fabulous meal! We were a group of five and everyone ordered something different and it was five stars all around! Great variety on the menu and the hand-crafted cocktails were outstanding! We’ll definitely be back and will be telling our friends and relatives on the Cape!
It was a perfect evening, food perfect and delicious, we sat outside and it was a beautiful evening and our server was lovely
Wonderful evening! Dined in the beautiful garden bistro behind the restaurant. Tim has created a private oasis in downtown Hyannis. The perfect place for a peaceful al fresco dining experience. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was outstanding!
Our experience was outstanding. The food was superb and the service the same. We can not wait to come back. We actually talked about coming back in September just so we can come back to your restaurant . Thank you it made our weekend.
Loved the quiet outside seating in the rear. Pistachio encrusted halibut was very good, as was the tomato basil bisque. But they didn't serve bread! Odd.
Food was excellent, service at table friendly and good but almost one hour to get first course??
Great food, our waiter was very sweet and accommodating. We sat outside it was a beautiful night, but noisy on the street. Next time I would try to get a table outdoors in the back. I didn’t know there was space there until I left
Although the service was excellent, I was really disappointed in the meal. The sirloin strip cost $29 and was less than an inch thick. It was three dollars extra for a small serving of mashed potatoes. Poor value for an unsatisfying meal.
