Steak & Frites
8oz hanger steak, frites, bordelaise sauce
Braised Short Rib
cognac jus, lyonnaise potato, trumpet mushroom
Adorable atmosphere, bartender great, small menu not much to choose from. Went 6-7 months ago and food was good however definitely not the same standard on this trip. My friend and I got the chicken dish and it was very cold, and husband and friends steaks were cold too. Only hot food that came was the Brussel sprouts which were hot and pretty flavorful. I will say the manager was responsive and apologetic. And took care of us.
We enjoyed it we went with a group of 6 ambience is very nice food is decent Brussels sprouts were great flank steak cooked to order and very good just not hot enough carrot cake wasn’t tasty we enjoyed ourselves
Over all excellent
We sat in the open area lobby part of the main entrance of the building.Would have preferred to sit in actual restaurant itself but maybe next time
Drinks were good, service was slow and we were 1/3 tables, food was barely warm but just fine.
Service was decent but the food was definitely not what we expected. Chicken was dry and the steak was not tender at all. Glad we experienced this place during magical dining instead of paying top price for our meals.
Our party of four dined during magical dining and ordered as such. Our cocktails were delicious. I ordered the Dove and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ham and cheese begniets, although prepared well seemed to have less ham/cheese than pre- Covid. Still tasty though. The butter lettuce salad was fresh and delicious and with the perfect light dressing. Two of us ordered the salmon and two the flank steak. The salmon was good, the flank steak was very tough and chewy. Before you say, (but flank steak is...) it can definitely be prepared and sliced to make it near delectable. My Creme brûlée was served warm, my husband’s was cold? I dunno. Main complaint was the tap as opposed to filtered water which should be readily available via the bar. I will offer grace to the new server who has a lot to learn. Our waitress was good but obviously too stretched to guide the newbie.
All said, we will try again as our previous experience was so good.
I’ve always enjoyed dining at DoveCote but this particular night was not one for the books. We had a very inexperienced server, but he tried the best he could. We brought our own bottle and ask for it to be decanted. Our server had not done this before so the manager came in and gave him a tutorial in front of us - the information shared was cringeworthy - it wasn’t very professional, and rather really threw off the vibe we were going for. A part of it felt like he appreciated the fact that we brought a bottle that he said he had not heard of but then the other part was, why did you bring this? This is complicating things. The appetizers were great, but the Steak Frites were utterly disappointing. We ordered both Steaks medium and instead, they came out well done and chewy. Our server had somewhat disappeared after the entrees were placed so we were kinda left on our own. Not even halfway through our entrees, the desserts came and were placed on our table by the busser. Since both steaks were lackluster (chewy and flavorless), we just started eating our desserts. Our server finally came back and gave us our check - no sense of acknowledgement or any type of appreciation. Perhaps next time, someone more experienced should be working the rush on a Friday night or management should provide more training.
Greatly enjoyed our anniversary date at the restaurant. We are from out of town (Texas) and could never find the parking garage so we paid the $5. Valet fee. Fine. Food was good ,selected desert not so good but they made it up To us with a much better desert option.
Would gladly go back. RCM
The food choices were limited, only 4 choices for dinner option. 1 fish, 1 chicken, 1 steak, 1 vegetarian. Ordered the fish and the chicken, neither had any spice or flavor, not even salt. Was very bland and boring for what was paid. Also ordered the carrot cake which was terrible. Not even sure it qualifies as a cake, it was more like banana bread style. I heard people rave about this place so I was quite disappointed. The only saving grace was that the ambiance was nice and the service was good. The service could have been better if the server cared to inquire why we didn’t really touch the food but she didn’t bother asking. Still had a great date but left hungry.
When arrived ,the hostess, Emily, received us with a beautiful smile. She spent time in SA to learn spanish and conducted the conversation in spanish. We loved it The server ,Anna was superb and professional. Great, genuine smile!! She even tasted a Calon Segur 2001 Bordeaux( almost as old as her!! She was very appreciative!! We did the Magical dining menu and what a deal!! Kudos to DoveCote Dr Jose Lopez-Cintron MD
Slow service at the bar and in dining room.
Anniversary wasn’t acknowledged.
No issues with the food, but limited menu was extremely underwhelming. We mostly just ordered apps; all were fair to ok, but nothing exceptional.
Had been looking forward to going for a long time and finally had the opportunity; was very disappointed.
Left before we got our drinks! Waited 15 before we had to go ask for someone to wait on us. Sat outside, because, Covid....first table we sat at had collected water in the bench and as a result, had a swarm of mosquitoes living in it. Moved to another table, under a roof and had the same problem. Was crazy, I'm a Floridian and I have never seen so many mosquitoes! The only bright spot was our waiter who really tried to make it better but there was only so much he could do. Management should reevaluate, you can't really advertise outdoor dining if the accommodations make it miserable. They had other seating options outside, which seemed to be ok but they were better suited for cocktails and apps, not a sit down meal. Such a shame because we had been looking forward to their Magical Dining menu, ended up having sushi down the street.
The service and food were both amazing! Will definitely visit again.
Everything was amazing! I will definitely be back!
Awesome for brunch on Sunday!
