Steak & Frites
8oz hanger steak, frites, bordelaise sauce
smoky eggplant, garlic, olive oil, grilled ciabatta
We sat outside. Setting was lovely. Server was attentive and friendly. But she didn’t wear a mask. Disturbing given the pandemic. Also, took a long time for food to arrive, and when it did it was cold. Two of us had to pack it up uneaten and reheat at home the next day. Restaurant discounted our bill, subtracting the cost of coffee and mimosas. We appreciated that, but would rather have had hot food.
Soup was good. Rest of the food was mediocre at best. Expected more. Service was sub par with exception to the bartender that covered for the poor servers
Great food and atmosphere! Looking forward to returining
The Happy Hour menu, extended until 9 pm as of late on Wednesdays, is an outstanding deal. The sliders - chicken and beef -- are excellent and you have to indulge in the ham and cheese beignets. APaloma or a Gin, Pear and Tonic are perfect cocktails to accompany your food.
Our otherwise good experience was ruined by the fact that the owner of this restaurant apparently does not require the staff to wear masks. No one in the open kitchen was wearing a mask and our server wasn't until we talked to the manager. I have actually felt quite safe eating outdoors at many local restaurants but I will not go back to a restaurant that doesn't care about its customers no matter how good the food/service/atmosphere is.
This was a beautiful restaurant and high quality great service! Came here for brunch and had an amazing time. The food was great for the value. Very quaint place. I will definitely come back here. Great great service everyone was friendly and helpful!
Our server was knowledgeable and helpful and the food was good.
I visited Dovecote for brunch with my husband. We got a beautiful window table and ordered a pitcher of mimosa, what can be better for Sunday morning. We enjoyed every second of our experience, food was delicious and service was excellent. Anna made us feel very welcomed and treated us like VIP. Dovecote has absolutely special vibe and beautiful ambiance, I never knew this spot existed until our friends told us about their brunches. One pitcher is more than enough for 2, portions are very generous and nicely decorated.
Very great food and awesome service. Definitely will come back again. Staff very accommodating.
The Octopus was excellent, the brussel sprouts were excellent. The Onion soup was thick and not appealing we sent it back. The Salmon was very good. The Carrot cake came out and the Chantilly cream was hard and it was missing caramel. The server immediately brought out another that was very good. Service was great food was a bit inconsistent
We requested outdoor seating but non was available. Other customers were seated to close, less than two feet away. We physically had to move our table due to the closeness of the other customers. Food was warm leading us to believe it had been sitting in the kitchen. Disappointed that we could not enjoy happy hour pricing at the table. Customers were shoulder to shoulder at the bar which was not suitable for us
Came here expecting a great experience and was really let down. Service was terrible and took a very long time for everything to come to the table. The food left me wishing for more. Very dissappointed.
Great restaurant! I went there for Sunday brunch. The food was tasty. Service was a bit slow, but the waitress was nice. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
I had been informed that the chef recently changed at this restaurant. Food was not great. French onion soup came out ice cold, oysters were served incorrectly without typical accompaniments, pork dish tasted awful. Server and drinks were good but the food just not good. Sorry. We came to this restaurant prior to COVID and it was much better but this time around wasn’t.
We were celebrating 2 birthdays. I love Dovecote and have been several times. I love their happy hour. Great value
I was disappointed that they changed up their menus a little
I loved their pork with potato pancake and apple jelly but they changed out the potato pancake with polenta. So instead of ordering the pork, I ordered the steak frites. Mine was cooked perfectly and I love the skinny fries. But my friends ordered medium plus meaning medium with a touch of pink. Their steaks were as rare as mine. The server said it was the marinating process that caused the color. I’m not sure that’s the case. My friends didn’t bother sending back and opted to take home. Honestly, we were full from appetizers do it didn’t really matter. Their smoked eggplant dip is to die for.
Another disappointment was they did away with their soufflé. It was so delicious- I used to go just for that. I’m hoping once covid is gone it will be brought back.
It’s a great restaurant and I love the atmosphere.
Great ambiance and food. The wait staff was attentive. I’ll go back to try it a second time.
The food was great! Definitely try this restaurant out if you've never been.
wow, I am so upset I didn't discover DoveCote earlier! My husband and I went on friday night and sat outside, must admit few mosquitos enjoyed dinner on my legs but Javier our server, and all servers, were phenomenal. I loved the cocktails, and the food was amazing. It was truly a gift to dine here, feel safe, and given such incredible customer service. We are absolute francophiles, and from the moment I walked in I couldn't take my eyes of the incredible ambience/wall colors, ceilings, lighting fixture, and had it not been for the pandemic I would have LOVED to sit in that cute alcove for two by the window.
