Delicious food and lovely the concept. Very loud for dinner conversation - good music but it was blasting! Tight seating arrangement as well which we were not thrilled about but the food is what will keep us coming back.
The food was excellent and ready quickly. The waitress was very attentive. $32. for 2 glasses of wine was about $16 dollars too much.
Cozy, warm atmosphere with great, healthy food and good wines.
Maybe it was an off day? The service was good, but the restaurant left a lot to be desired… red and orange wines were sold out as well as juice, soda, and any other non-alcoholic options. The eggplant felt incomplete without a side of pasta and left diners hungry. Limited dessert options. Much different experience than Double Zero NYC and Providence. I’d expect more from Newbury St.
Great vegan food in a noisy, crowded space. Go on an off night for a quieter time.
Awesome pizza pies. The truffle is awesome!
We went to Double Zero Boston while on vacation and it was so great that we made reservations for dinner the next night as well!
Have been to the double zero in NYC many times and was looking forward to taking a family member to the new Boston location. Unfortunately, the bad service really affected our overall experience. Our pizza was brought to the wrong table and sat there for several minutes, we had to request a new one because we wanted to be safe during covid. The servers did not apologize and gave us dirty looks and whispered to each other as if we were in high school. Then by the time our new pizza came out, we still hadn’t received another item we ordered. They told us there was something wrong with their printer, but it was brought out completely cold. I believe servers should always make 20% because restaurants don’t pay them enough hourly, so we still tipped well. However, I was extremely disappointed with our dining experience at Double Zero. My sister also tried calling two days in a row and they told her there was no manager in to speak with.
Good food. Terrible service.
Really delicious vegan pizza, and we have been to many vegan restaurants throughout the country. Innovative cuisine, waitstaff was fantastic, cute outdoor patio. Highly recommend!
Love this restaurant! Boston could use more plant based restaurants with great food that any will enjoy, even omnivores!!
Food was very good although l am not a vegan person. They do need to make it a little cooler, definitely would recommend this place, would return again
The first fully vegan very nice sit down restaurant I've been to. The food was absolutely incredible. The tiramisu is a must try. Service was great, the inside of the restaurant has a cool layout, and they had a great playlist.
They do amazing things with plant-based ingredients. Must try the meatballs with ricotta and sauce, pizza, and the chocolate dessert.
What more can I say that I haven't already?
This is my ultimately favorite restaurant of all time- I'm working on trying the entire menu, I think I'm about 1/2 way there- the food is OUTSTANDING!
Vegan comfort food. Loved it.
If I could give Double Zero more stars, I would!
The food looks and tastes out of this world-
But I'm sure glad they're in OUR world!
Amazing! I brought my non-vegan family and they loved it.
Excellent food, fun place, nice staff. Tell them to consider opening one up on cape Cod, preferably Mashpee area😉
The eggplant parm was great, the calzone, pizza and bolognese were very strange.
Lovely place, food, location, and staff. Enjoy dinner and drinks then stroll along the Charles.
Best pizza I ever had! Must go place for vegans and non vegan alike!
Best vegan italian food I've ever had. And I've been vegan for 5 years.
It was delicious! Amazing to be a vegetarian and be there with a friend with a dairy allergy and for us to eat ANYTHING on the menu! The pizza was delicious, had a perfect crust and incredible tomato sauce.
The food was amazing, definitely the beat spot for plant based in Boston.
We wanted to try a vegan restaurant as my husband is now vegan. The pizzas are quite large and attractive. He loved them! The ambiance is lovely. Both the host and manager were gracious and inviting. Definitely we will return!
The pepperoni pizza and eggplant parm were outstanding! Highly recommend this place and it’s unique take on classic dishes.
We love Angela. She made our night.
Pizza soggy in the middle. That should just never happen. Taste of pizza good. Not to die for. Meatballs were to die for. Chopped salad good. Asked for salad and meatballs first and yet everything came at once.
Delicious food but quite noisy
It was a bummer. Service was super slow - didn’t feel like our dinner was imp. Nothing on the menu was really explained, crammed next to another couple. They didn’t read my reservation note. I’m sure it’ll get better but overall all won’t be back and not worth it. Felt like such a cool concept but that no one really cared to take order, get food on time or to check in how the meal was.
This was my favorite place in NYC and I am ecstatic that they have opened a location in Boston. Generally vegan options either taste just like meat OR feel healthy / nutritious to eat, but not both. Double Zero strikes the incredible balance: it tastes like you ate a pepperoni pizza but you won’t get the ‘meat sweats’! We will be back many, many times.
Terrible service and food quality. Way over-priced.
Loved Double Zero! The pizza was phenomenal and the service outstanding. We were checked on multiple times by our lovely server and the manager. We felt at home and enjoyed the cool drink options!
As a private chef, I am super excited to have a plant-based restaurant like Double Zero here in Boston!!!
We arrived a bit early and were seated promptly by the super-friendly manager, Carlos.
We opted to change tables and sit outside and were accommodated without a problem.
I dined with another chef friend and we sampled the following: Caesar salad, meatballs, eggplant parm, truffle pizza, artichoke pizza, and both desserts (tiramisu and bundini).
EVERYTHING was hot and delicious!!!
Our server, Stephania was super attentive and gregarious.
We were a bit hesitant to check this place out after reading some of the prior reviews but so happy that we followed our gut and checked out Double Zero!!!
The restaurant is only 3 weeks old, and perhaps the previous reviews were based on nights that were short-staffed.
Being in the industry and living in Boston, post-pandemic, I know that most restaurants are short-staffed and hurting for help.
I give this restaurant 5 stars and cannot wait to go back and work through the rest of the menu!!
Never going back. Food was horrible, wait staff was horrible. Worst $30 of my life. I got the potato pizza and the potato was undercooked and covered the whole pizza. This pizza was a white pizza, but had red sauce on it from using a dirty pizza cutter. Not good considering I told the waitress I had an allergy. Food had no flavor as well. And five members of waitstaff will watch you nonstop as you eat. Very uncomfortable.
A bit pricey for what it was and the Caesar was so-so, but the pizza was AMAZING (we got the truffle and the artichoke) and service was really good. Would definitely go back!
This was unfortunately the worst dinning experience I’ve ever had in Boston. The hostess was extremely unprofessional & rude not only to customers but also to her staff. The staff was completely unresponsive and for the first time in my life I felt like no one deserved a tip. There is so much potential to have a great vegan restaurant on Newbury, but not with this management and staff. Employees cooking all wearing T-shirt’s and shorts, 0 covid precautions as you’re sitting at a long table shoulder to shoulder with random people. The staff who attempted to service us immediately dived into inappropriate stories about their life. I would not recommend, the food was your typical vegan eats you can craft at home for much less money. Huge disappointment!!
The food was delicious and our server was so friendly and quick. We came in as a huge party on a Saturday night and everything was amazing! I will be returning.
Food was delicious, sat right away even though we were late for our reservation. We were really impressed with the food and the options. The pizza was outstanding. We had the pesto pizza (my favorite) and the artichoke came in close second. The tossed salad was yummy as well. Wait staff seemed new, which I think comes with end of pandemic and covid and very slow. Took several minutes to get drinks and had to ask twice for seconds. Food took a while, but vibe was nice and we enjoyed the place. Shared long tables so not much distance between you and your neighbors.