Loved the ambiance in the pretty outdoor courtyard. All the food and service was excellent, right down to validating my parking ticket by text, after they were closed. They went the extra mile here, for sure. Will return.
Food was amazing; service/organization/communication needs more work. At first the service was on the slow side and then I guess to speed things up, servers kept bringing us other meals (not sure if there was miscommunication with the kitchen?) after we received our apps and entrees. It was awkward. The servers were all kind and managers did check in on us. I would still recommend visiting DoveCote as the whole point is to eat some good French cuisine which was “incroyable”.
The ambience was great. However, the food left much to be desired. We ordered the steak and frites and the steak was dry and lacked flavor. The frites (fancy name for fries) were literally unseasoned fries that were not even golden. Fast food fries would be better that what they served. We ordered from the magical dining menu so the price of this entree was not bad yet still not worth ordering. If anyone orders from their regular menu, this plate is a whopping $29 and IT IS NOT worth $10. With all that said, this place has potential but a lot to improve.
We visited Dove Cote for the first time during Magical Dining. The food was very good. Would highly recommend the Lemon Thyme Chicken and the Brussel Sprouts. Service wasn’t great, but they were pretty busy and our server seemed like he got sat multiple tables at once, so not his fault. Would definitely visit again.
A beautiful restaurant with unique decor, great magical dining and a la carte options. French wines predominate the wine list
Everything was just Ok. When we arrived we had to ask for alternate seating rather than a remote area that seemed very subdued and isolated.
There was then some confusion about who was going to be out server. After a while we were served and it was fine. Food was ok, service was ok, just nothing special and I wouldn’t recommend or go back when there are so many other places in town that I like better.
We celebrated my sister-in-law “saying YES to the dress!” Brunch was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a girls day.
Totally an outstanding dining experience with a French flair. Thank you kitchen and service staff for a wonderful evening.
Excellent food, drinks and service! Staff was super friendly and lead to an overall wonderful experience.
The restaurant seemed a little flustered, they were out of items on the Magical Dining, and other items that a typically on the menu so that was disappointing.
It was nice
Went for Magical Dining. The steak frite was very good but there is a $7 surcharge for it. The salmon was two small pieces of over cooked, dry salmon.
Very limited menu. Extremely pricey for the quality of the food and the serving portion. Wish I had not gone there. Will not return. Will not recommend
We had been there previously, about six months ago for a dinner. We went for a birthday brunch. I want to make sure that I stress that the food is still tremendous. My omelette with Boursin cheese was tremendous. Well they don't have outside seating they did set up several tables in the main lobby of the office building where the restaurant is. When we shut down the tables were acceptably spaced out. However shortly there after the manager came out and started to set up a table right behind us, about 2 1/2 feet away. Since we had someone at our table post cardiac surgery we asked if they could move our table an appropriate distance which they certainly did without objection. Unfortunately the food did not arrive together and it was brought out plate by plate with a significant time lag in between, so that we really didn't have an opportunity to eat together. To frame this properly our reservation was 1230. The last person to get their eggs was my son who is served at 220. I understand these are very trying times for businesses such as restaurants, and having had a previous great experience I can only hope that dovecote bounces back to the previous level of service. Perhaps we will do takeout until then.
The food was cool we order chocolate muss and the waitress bring carrots cake
Service was very slow, didn’t find out they no longer serve items on the menu until it was time to place order. Appetizers were great but the main dishes were very underwhelming, poorly seasoned. (Skirt Steak and Burger) I really wanted to like it though :/
First time there. Will go back.
Went to DoveCote on 7/31 for dinner with my wife and we felt safe and had an amazing time. They took every effort to social distance and the large open areas of the restaurant allow for a very comfortable setting.
The drinks and food at DoveCote are top notch, and the service takes it to the next level. Please support these amazing local restaurants that are serving amazing food during these trying times!
On multiple occasions, what was ordered was not what came out of the kitchen. Two of our burgers were rare when we ordered medium-rare and medium-well. We came for the oysters and the short-rib, both of which they did not have. Ordered a signature cocktail which did not have all of the ingredients in tit. The nice waiter caught the mishap and sent back to the bar on our behalf. The whole experience was just a joke. I had eaten at DoveCote before and had a good experience. But this was just laughable.
I had a wonderful lunch experience at DoveCote. I split the smoked eggplant dip appetizer with my mother, and we went crazy over it. We also ordered the strawberry bread, which was delicious. For my entree, I had the egg sandwich and loved it. I will definitely be returning to DoveCote in the future!
It’s a nice place for cocktails, the food wasn’t the best. We had a party of ten for 7:30. Manager of the restaurant sent home cooks at 8. Food was not the best. If it wasn’t for the server I would have walked out. Honestly. It was kind of disappointing. Again not not server but the restaurant itself. They were understaffed and took extremely long.
Honestly would just go here for the cocktails. Nothing more.
Staff was amazing.
Food came out very quickly, almost too quickly. The short ribs where tough, and the portion size was very small(5 thins cuts of meat, and a couple small pieces of potato).
Always delicious. Dovecoat has a nice sophisticated atmosphere yet casual. They always have great food and great service.
I celebrated my birthday dinner at this restaurant and it was amazing. The service exceeded my expectations and the ambiance was delightful. I will definitely be coming back!