The menu was terrific, I wanted to taste everything- magical dining was a pleasant
surprise!. love the wine pairing. I am grateful Chef Luljeta took the time to come out and greet us, as I shared with our server that I really wanted to thank her for my gift of an incredible evening out. It's rare for us given our schedule and we simply eat at home as I am a food-obscessed wanna be chef and cook all the time. Valet parking made it so convenient, and watching reflection of the sky on the tall glass building as we enjoyed our cocktails was truly awesome. I can't wait for us to go back, whether happy hour, brunch, and when our dear friends come visit over the holidays! Thank you to Mr. Tazioli and Mr. Granville and the entire team for opening a restaurant that is so fantastic.
Outdoor seating was very nice. Food was good but not great.
The ambiance was beautiful. The service was friendly and timely. The food was mediocre. We did enjoy the strawberry bread.
wasnt that great
Food, ambience, service by Leo and the other servers was fantastic!! Love this place.
We love this restaurant in every way. This was our first time sitting outside, and it was Soooo loud from traffic, cars and motorcycles revving for some reason? Stick with inside and you will not be disappointed!
DoveCote is an attractive restaurant with a distinctive French decor and downtown urban vibe. The food is good (some things are excellent) and the service is attentive. We were able to take advantage of the Magical Dining menu which provided our table with enough choices to satisfy everyone.
Our first time going out since March. Amazing first time at dovecote and magical dining. The salmon was delicious. Wonderful ambiance and menu. Highly recommend!
They over charge for drinks, a basic margarita cost $19.
The food was mediocre, nothing fancy or good about it.
Never have dined here before and wanted something with outside dining and I worked in this building many years ago so it seemed interesting.
It was raining so outside seating was closed. The poor service began with the valet not being there, but the signs said Valet. We sat in the car for 10 min waiting and no one came outside. I went inside and was told the Valet was late for work! Well they saw cars sitting there someone could have come outside and said something. Poor Management.
We asked sit in the courtyard area of the bank building which is very open. Our waiter was slow, forgot our appetizers, the food was so so. They did have several tables seating 8 people nearby which made me uneasy. I noticed the table near us sent their food back and were complaining.
both my husband and I said we will not return. Its too bad because it's a nice location.
The outside seating area was lovely. The food was good, I went for MagicalDining. The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It was loud because of Orange Ave. I would go back for drinks and try an appetizer.
Tried to book a private lunch for 12, was told I didn’t need to for only a party of 12. Set up a very nice table and decorations for a , thought this was an upscale establishment with at least decent table service and was very disappointed, especially with event coordinator, we felt rushed and not welcomed the whole time. It’s a shame because this is a beautiful space but management and service is very poor. Food is also sub par. Not one finished dish was taken off of our table by the end of the lunch and checks were given out before we had the chance to order a second round of cocktails. Don’t call yourself and upscale establishment if you can not prebus a table, or at the least show some hospitality. Our server was new so I guess I couldn’t expect too much and he really did try but really the manager is the disappointment here. After our guest left we had put all the dirty dishes and glasses on another table ourselves in order the get our table cloth and decorations which is ridiculous, the establishment wasn’t even busy at all, we were the only guest dining outside as well. As I was loading the car to leave the manager which I believe was coming back from a break herself commented that she can’t believe I was just now leaving.. maybe my expectations were just too high.
The place is very clean, the ambiance is casual but elegant. It has good lighting.
The service was outstanding, the timing of food coming out was perfect, staff was very pleasant, I will definitely come back to try other dishes.
Beignets and Brussel sprouts and creme brulle was excellent. My steak was good but not cooked as I had asked and the french fries that came with it were not fresh. The worst was we waited a long time for our parking ticket to be stamped and then it didn't work in the parking garage and we called the number listed and the security guard hung up on us and didn't open the gate. We had to pay $15 to get out of the garage. With this type of poor service I don't imagine we will want to come back again.
Nice atmosphere, food had delicious flavor, service was a little slow but our server was also tending bar
Great food and excellent deal with the magical dining event.
Not quite what I expected food wise. Steaks were not cooked to my liking.
Food was pretty good when it finally came out right. Ordered a steak to be cooked to medium temp. First time it came out rare and I asked the waiter to send back. Second time it came out rare as well and had to be sent back again. Luckily the third time was correct but other than that the food was pretty good.
The food was not good at all. Very disappointed
. When we first arrived we were overlooked several times by front staff before greeted. Waited over 30 minutes, when the manager finally arrived asking if anyone had come over yet. When we said no, he got our drink order and we waited another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive and another 10 for a waiter to greet us and take our order, no apologies. Over an hour total to get service . Food took a little while and was sub par.
Adorable atmosphere, bartender great, small menu not much to choose from. Went 6-7 months ago and food was good however definitely not the same standard on this trip. My friend and I got the chicken dish and it was very cold, and husband and friends steaks were cold too. Only hot food that came was the Brussel sprouts which were hot and pretty flavorful. I will say the manager was responsive and apologetic. And took care of us.
We enjoyed it we went with a group of 6 ambience is very nice food is decent Brussels sprouts were great flank steak cooked to order and very good just not hot enough carrot cake wasn’t tasty we enjoyed ourselves
Over all excellent
We sat in the open area lobby part of the main entrance of the building.Would have preferred to sit in actual restaurant itself but maybe next time
