Double LL Steak House & Saloon
There are plenty of cocktails at Double LL Steak House & Saloon worth considering. If you like martinis, for example, you'll want to consider the many options.
Soup, for all 4 people was cold. Waiter very nice and attentive. Waited very long time for entre. Extra large portions which was nice but not very warm. Ordered coffee at end of meal which was mediocre and cold. Only 2 other tables had people so I think reputation may not be that good. We found by googling for ribs.
Great dinner with excellent service. Try the filet you won’t regret it!
Steaks were way to salty. Salmon was cooked until dry.
I went to Double LL with my bestfriend for a girls night & I can honestly say, hands down, the absolute best Filet Mignon I have EVER had. It was cooked to perfection. We loved everything from the appetizer to the bottle of red. Great service, great atmosphere!
10/10
Will DEFINITELY be back!
First impression. Entryway was dirty. Restaurant was not clean and very few people in attendance.
Steak was fair, way to much seasoning, way too salty. Cut of the meat was ok but it was so overseasoned that you could hardly tell. Broccoli was completely bland and unseasoned. Salad was terrible. It appeared that the lettuce was washed and never dried because the dressing was extremely watery and bland. The worst part was it was way overpriced for the quality. $131.00 with tip for 2 steaks a shrimp cocktail and no drinks. That is the kind of price I would expect to pay any Flemings or Ruth’s Chris. I will not be returning.
Great dinner, service was fabulous. My “ go to” restaurant for a nice dinner
Celebrating my son's Wedding Anniversary and we all had such a wonderful time. The food, as always, was absolutely excellent and the service was outstanding! Our waiter was excellent despite the fact that he was busy! I highly recommend Double LL Steak House & Saloon!!
Very professional and didn’t rush us at all. Food was excellent.
My only criticism was that the meat was way too “smoked”. Tasted like I was licking burned oak. The portions were fine. Nice wine list, but the meat was over smoked could only taste the smoke over powered the beef taste. I brought my husband there for his birthday, they brought him ice cream with a candle, very nice... but I was not offered a dessert nor were we offered coffee or an after dinner drink.
Anniversary dinner was a perfect evening. The food and service was amazing. Can’t wait to go back
I FEEL BAD BEING FROM HERE AND NEVER ATE THEIR. $40 AND GOT ALOT OF GRILLED MEAT! I WENT ON SATURDAY NIGHT AND TOOK MY GIRLFRIEND, IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY DINNER! GLAD I CHOSE THIS PLACE.
the steaks, sirloin and fillet, were some of the best we have had anywhere. Salad was a little lacking in freshness. The ambience was not what was expected for the advertised "fine dining". Table clothes were plastic and silverware was low quality walmart. Still it was a good experience.
We have been going there for years and the food and service remains excellent.
Disappointment - Service was very good
Food was the disappointment
1 - Baked potato came foil wrapped which normally means over cooked. It was
2 - I ordered a RARE steak. I cut into thickest part, center of Steak, found patch of rare in center. That is all the rare there was - the balance 95% was well done or medium well.
The food was great, very delicious and did not disappoint. The service was not what I expected. I understand the waiters have to work at a fast pace but we felt like we were being rushed to order and we were a bother whenever we asked a question. Also the young bust boy kept reaching in front of us when we were eating to refill our cups and was doing it to multiple guest in our table. The food was superb and well worth the price but the service made this our first and last time here.
very good steak and the price with the coupon was super
Great Service!
We were a party of 7. Good tasting food, steak cooked perfect to your like. Vegan friendly and best no meat burger I've ever tasted. limited Parking with addt'l parking on the street. No dress code, and reservations may be required. Host friendly, but Did not get the same vibe from the bartender who later became our waiter.
Overall, the waiter was prompt and got our orders right the first time, he just didn't interact for being a bartender. I'll go again, for the food alone.
Laid back restaurant but food is a bit pricey. However, portions are big. Service was great
As always, a great steak and good service!
Great food and great service. The decor could use some attention so can the overall quality of the restaurant. One of the better steaks I have had.
Bar service while waiting for the table was very slow. Why one bartender for prime time during major trade show (world ag Expo)??
Steaks were good. But at $50 a piece, I would expect more ambience (the dining room is like a cafeteria). And the place was a pig-sty. Dirty, stuff all over the floors. Bathrooms were atrocious. Where were the cleaners?
