The food is SUPERB. Absolutely delicious. Such friendly waiters. Such a classy and elegant environment. Still one of my absolute favorite vegan spots in nyc.
Spectacular vegan Italian food! Awesome outdoor seating varied menu and great drinks, too
Best GF pizza I’ve had. We were so impressed with how authentic it tasted compared to so many other gluten-free pizzas we’ve tried over the years. So good! The meatballs were also a huge hit! We will definitely be back here soon
The food was delightful for a vegan pizza place. The location was delightful, but the prices were a little bit on the higher side than I was comfortable with.
Great tasting food and pizza. Excellent service courteous, friendly, attentive and professional staff.
Great food, atmosphere and staff! I can’t wait to go back.
Delicious little vegan spot - STELLAR pizza, good service. Great place to take it slow and people watch. Outdoor patio was very nice.
I loved everything about the restaurant besides the tables. I thought that it was annoying that the tables were so high and the seats. It made it going in and out a little difficult because everyone was sitting so close together.
Very good vegan pizza. There's a vegan pizza shop in Spokane that used to be my favorite but now Double Zero tops the list.
Best vegan pizza!!! We absolutely love this place.
Honestly the best pizza I have ever had in my life. The service was delightful, and the ambiance was great for an evening out with my friends. Can not wait to go back!
The walnut bolognese and eggplant dish were absolutely delicious and the salad was tasty and refreshing. We look forward to going back soon.
I am not a vegan but love eating vegan foods. This place was just really bland and the crusts were undercooked. My wife had eaten at the partner restaurant the week before and raved about it so maybe it was an off night for them. If it was local to me I would give it another chance based on the idea that it may have just been one bad night.
The pizza dough here is rubbery and flimsy, the toppings fall off the slice the moment you take it into your hand. If you're gonna serve pizza in New York you better serve up something good, this absolutely missed the mark. Save yourself the trouble, go find better pizza
Best pizza in the city. The meatballs were a solid B. The bruschetta is amazing too. Overall incredible food.
So disappointed. Had high expectations that were dashed completely. Pizza sauce tasted like ragu and waiter literally forgot to take, place or charge for appetizers. Bad service, never came back over to check on us. Pasta was bland and needed salt or seasoning. Won’t be doing Matthew Kenney again.
Service was great, everyone was super friendly and attentive
Great service, delicious pizza with a great variety of toppings. Only negatives- a bit loud and the chopped salad was tasteless.
When we arrived at 8:15, they had no gluten-free crust left and no special dishes left! Very disappointing because I only wanted pizza but am gluten-free. We stayed anyhow, but we should have just left because the rest of the food wasn't very good.
Incredible restaurant and food, just too hot in there with what felt like no air con
Great dining experience at Double Zero! The selections were fresh and delicious. Ask for the market special. The servers were friendly and didn’t rush us.
Great Vegan Pizza. Went for my 21st birthday and we had the Eggplant one and the Basil Pesto onion pizza and both were good - though the pesto pizza was something special. Not ground breaking vegan cheese, but if you're vegan and wanting some thin crust hipster pizza, and happen to be near alphabet city or the east village (tompkins square park area) I highly recommend. Staff was wonderful - let me play a song for my birthday! To see what the pizzas and the atmosphere was like - you can watch the vlog on my Youtube Channel (Stephanie Safdie). Happy Pizza Eating! :P
Great place for healthy and inventive pizza. Sometimes however the toppings aren’t spread out enough to the edge of the pie. But overall great spot. Try the gluten-free crust.
Overall, Double Zero is a good, but not great, place for vegan pizza. Some of the pizzas are a hit, others are a distinct miss (pizza crust was great across the board, but skip the farro sausage, which tastes nothing like sausage and has an odd flavor, as if they added too much liquid smoke or something). The service was good, although our server was switched in the middle of the meal and there was some confusion about whether our orders had been placed, and after that, the restaurant seemed short-handed. We sat outside, which is lovely, if not a tad loud and cramped (they fit as many tables as they can, and the tables are small and hard to accommodate food and drinks comfortably). Given the price point, it's a fair but not great value for the dining experience you get.
