Double Cut Grill - Wisconsin Dells
Like the restaurant itself, the menu departs from a classic steakhouse without chasing away the traditionalists. Categories range from classic steaks and chops to seafood.
hand-cut & triple cooked
6oz au jus
I want to start off by saying the food here is nothing short of amazing for the most part. The service, on the other hand, left much to be desired. It was by far the best steak I have ever had, but I would pass on the lobster mac and cheese if I were to come back. It hadn't been bad, but it was definitely not up to my expectations based on how the rest of our meal tasted. Now on to the bad parts. First, we waited over 20 minutes past our reservation time to actually get seated. Had this been the only problem, I would chalk it up to people enjoying their meal longer than expected and not be writing this review. But alas, this was only the beginning. We waited 10 minutes to get our drink orders in. This was also when we noticed one of our wine glasses set at our table was full of lipstick. The server made a snarky comment that we wouldn't be using the glasses on the table anyway since we ordered a white wine and the glasses were for red wines. The comment rubbed me the wrong way, but I tried to let it go. 20 more minutes later we finally get our bottle of wine brought to our table with an apology that it took so long since they couldn't find the bottle we asked for so they had to look around for it. Once the food got to our table we were a bit more satisfied. Had the meal been cheaper these things problems wouldn't have bothered us so much, but if I am spending $200 dollars for a two-person dinner date, I don't expect to have so many issues with the service. I likely won't be back again.
They set up a special table for us for our honeymoon that was very nice and quiet. The service was great and the food was really good.
Over the top. Food was exceptional. Best walleye I have ever had. Service from Matt and Ashley was phenomenal. Really enjoyed the wine room.
We like to support our restaurants when we can . Coming to Kalahari was a perfect opportunity to spend on quality food and service . Sadly , Double Cut is hurting . Our vodka martini and Raspberry Wisp had almost no alcohol in it . Their bar selection seems to be heavily watered down. These drinks are $12-$14 each so we expect a decent drink. The salad had a puddle of water on the bottom on the plate, either from the dressing or ore made salad sitting in a fridge and moisture seeping down .The French onion was one of the worst I ever had, tasted watered down as well and lacking flavor. My husband got a glass of wine , hoping , and that tasted like water was added as well . This is becoming a common practice I find as of late for business but it’s unethical. As consumers , we should get what not only we order and what is described but what we pay for . Avoid all cocktails and alcohol beverages here .
It was nice to be seated in a quiet space like we asked. Our waiter didn’t really suggest anything, being our first time there it would have been nice. The bourbon mushrooms were great and our sparkling moscato. We would have had dessert but after waiting what felt like twenty minutes for our waiter to even see we were done eating, we just wanted to leave. Beautiful place, food was good, service was sub par.
Girlfriends steak very spicy and girlfriends daughters meal was not what we expected we come in a lot
Loved this restaurant! We ate there 10/9/20 and 10/11/20. Amazing food and service. Hanging bacon was a new experience but was amazing.
As great as always. There's are a reason we keep returning.
The Double Cut looks great, great setting. The food was under cooked, the pricing is outrageously expensive. They charge a bottle of Wollershiem wine $30 when you could buy a $15 bottle. They don’t have a description under the meals on what it entails, my boyfriend got the chicken, well it didn’t specify that it was drenched in a white thick coating of sauce. I asked for medium steak and they brought it out rare,Ike they slapped it on a pan for 5 min and called it good. Will not go back, wish I could have received my money back.
What I love about this place is the attention to detail. Everything was done to myself and my parties liking. The fillet and prime rib was done to perfection and the starters were awesome!
I dined at the restaurant on 10/1 celebrating my birthday. Unfortunately the staff was unable to sing Happy birthday. Kind of disappointing
Have been there several time and will continue to go. The server on this visit was not up par with other visits.
Service was slow , burger wasn’t seasoned , not much food for the price paid.
Love the ambience
The 30oz. Tomahawk Chop was Absoooolutely Amaaaazing!
Scallop had too much grit and sand on all scallops on dish.
Awesome, Atmosphere and the food was really good!
Good food, good wine. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff.
Great food and service. We define come again 😊😊😊
I had an amazing experience, my server Brandon was great, the oyster appetizers was heavenly and the seabass was the best I've ever had👏🏾. Thanks for an excellent service.
The food was terrific. We enjoyed our meal greatly. Fairly priced for the quality of food, but still a bit on the expensive side. This is a perfect restaurant for a special occasion, not too many people could afford to come here on a frequent basis.
Had the New York Strip with baked potato and Sliders for starter, very good food in general, even if a little on the spendy side
Everything was perfect. Food was amazing. Waitress was very nice. Perfect ambiance for our anniversary dinner.
First class food - first class wait staff, and a beautiful setting.
Such an amazing place for a date night ! Their food was amazing & service was outstanding ! :)
Service was excellent
10 of us had an awesome time drinking fine wine, eating the fresh seafood tower and great steaks. Mallory was wonderful!
Good was amazing and absolutely worth the price. Our waitress was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She always made sure our needs were met.
Good Steakhouse for WI Dells, not so much compared to big-city steakhouses. I made a Reservation for 4 (adults), and were sat at a regular booth. A walk-in group of 3 came in at the same time/sat right after us, and they were sat in a larger corner booth. We were fumbling over table space the whole dinner.
Starter salads are huge portions, so good for value but almost too much food for a starter. Menu add-ons, which are kind of unavoidable, make the bill skyrocket, quickly. We ordered 2 Filets, 2 Prime Ribs: Filets were excellent. Both Prime Rib consumers were sick ~3am. Their illness could have come from a number of things, but they both ordered the prime rib, and both were sick around 3am.
All in all, if looking for a fancy steakhouse while staying at the Kalahari, go here; it's not bad.
This is our second time eating there. We really enjoy. Very clean and elegant atmosphere. The food is great quality. The service is awesome!! We enjoyed our experience and of course will be back.
Brandon our server was Awesome and the Food was Fantastic.
I love this restaurant! Never have been disappointed with the service or the food! Great place to eat!
The Prime Rib was phenomenal. My husband had the ribeye and it was pretty charred and didn’t enjoy it as much as I loved my meal. Great ambiance and great service.
One of the best dinners we had in awhile! The bread and butter was good, had some amazing wine from the extensive wine list and the prime rib and mashed potatoes were great.
Food was ok, way overpriced for portion sizes. Service was slow considering it was basically empty
Good wine list, great appetizers, and great steaks. Large open dining areas can get noisy at times. Enjoyed the drinks and fireplace lounge area.
Dinner with my sons. Everything was very well done. Thank you!
This restaurant was really nice. The waitress really made the children feel comfortable with ordering from menu.
They seemed to be understaffed. Every single table near me had an issue with more than one thing including my table I feel like it was bc of COVID and not staffing properly.
Food was okay.
Our server was AMAZING!!! Even with the large party that came in, he still made sure that we were taken care of, enjoyed our food and was up beat and personable.
The food was amazing but the service is what made our visit!!
