DoveCote has a very special upscale Mother's Day buffet menu (no ala carte ordering available), and Mimosa pitcher and other drink specials. We have large outside Courtyard seating, and inside as well. Free complimentary inside and outside parking. The menu is at www.dovecoteorlando.com.
Good food, but host wasn’t wearing a mask.
This place is delightful. The food was delicious, the servers were very attentive, and the decor was so comfortable. Definitely will return!
Very knowledgeable staff! Had an amazing meal thanks to the help of James the bartender/waiter!! Recommendations were top notch. I can not wait to go back to this restaurant...
Food took two hours and was horrible. Turkey sandwich was supposed to be on a brioche bun but came on a sad burger bun from a plastic bag. Drinks were okay. Not remotely worth the money or the drive downtown. Extremely disappointed
Dovecote was a great location for my cousin’s birthday party. The service and food were delicious and the decor is gorgeous! We will definitely be back!
Birthday brunch before we left for airport
It was an amazing experience!! Kaycee (I’m sorry if I spelled it wrong) but he was an awesome host!!! Very funny and an overall experience. I love it.
Dovecote was ok, but I would say average at best. The staff does not consistently adhere to COVID precautions which was frustrating because online the website states they are taking precautions. The food was average and not worth the price tag, and even theri soda was flat. Really disappointing.
The food that was served for an all you can eat was not a good option. I don’t want a buffet of salmon and chicken with mash potatoes burnt carrots and dry cornbread. Not worth the price. Was highly disappointed.
Took the wife for what was supposed to be a nice Easter brunch. At $70 each I expected more than chicken, salmon, ham and carrots. The typical Easter brunch that we have experienced at that price point is much higher-quality. We overheard another table near us complaining that their food was even cold. The desert amounted to what looked to be a store-bought brownie on a plate or a stale slice of pound cake with a smattering of strawberries. Service was not great, either. This place is possibly a good restaurant on regular days but not for a holiday brunch.
Brunch was delicious. Ambiance is wonderful, location of trying to find the restaurant was tricky I’m not from here. Parking was confusing but overall I enjoyed my experience. Sylvia the hostess was gracious!
Dovecote is a beautiful restaurant that used to be one of the best places to eat in Orlando. Unfortunately that has changed. First we stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes waiting for someone to appear and acknowledge our reservation. The restaurant was nearly empty, and when a staff member did appear, we were treated as if we were interrupting their evening. After we were seated, it took another 10 minutes for a waiter to appear at the table. Let me mention again the restaurant was nearly empty. After the delay at the beginning of dinner , the waiter was very attentive and personable. The menu has changed, and some of the beautiful and delicious French inspired food is no longer on the menu. It’s more of a meat and potato type of place now. The food we were served was poorly prepared. A medium rare steak, we tried to order rare but were told the chef didn’t prepare raw food?, was served well done and could have been shoe leather for how tough and charred it was, The chicken on a second plate was raw in the middle, so much for not serving rare meat. The high prices haven’t changed, we didn’t mind paying them for the inspired food we used to be served, but are ridiculous for the poor food we received. We will not return and are sad to see the impending demise of this once great restaurant.
Fabulous meal All the house specials were fantastic
Great experience! If you dine at DoveCote you will not be disappointed, especially if Casey is your server. Our table had the steak frites, the pork cutlet, ,cheese board, and ham and cheese benets. Everything was fresh, quick, and outstanding. For dessert we enjoyed the brown sugar carrot cake, and my 2 kids enjoyed the Oreo Surprise.
Service was a little spotty and slow, but would still recommend the restaurant. Their food is delicious, especially the ham and cheese beignets
Went for my birthday and had an amazing experience! The host was extremely kind and sociable, server was new but doing his best. Everything was delicious I even got a complimentary round of champagne for my birthday
They need softer lighting and a little music. At those prices have a dress code. Some of the people looked homeless. The food was good but the ambiance and the place settings were subpar for that price
A truly great evening with good fiord and Greta service!!!
We sat at the bar and they kept opening the door and leaving the door open it it was very cold which made the restaurant extremely chilly, The bartender was very inattentive So seriously don’t think will be going back
We were disappointed in the menu. Just because you have one entree does not make you a French restaurant. We came for lunch at 12:30 and it was mainly breakfast items with a burger to make it "brunch". Items were overpriced. The shoestring potatoes tasted frozen and bland. My salmon burger was overcooked and dry. The "french" onion soup had brisket in it, not very french at all. Their parking lot was closed off. Ambience was very nice and the courtyard was truly special.
I am only giving it a few stars because they were out of a lot. Vegetarian Plate( out), salad (out ) and not too accommodating given they were out of so much. Food was so-so, drinks were great, space was cute and service good. Unfortunately due to being out of so much on a Saturday morning I would not return.
Bathrooms were so dirty and there was no soap, paper towels nor toilet paper. Had to tell them twice about this. Food was over cooked and the shrimp dish had no shrimp. Maybe it was an off night.
WANTED TO LOVE IT!
I went to DoveCote to celebrate a friend's birthday. Parking in the garage was complimentary but a bit of a hassle due to construction. We chose to be seated on the patio outdoors, it was a really nice day and the atmosphere was good. The food was not as good as I was hoping it would be. I had the onion soup, which was tastey but a bit large of a portion for me. I shared the Croque Madame with my friend and to be honest, I have had better Croque Madame's elsewhere. The bread in the sandwich was not that great. The frites were really good and had a slightly smokey undertone which I enjoyed. My cocktail was a Paloma, which was very good. My friend wanted a California Chardonnay and there were none on the menu....I get it, it's a French restaurant, but it's unusual not to see any CA wine on the menu. The server was very nice but service was definitely a bit slow. He would disappear inside and only occasionally check in on us. At the end of the meal, some plates were cleared while one was left on the table for quite awhile. I honestly can't say I would make the trip downtown and go through the parking challenges to have a meal here again any time soon.