Great food great service price was a little high had a reservation for 7 but got us in early so thank you
First the waiter spilled water on me within the first 5 minutes. Which hey accidents happen! But not to get our drinks even ordered for 40 minutes is absolutely absurd. Then another waiter starred down my customer when she made a comment about waiting another 40 minutes after we asked for the wine list. Almost as if he was going to harm her. I’ve never dealt with such poor service in my life. This is extremely unfortunate as the food is great and we would have spent more money had the waiters provided better service.
A bit pricey for the location & ambiance but the steaks were great, about as good as I've ever had. The sides were fair, nothing wrong just very average.
We went on New Year’s Eve we had a reservation and were seating within 15 min. When the waiter came to take our order we ordered and then were informed that they did not have the special they were running, which was prime rib. I thought they should have crossed it off the menu or told us before we choose our main entree. The environment was nice, and we had pretty good service. The food portions were good but the over all quality was average. I had halibut and my friends had steaks and ribs.
Where do I start? Double LL is a steakhouse that is not low in price, that being said, I was also led to believe through a colleague that this restaurant would be a good experience...
Even with a reservation, we waited over 10 minutes for a host to even acknowledge us. We waited another 5-10 minutes to be seated only to find that the room we were seated in was completely empty. Beyond that, our table was broken, literally broken. I was paying $50 a plate to sit at a table that was broken.
When scanning the room, the room looked like we were in a function hall and not a steakhouse. Beyond that, there was trash and silverware on the floor. When cleaning tables, they would grab the plates and not sweep up at all!
I was so turned off at this point that I could have left at that moment. There was also no drink menu, you had to literally ask what was available. The food was average but not justified of charging nearly $50 a plate.
Lastly, the bathrooms had zero changing tables! We had our child with us and nowhere to change him, our solution was to change him in the car. It was super upsetting. I must say, we would NEVER come back to this place.
We went I. A double date with our adult children.
Great Waiter and great food.
Overall food was Ok. I’m a bit picky on steaks and although the steaks flavor was good they had way too much char on the steaks for my taste. Also for the cost per plate I’d expect to be closer to aged steaks and they were not. Also the amount of food given was limited for the price of amount given.
This was our first time at the Double L Steak House & Saloon. Customer service was awesome, drinks were always kept full, vibe was cozy and comfortable. Menu had lots to choose from. Best steaks we have ever had. Husband had Black Pepper Crusted New York and I have the Sirloin. Definitely will go back.
We are never disappointed when we dine here. The food is unparalleled. The service is spectacular. Every meal is a great dining experience.
Seated quickly. Wine list very good to excellent! Did not care for the bread. All else great. Fillet Mignon was oh so tender. New York was a little tough but flavorful. Presentation very appealing. Creme Brulee very good. Plate size was a good amount of food for dollar. Would definitely go again.
As always a great meal. I’ve never been disappointed in the bacon wrapped filet. Cooked to perfection. The grilled broccoli was delicious as well. Excellent service too!
Had a good steak. Good wine selection. Great desserts
As usual, this restaurant hits on all cylinders. To be fair, I am a rabid carnivore so it already earns stars to that end. The ambiance is relaxed and very inviting. The history strewn throughout is worth the entrance alone. The wine list is loaded with incredible choices from Spain, France, and, of course, Napa. There is even little Italian list with solid choices. The owner TRULY knows his wine. That has always been the case and continues to be so today. The bonus here is that the wines are priced to drink... none of this tripling the bottle cost. The only problem is choosing just one. On to the food.
How in the hell do you guys cook a New York so perfectly! I had the 16 oz peppercorn New York and it was beyond incredible. Cooked to perfection, something few chefs seem to know how to do and incredibly tender and moist. It took all my staying power to not eat to excess. My wife had the filet medallions with a nice bernaise sauce...heavenly. I don't know how people eat entire meals here, but who cares, it is well worth the trip. The prices were also very reasonable. This meal would easily cost twice as much in the bay area, for half the quality. Do not hesitate to go any time you are in Visalia. Fact is, it is one of the best steakhouses you will ever has the pleasure of dining at. Oh, and Ricky, the waiter, outstanding service. He was incredibly helpful in choosing wine and dishes. His recommendations were out of this world. He was also handling the room like a champion. It takes a special kind of professional to cover that room and he did it without any hitches. The support staff was always top notch. Will, of course, be back, for that peppercorn steak and more great wine!!!
Fathers Day
Our group of six was the only customers in the restaurant. Absolutely huge quantity of meat served with each meal. Seriously, one meal will feed three to four people. Very expensive, but per pound of meat - not that bad. Tasted fine, but not outstanding.
Love this place. Will definitely be back!
Debbie was a fabulous waitress. She gave great service and a great sense of humor. Dinner was excellent.
