Douro provided my wife and I with the perfect meal, service and experience for our wedding anniversary. The restaurant is absolutely stunning and the menu is impressive in its offerings. We decided to order the Mozambique fries for an app which were light and delicious. For our main courses we got the Portuguese Steak, and Steak and Chourico Skewer. Both of which were absolutely unbelievable. The sauce served with the Portuguese Steak is spicy and rich and pairs well with the rice and thin sliced round fries. On top of the food being great, our server Emily was attentive, respectful and visited the table the perfect amount of time. To finish the night off, champagne was brought to us on the house to finish off a perfect experience for our anniversary. I appreciate the Douro team for making us feel welcome and appreciated on our first visit. They created a repeat customer who will preach their service to anybody who will listen.

To start we were given bread which was $3.00 and we asked for butter instead of the oil and the butter had the flavor of many ingredients that may have been in the refrigerator. It needed to be covered while refrigerated. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was spicy and very nice. My appetizer of Caesar salad was a big disappointment. I guess I didn’t read that it was hot and charred - was generous, but unusual My husband had scallops - tasty. I had a tenderloin that was not uniform in size. It must have been from the small end of the tenderloin and included two hanging pieces on both ends that were rubbery and charred. The steak was chewy and probably not prime. Because of the varied thicknesses, it had very little cooked to my preference of medium rare. Not worth $40. Usually there is no waste to tenderloin. This was not the case. I probably ate two bites. The veggies of mashed potatoes and mixed veggies were ok.

There was no issue with service as we were the only table there. The entrees, however, were sub par. The ribeye (med-rare) was tough. The filet mignon was flavorless. The octopus was dry and charred. We were disappointed since it’s a steakhouse, we expected better meat to say the least. In terms of ambience, there was house music on which seemed more suitable for a bar rather than a nicer restaurant.

Excellent service, delicious food and drinks. Helpful waiters. We come back every summer we like it so much! The menu has expanded from last summer- can't wait to go back and try something else. We had the duck, tuna and Portuguese steak with yucca croquettes and chorizo first. All were delectable! The specialty martinis and chocolate mousse were heavenly!

Sometimes you feel that someone has taken advantage of you. We went for Mother’s Day. The place was not even that busy. Service was very slow. We spent 2.5 hours there. We waited so long that we went through 2 bottles of water. I was surprised when I got the check to see that they charged $9 for each bottle of water. I have to admit that the prepared drinks are large, and the meals were good. But $18 for water??? They lost this customer.

Didn't really care for it. My steak was cooked okay, my husband's was cooked too well (he asked for medium). It was a nice place and waiter was good/okay/average. Charged for bread, charged for water.... even though when asked by the waiter if we preferred sparkling or regular water, we answered regular water is fine. Noticed others getting "regular water in a glass bottle but he gave us a 1.5L Luso bottled water that we had to pay for? I'm pretty sure it was like $9 too. Also, was charged a different price for the shrimp cocktail than what was listed on the menu. Most likely won't be going back.

Overpriced. Atmosphere is lovely but 2 things that really bother me. Serving bottled water and charging me without asking! And then charging for bread. And the bread wasn’t even traditional papo secos. I would have purchased regardless but I like transparency when dining.

My wife and I were partaking in “restaurant week”. We had previewed the menus and had enjoyed their last restaurant week offerings. We had appetizers of beet salad and a gourmet meatball. We chose the duck and filet entree options and split a large slice of flan for dessert. Our drinks were well made and we really enjoyed the whole dining experience!

The ambiance is great, from the decor to the lighting very inviting. Owner greeted us at our table, shared some history on the building and his desire to build a multifunctional space allowing for many different dining experiences. We will definitely be back.

Four of us visited for a birthday lunch. We sat immediately and Recife drinks and appetizers in a reasonable amount of time. Our server, Eddie, reported they they did not have a bar tender in as it was a quiet Monday holiday but that he could make most cocktails. That was an understatement. He whipped up the best lavender lemon drop martini I’ve ever tasted! Put white wine was also crisp and refreshing. My scallops were tend we and tasty while my sister received a generous portion of salmon. All dished arrived with crisp tender fresh vegetables and pan fried potato slices, an upscale version of a French fry. My daughter enjoyed the shish kabob beef. They arrived a bit too rare for her liking but another staff member graciously took it back to cook a bit more. Coffee and sweet dessert was just as elegant and delicious. Eddie prepared such phenomenal lattes that we got two iced to go. I’d love to enjoy dinner on a busier night and sample some of their tapas fare.

They overbooked and we’re understaffed. Reservation was at 8pm, didn’t get seated until 915pm. First order of steak was the wrong dish, remade to the correct dish but over cooked the steak. The staff was pleasant trying to make the best of the situation.

They had a set menu for Valentine’s Day. Which is typical of most restaurants. Except they were their regular menu items but triple the cost. What we ordered on a regular day would cost of $75 because it was a set menu we were given a “feee desert” of two strawberries and the cost was $210. The service was poor. Food was okay but cold by the time it was served. I found more than one hair in my food and no apologies was given besides an “oh no”. We will not be returning. The environment is lovely. And the menu has great potential. It seems like an inexperienced management and staff all around.

They charge for bread and butter, charged us for a second order of bread/butter that was never brought. Seafood linguini, menu said lemon butter sauce, not sure what sauce actually ended up with, some noodles hard crunchy. Fillet/creamy spinach/gnocchi, gnocchi had not much flavor, maybe a couple pieces of spinach on the plate. Cocktails were not good, our opinion. Good wine selection.Overall disappointed.
