About Double Cut Grill - Wisconsin Dells
Kalahari Resorts’ signature dining experience. Double Cut - the name taken from a larger cut of meat - is a contemporary steakhouse that functions as a casual restaurant and watering hole during the early dining hours, but transitions into a high-energy bar and lounge-driven environment as the night progresses. Every detail has been considered to transform you from the stresses of life - into an experience and world that won’t soon be forgotten.
Like the restaurant itself, the menu departs from a classic steakhouse without chasing away the traditionalists. Categories range from classic steaks and chops to seafood.

Double Cut Grill - Wisconsin Dells Ratings and Reviews
I went for a Valentine’s Day dinner and the food wasn’t bad but the service was awful and when we brought it to the our servers attention her and the manager acted like it was no big deal. I’m fine with spending money on a good meal at a higher class restaurant but I expect good service and you don’t have it. I will never eat here again and will never recommend the double cut grill
I booked a trip to the Kalahari for my sons birthday. My wife and I decided to eat at Double Cut and brings the kids along. My initial impression upon walking through the door was that it was a nicely decorated restaurant and great atmosphere. Despite not being a children’s restaurant, the staff was very accommodating with a high chair and kids menus. We were seated and that is where disappointment began to set in. We made our selections and provided our choices to the waitress. Let me tell you, it took nearly 45 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, everyone’s was decent (my wife’s chicken was great), but, my $48 steak was absolutely nothing to write home about. The only flavor it had was from the char marks. We were checked on once and it’s my fault I didn’t pipe up and inform them of the dissatisfaction. I kept eating thinking it would get even slightly better. Once we were done, we sat for a while until we were able to gather our boxes and finally move on to something better, dessert at the ice cream stand in the main hotel lobby. I would not recommend to go here for a steak. I’ve been to many steak joints and I enjoy a good cut with excellent flavor, something this steak was lacking (also a third of the entire bill).
Our group of 6 adults selected Double Cut to celebrate family events; we were seated at a wonderful round table and received great service. Great steaks, seafood and wine. The 'sides to share' were fun but large so don't over order. We ordered 3 and it was too much for 6. I wouldn't consider this a child appropriate place.
Since when did energetic become having to yell to be heard by the person sitting next to you?!? Branded a high-end steak house, yet people with shorts and flip-flops were seated right next to us.... In the middle of JANUARY! WAY to pricey for the clientele. Asked to be seated no where near children and we were seated right between two 8-person tables, both with 2 screaming meemies. Service was really slow. Waited 20 minutes (timed) between ordering dessert and receiving dessert and between asking for check and getting check. Spend your money elsewhere.
We had a group of 6 people and our reservation was for New Years Eve. We arrived on time and our table was ready. Our waitress was well informed and very accommodating! One person in our party was in a wheelchair and the hostess made sure our table was in a good location and wheelchair accessible. The food was spectacular, the steaks were prepared to everyone’s liking and the tuna tartare appetizer was delicious! We had a great time and I highly recommend the Double Cut Steakhouse. An added plus was booking the reservation with the Open Table app. Very user friendly!
Food was incredible! Service could have been a little better. Waitress seemed to disappear at times. Food was delivered and then she never seemed to come back. Dessert was amazing. Live Jazz music was a little much. When calling restaurant you cannot hear anything, as the musician is right next to hostess stand. When sitting in back dining room music is tolerable but still a little loud.
Lovely atmosphere but the service was awful. Waited over an hour for 2 medium steaks and some kids meals. Steaks came out over done like they were rushed through. We were really looking forward to a nice meal for our daughters birthday. Wouldn’t go back or recommend.
Christmas Dinner-was outstanding, my son and husband had Prime Rib-best they ever ate. My filet was great and so was crab stuffed shrimp. Really good garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus too. Nice pace and quiet. Took home the family size cheesecake for dessert. All was delicious.
I will assume that this had something to do with it being Christmas evening...but I did not enjoy this at all. The server was aloof; when we saw her. After waiting almost 30 minutes, we had to flag down the manager to get our bill. None of the food was hot. One steak was not as requested; lobster mac and cheese was cold, with only one piece of lobster in it, and totally flavorless. This was an epic fail on every conceivable level!
