house smoked salmon, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, thousand island, toasted marbled rye
chives and croutons
romaine, butternut squash, house-cured bacon, pumpkin seeds, gorgonzola vinaigrette
We were 15 minutes early for our reservation, was told our table was being prepared and wasn’t seated until 15 minutes after our reservation time. We watched 5 party’s seated before us.
We were minorities, which made us very uncomfortable.
Our server was fantastic.
We’re out of the chicken Gorgonzola salad. Lighting is awful.
Usually good, never great, and always expensive. Yet, we keep going back because it's one of the more reliable restaurants in Friday Harbor.
We started lunch with cocktails - I had the Grenade 75 (gin, champagne and pomegranate juice, a variation on the French 75). Great smoked salmon “Rubin” - a great take on the deli standard. Wife had the spice prawns over pasta (i got a sample). We shared the spicy roasted spicy cauliflower.
Very attentive server.
Best view in FH.
Food was delicious and well proportioned. Delivery was a little slow for our liking. Noise was biggest issue: no sound suppression, our table felt right in the middle of the conversations of the two adjacent tables. I hope owners will do something: carpets or curtains or both.
very good food. beautiful setting. a bit pricy. good service
Delicious!! Our second visit here. Wedge salad was best I’ve had Crab tots very good, could use a dash of spice, the smoked salmon rueben was amazing!!Great location right at ferry terminal with view of the marina. Definitely will come back again
We had the calamari appetizer, scallop gnocchi, and ribeye steak- all were very good and potions were generous.
Great view of harbor and nice ambiance. The flat iron steak was good, could have been more tender.
More veggies and less potatoes with the steak would have made it much better.
We had a wonderful experience with amazing cocktails and great service. The food was phenomenal and I'd definitely recommend to anyone.
Fish and chips were fabulous and the view was amazing!
Server was indifferent. Food was pretty good but overpriced. My order came out wrong.
Great food! Our server was awesome!
Food and service was above average. Like others in FH, the prices are high
Nice restaurant on the marina at Friday Harbor. Very loud as it is one large dining room and no buffer between dining room and bar. Service was slow, but it was a busy Friday night. Had the flat iron steak and it was fantastic. Properly prepared and seasoned. Overall, a very good dining experience.
Although we had a reservation, we had to wait for our table for 10 minutes, even though when we were brought to it, we saw that it had been available the entire time we'd waited. Very frustrating. It took another 10 minutes for our server to show up. He took our drink order and another 10 minutes went by before he served us our drinks. The restaurant did not appear to be overly busy. There were a few open tables. Either they were short staffed our our server was inexperienced. He apologized for the late drinks by bringing us some free bread. Our meals were very good. When our server brought us our bill, he told us that our order never went through and he had to manually enter it again. I thought that was strange because our dinner was the only thing that came in an appropriate time. I think he must have been inexperienced. The food was very good and the location was nice, right near the water, where the ferry comes and goes. Try it for the food and ambiance.
I was disappointed in the quality of the food. Restaurant is beautiful and the view is lovely, however our meal was bland. Everything was under seasoned, and I expected more given the pricing.
The halibut was outstanding and the rhubarb berry crisp was divine. The biggest surprise was the vanilla fig martini...so good.
Ate at the restaurant 2 days in a row. Had a house made pasta seafood special for dinner. The homemade linguini was tender and perfect, the seafood was ordinary. Had the fish (Cod)and chips the following day. The fish was very fresh, batter crisp but not greasy. My husband enjoyed the fish tacos. Lovely outdoor seating with beautiful harbor view.
We're from the east coast. I'd put their chowder up against anything I've ever had before.
Great service, terrific location, stunning views, beautiful & delicious food - this place is a must, for Friday Harbor locals and visitors.
I had a group of 5 for a special occasion on Friday. Everything was awesome. However, on Sat night my partner and I returned and were charged 6.00 MORE for the exact same cocktail! Sheeze
Excellent dinner with amazing view! Rare to find both in one place!
Our favorite place to eat in Friday Harbor. The ambiance and views cannot be beat. The service is fantastic and food is delicious.
Great clam chowder. Delicious heavily breaded calamari. Cioppino was a bit bland, but everyone liked their main courses. Bloody Marys with clam juice were great.
Our server never checked on us even once for more drinks or even to see how our food tasted.
Best patio in San Juan. Amazing food and can’t beat the ambiance
Great place facing the water with outside deck and great food and drinks - love this gem of a restaurant on Friday Harbor!!
Food was wonderful just a bit pricey.
Always a good place to eat in Friday Harbor, we have dined here several times!
Reliable meals for Friday Harbor. Expensive for what you get. Service highly variable.
The food was just terrible. But our server was absolutely lovely and we thought the location was great
Kay was awesome! She provided best service for myself and 2 granddaughters. Perfect day on the deck overlooking Friday Harbor!
We were very excited to visit this place but pretty disappointed overall. We each had two drinks and two lunch entrees and our total was over $120....! Service was VERY slow although there seemed to be plenty of employees running around. There were a lot of tables packed into a small space making it hard for people with strollers or walkers....fish and chips was mediocre at best...mostly over fried batter and the crab blt had zero flavor. Server was slow...all around. Bar was also slow getting drinks out. Unfortunate.
Always a good time! Love the staff and view. The halibut was perfect.
So this is an interesting restaurant because it’s in a great spot and the food should be exceptional. Maybe it usually is, but it wasn’t for us. I had to send something back that was just inedible. The other items were just average. Not really even average and not worth the price. The drinks and views were fantastic.
Gorgeous setting. Felt lucky to get a window table, probably because we reserved ahead. Service was excellent and the waitress and chef did their best to accommodate our strictly vegetarian friends, adjusting dishes to suit them. Very much appreciated. Salads did not seem as good as the burgers and appetizers, which were wonderful. Downriggers is now our go-to place to take out of state friends for a lovely experience on the water.
Great meals and the staff, Bill, was very helpful and accommodating.
Food was AMAZING. I had the ribeye steak, my mom had the Mad Hatcher chicken and my sister had the fresh seafood pasta special. All of our main dishes were fantastic! We also had the bread, clam chowder and the pecan salad to start and all of those were delicious as well. We sat outside and it was a beautiful view. It was pretty busy so our waitress wasn’t around as much as we would have liked but the support staff was on top of refilling the water and taking plates as we were finished so that made up for it. All in all it was a great experience with delicious food. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back again.
We had a family dinner here. Food is fairly typical and seemed fresh. It isn't outstanding, this isn't a culinary experience. What you get is a great setting and view with reasonable food. Prices are about what you'd expect. I'd recommend this to people visiting Friday Harbor due to the location and consistancy.
Cocktails and food absolutely delicious. Nice setting on the marina. Friendly service and nice ambiance.