The staff is always SO INCREDIBLE — and the food (which is already so beautifully composed and served) is that much more appreciated because of it. I’m very proud to say that Matthew and his restaurants are changing the world in such an inspiring and forward way. We will be coming back at every occasion we find!
Double Zero was the best pizza I've ever had in my life.
The spicy marinara and the truffle cashew cream pizzas were very good. The dough bread was excellent.
Server could of used a smile and not mumbled other then that it was very good
I’ve been a half dozen times. Twice when it had nothing to do with dining vegan. And, to be clear, 90%’of my meals are spent eating large chunks of meat. The other 10% makes no effort to avoid eggs or cream. Double Zero has nothing to do with that. This is just a place for GREAT pizza and pasta. Richness of mushreams, spicy seasoning, flavors and consistencies of cheese and polenta served on spectacular crusts 100% distracts from the fact that there is no cheese on the pizza, no meat in the bolognese! I’d give the food 6 or 7 stars if I could. So, take your vegan friends (if they haven’t already been) and then come back by yourselves. It’s totally worth it.
One of the best vegan pizzas I have ever had. Amazing selection of organic wines. Winner!
Delicious vegan pizza! Lovely service, good atmosphere.
Just a great restaurant! Every time I go I love it and wish there could be more of this!!!
I'm not a fan of vegetarian/vegan food, but decided to give Double Zero a try. The hostess and the server were very personable, attentive and efficient. The bartender was a great guy who had an innovative approach to a couple of curve balls we threw him, cocktail-wise. I had zucchini lasagna, and the ingredients were fresh, and it was nicely presented and fairly tasty. Blueberry key lime pie was fantastic all around. The restaurant was open to the outside on a nice evening and not crowded. Very relaxing.
Double Zero has a Mexican restaurant, a pizzeria and a cocktail bar restaurant all in a row. The above review relates to dinner at the cocktail bar/restaurant. Be mindful of making the proper reservation, at the restaurant you want to dine at (Mexican, Pizza or Other).
Our server Anton was a great guide! Food was fantastic! We will be back! Thank you!
Very nice environment. The food is delicious! Even non-vegans delight. Bring a friend or a date. Be prepared to be wow-ed by the wine list or specialty cocktails!
Some of the best vegan pizza we had! However, it was a little pricey and I wish there were appetizers on the menu. This was our favorite meal we’ve had so far in the city!
Being vegan, I was excited to see a variety of plant based restaurants in the area and chose this one based on the great reviews. But unfortunately we were very disappointed: besides the fact that service was a bit slow, the food was subpar. I picked the eggplant bacon pizza, that first arrived without one of the garnishes; when I had a chance to finally taste it it was soggy and not well cooked. I was expecting a crispy savory eggplant (since they called it “bacon”) but instead was just mushy and simply marinated in liquid smoke, the flavor was overpowering. My husband wasn’t too happy with his either, which is unfortunate as it was our one night off from kids in over 4 years.
The decor is nice, although we weren’t expecting the communal tables. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know beforehand (or maybe I just missed it in the description? Not sure). Also, the menu was different than what we had found online, so that too threw us off. All is all we wouldn’t go back, the prices definitely don’t match the quality of the food.
Great food and friendly service!
It took nearly an hour for my pizza to be served. My boyfriend’s pasta came out about 15 minutes after we ordered. And when my pizza did arrive, the chef had forgotten to add the cheese. I didn’t bother complaining because I was starving. We’re never going back.
Overall we had a very good experience. We went on a Sunday and came for lunch right after they opened. It wasn't too busy, as it was a holiday weekend with many locals out of town. Our server was very helpful and friendly, the food came out quickly, it was very fresh, and overall the taste was nice. Our only complaint was that the crust of the pizza didn't have the crunch or crisp you expect from a brick oven pizza. The only thing I can assume is that they fired it up right as we arrived. It have not had time to get hot enough.
Really good pizza. I didn't miss the cheese at all.
Would definitely go back.