There was no apparent social distancing guidelines being followed, as they were no signs and people were being seated in close proximity to one another. The chairs at my table had food crumbs and hair on them.
I have worked in fine dining and been to "fancy" restaurants but this place was absolutely horrible. They offered a $70 Valentine dinner special which seems reasonable for a nice romantic dinner but tables were <2 feet apart, the staff was unprofessional, and I'm 90% confident my entree came fresh out of the microwave. This place is very far from one of the best restaurants in Orlando and I feel like I would've had a more romantic dinner at an Applebees.
Tiny portions that look like the scraps the chef had. It was a waste of money and time.
Very Disappointment with service and food. they tried to just make money all i understood.
My wife and I are always looking for some place different to have our date-night dinners, and DoveCote came highly recommended. I try to read all of the reviews, both good and bad, and I think what I read was right in line with what we experienced.
The weather sucked (rain), but the view of downtown from our table was excellent, though the table was a tad small even for two. I had to put things like the table QR code on the floor next to us to make room, but that's a nitpick.
The Valentine's meal was a 3-course affair with both of us getting an appetizer. My wife chose the meat and cheese board, which fore such a prominent place was pretty underwhelming. It was presented like something I would go to my refrigerator and toss together during a commercial. I chose the duck pate, so we could share both appetizers, and found it to be really good. I'm not a pate guy, nor is my wife, but we both really loved it.
Our main courses were the short ribs (me) and shrimp and chorizo (her). You might as well call it jambalaya, since the chorizo was your standard sausage pieces thrown in with the shrimp and tomatoes. My wife loved it, though, and the short ribs were fantastic.
The desert came down to red velvet cake and the crème Brule. Both were amazing.
The service was 5-star, as was speaking with the owner while were being seated. I've seen complaints about the owner not talking to everyone, but from our view, he was helping seat customers, so didn't socialize with every guest. I guess he could have walked around to do so, but I wasn't really watching him after he left our table.
The price for the meal was pretty steep, but I'd do it again. My overall take is that DoveCote is a class restaurant with a lot to offer. We plan to be back, probably for their brunch.
$70 per person for a dinner in a lobby that lasted 2 hours to get our 3 courses. Me and my girlfriend waited and watched as couples who arrived after us received their plates earlier and left. Not only that, by the time we actually got any of our dishes, there was no utensils for us to use. I will never dine here again. It is a sorry excuse for fine dining. Spend your money elsewhere.
I cannot express just how wonderful it was visiting this place. My wife and I came here for Valentine's Day and were seated personally by the owner, Rob. He was complimentary and kind, and his staff followed his lead in everything they did. The drinks were excellent, and the food was beyond exemplary of a French cuisine restaurant. Atmospherically, it was beautiful, with an actual dovecote adorning the bar wall to give the restaurant a real ambience. Looking forward to coming back very soon!
We were not told when we made the reservation that we would be seated at a table set up in the lobby of the building. Our table ended up being right next to the elevators. The food was not worth the money paid. This was for Valentines Day and it was the most UNromatic atmosphere. The only thing that made the experience somewhat pleasant was our fantastic waitress.
The food was overpriced for what was delivered and did not meet expectations.
Good place for a date, had a great time very romantic
We went to Dovecote for Valentine’s Day, and it was a mostly wonderful experience. I was a little bummed that we were all sandwiched in very close to other couples, both from a COVID social distancing concern and also because it was impossible to have an uninterrupted quiet conversation as we were drowned out by the conversations happening very close on either side of us. I also felt that the food was really good but for the price we paid, I really would have preferred to order off the full menu and gotten something I would have enjoyed more. The Valentines menu was limited to 3 options, and I wouldn’t normally have chosen any of those 3. But I still very much liked this restaurant and would like to try again on a non-holiday occasion.
Decided to come here for Valentine’s Day brunch with some friends around 12pm and to my surprise, it wasn’t that busy. I ordered the egg sandwich as recommended by our server and it was delicious! We also had 2 pitchers of mimosas. However, the service was absolutely terrible. We waited a little over an hour before our food finally came out. I wouldn’t come here if you’re starving or else you’ll be a raging bull by the time your food arrives :)
Had an excellent experience at Dove Cote for Valentine’s Day Brunch! The food was good, the service was excellent, the ambiance was perfect. Would highly recommend for brunch. The ham and cheese beignets were delicious, and the croque madame was really good too!
Ehhhh. It was decent. Went there for a Valentine’s Day dinner and we had a reservation for 8:15pm. We got there around 8. The hostess said they will seat us shortly. A group of four Caucasion women walked in shortly after us. They waited for maybe a minute and were escorted to their table. The owner went and talked to them, showing great hospitality and provided them a menu. A few moments later we were seated; the owner did not come and speak to us nor were we provided with a menu. Now I understand some places aren’t providing menus due to covid however, everyone else around use had menus. While we were seated, two Caucasian women were seated and were shown great hospitality from the owner. My boyfriend and I were the only ones looking down at our phone at the menus; not a good vibe for us as Black people. Then our waitress barely attended us. She came to our table three times.
One to ask us what drinks and food we wanted . Another to give us our food and the last to hand us our check. She even kept looking at us as she would walk by but never ask us anything.
Was not the best experience.
Thank you so much, we truly enjoyed it. The food was wonderful, the decor was fresh and new.
Good food, nice indoor ambiance. There's room for improvement for outdoor seating.
Had an amazing time! This is my 2nd time coming and I will definitely be back!