We didn’t feel the price was correct for just a piece of steak and pay extra for sides ! Drinks are outrageously priced! We had the oysters Rockefeller wasn’t all that great! Disliked the mozzarella cheese appetizer! It was Thanksgiving and should have had a Turkey meal option!
We have gone to this restaurant for the a number of years. But this was the worse service and food we've gotten. It wasn't even that busy. Our group was large (19). We didn't get bread till we had been sitting there for about 45 minutes. Our water never got refilled. When our food came it was cold. We didn't want to wait any longer so we didn't complain. Once the waitress served the food, we didn't see them again till they brought the check and asked if we wanted to dessert. For the price you pay the service and food quality should be outstanding! Won't return next year.
The Filet was very tender and tasty, but I got my husband's medium rare and he got my medium (mine was topped with mushrooms so we couldn't trade and just ate what we got as we were hungry and eating with another couple). No salad comes with the meal which is a big disappointment. Also, I ordered the Gruyere Popover which was very good, but the Maple Bourbon butter served with it is definitely a different and very strong flavor. Unfortunately, not a flavor I cared for. The sides to share indicate they feed 3 people, but the portions are very small. Compared to another similar restaurant in the area, the portions and overall experience were quite disappointing.
The food, service, atmosphere were all stellar. We had an infant and a noisy toddler, and were treated with the utmost respect in spite of it. Our only complaint is that although we were celebrating both a wedding AND a birthday, there wasn’t so much as a congratulations. (We’d answered several times what the occasions were, only when asked, but it seemed nobody actually cared what the answer was. Why ask if you’re not going to at least acknowledge the reply?) We will definitely be back, but only for a special occasion, even if the staff doesn’t care what the occasion is.
Food was wonderful! Our server was terrific, our 10 yr old was not hungry and our 5 yr old doesn't eat much, so we only ordered 1 kids meal. The waitress took it upon herself to have the meal split on to two plates. It doesn't sound like much but it was wonderful to have a waitress that cared and paid attention.
The food and service was excellent! The only complaint would be that since it was just my wife and trying to have a nice meal, there was a screaming child for 10 minutes next to us. I think it would be better to have family in a certain area and couples that don't want a lot of distraction in another. Other than that it was very good!
This restaurant was in a resort area and very pricey. My husband ordered a steak that was $48 dollars and I ordered a prime rib @ $32. The waitress tried to upsell each of us with a 'coating' for the steak. We declined the offer because it added extra calories, extra salt and cost to our entre. We ordered our meat 'medium rare'. The prime rib came to the table as rare and coated in a thick salt crust. I asked the waitress what that was and why that was on there. It was completely inedible. My husband's steak was also coated in a thick salt which is very unhealthy for him. I rubbed as much off my meat as I could but ended up having to discard at least 1/3 of the prime rib. It made the whole dining experience unpleasant. Because it was early October, a bit rainy, we ordered the clam chowder as an appetizer. It had a pleasant taste but it was not close to being a soup. It was so thick and there was no liquid in the bowl. I will never go to this restaurant again nor would I recommend it. The atmosphere was nice and for a Friday night, the place was very empty. But the hostess sat us near a couple with a crying, whiny toddler. That was the dagger. The evening was completely ruined for us.
We started with oysters which were among the best I ever had. We ordered steaks, medium rare with peppercorn sauce and a baked potato.
The steaks were perfect and with the sauce delicious. The baked potato was the best I ever had.
The server was informed and very attentive.
I traveled for two companies for over ten years. I was on a virtually unlimited expense account. I would hold this restaurant up to any of the many I have had the pleasure of eating at.
Great place! Stayed at the Kalahari for business and decided to have dinner the evening before the conference. We were seated immediately (our choice), and was attended to right away. Our waitress was very helpful, knowledgeable and very attentive to our wishes. Food was very good and portions were large! Drinks also were very good and many different choices on the menu as well as extensive wine choices. Would definitely go back and I will highly recommend !
We were using the Kalahari for a business trade show, and staff knew we were going to be coming to dinner, Bar very under staffed, bartenders were very inattentive, and slow. Drinks were excellent when you finally received them. The dinning room staff was excellent and very engaging, Meal was excellent. We will be back, may just have before and after dinner drinks someplace else.
