Double Cut Grill - Wisconsin Dells
Like the restaurant itself, the menu departs from a classic steakhouse without chasing away the traditionalists. Categories range from classic steaks and chops to seafood.
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night while staying at the Kalahari and let me say we were not disappointing. We got there a little earlier so we could get a drink and just relax before dinner. There was a live sax player and let me just say that he was incredible! He played the song I requested and he blew us away so that made dinner even better. Our server was on point the entire night with recommendations, to refills on our drinks. And the FOOD! My boyfriend got the prime rib ( which he was nice enough to share some) and it was so good! I got the scallops and they were perfectly seasoned and a delicate dinner. We split the lobster mac n cheese and it was probably the best mac n cheese I have ever had, it was creamy and not too much. I loved the atmosphere as well, a darker setting and fire places made for a nice comfortable and romantic evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful dinning experience.
This was not our first visit to double cut. We almost always enjoy a meal here when staying at the Kalahari. This particular visit has left us a bit disappointed for several reasons. The service was slow and very inattentive. The seafood tower for two was underwhelming at best, with four 26/30 count shrimp trying to be passed off as jumbo, a single crab leg split in half and jammed in ice and with a $60 price tag this is unacceptable. The escargot was nearly burned with the bread crumb topping being overcooked and the butter being scorched it was very dissappointing. When we asked our server if the chili was spicy we were told it was not, so we ordered it for our ten year old. When it arrived it was indeed too spicy for a child who enjoys items such as buffalo wings. Last but not least we have made a tradition of celebrating a birthday at double cut and this time our Sons birthday was not acknowledged by our server, had it not been the previous three years this would not have been an issue. Overall we were very disappointed with our visit and hope these issues can be corrected as we would love to return again soon.
You chefs serve my T bone over easy when i clearly order well Done. Plus i really Believe you prices are to much for what you offer. The front people let me and my family, seat next to the fire place for 15 min. With out give me any notice what i should do. I don't feel i will back there but i do understand I'm just a Latino guy making a complaint thank you so much.
NYE dinner was great!
We went for New Years Eve and while the food was very good, the noise level in the section we were seated was overwhelming. It was so loud that my husband had to lean over several times to be able to hear what I was saying and the section wasn't even full. The music was turned up louder than necessary so it may have been people trying to talk over the music. The atmosphere was more of a loud family restaurant than a fine dining experience. The bar was very nice and the seating by the fire places was nice as well and it was much quieter in those areas than in the dining area. Our service was ok but not what I would expect for a bill that was almost $200 with no alcohol. The menu is all ala carte but the portions are good and the steak was amazing. Overall I will not return to this restaurant for dinner. There are much better places for similar price in the Dells.
The food was cold, boring, they couldn't get the temp of my steak right. I've been going there for new year's for almost a decade and it was horrible!
My only disappointment was that the deserts were only offered as a table serving. Everything else was top notch.
Our first time. It was an early NYE dinner, and we drove through a blizzard to get here. The restaurant was So pretty & food was exceptional!!!
Also LoVed the martini that our Wonderful waitress suggested🤩
We will be returning!!!
Bone in ribeye didn’t have much taste, needed spices
Great ambiance, food and service! Will definitely come back!
Best chicken i have ever had! Wonderful food and atmosphere!
2nd visit and once again very impressed. This time we had a fabulous Tomahawk steak with spinach & asparagus as a side. It was all cooked to perfection. Flavorful and plenty to share. Service was also impeccable. Pretty sure we‘ll be back for a 3rd visit! We also had 2 kids with us - 2 & 5 years old - who were very happy with their meals, coloring page and room in the booth to play a little
The staff was amazing and very accommodating. Jara was especially very organized and did a great job taking care of our party. Thanks!
Was somewhat disappointed with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Expected it to be more fine dining. Disappointed with how loud the noise was. Our food and server did a great job though.
Outstanding food! Great service, highly recommended
We have been here a number of other times but did not find the food to be as Top Shelf as in the past. Our server was awesome. Just not sure we'll hurry back.
Many restaurants in the Dells try really hard to be really good . . . Double Cut is EXCEPTIONAL. The ambiance and food are first rate. Service was very good, just shy of exceptional as well. The prices are NOT CHEAP so do not bring the kids or people on a limited budget. The food rivals the finest restaurants in which we have dined. We look forward to returning to explore more of the seafood appetizers, which we were unable to do on this particular visit. If you want to impress a date or celebrate an anniversary, and you find yourself in the Dells, swank it up and head to the Double Cut.
This was our second time there and we were let down this time. The restaurant didn’t seem that busy, but our waitress seemed to take forever. The manager came by to check on us at one point. Food was good, just not as memorable as the first visit.
Texas Roadhouse has a much better bone-in ribeye for 1/2 the price. We were sat near the kitchen when there were lots of open tables. They seemed short staffed. $250 for three of us, no desserts. I'd only go there for a drink to sit by the fireplace. That's it. The atmosphere is the only thing I cared for other than my company.
Had a wonderful steak dinner. Ala carte salad and sides to share for the 4 of us. Server Brandon was excellent, Personable, nice, funny and made our evening for my son's early bday dinner. Handmade cocktails with local ingredients, beautiful decor, gas firepits, lots of tvs in bar area, couple of rooms for private parties. Thanks to Brandon our server, we had delicious food, on the expensive side but well worth it.
Very good food and service
Good food if you stick to steak and roast beef. One of our party tried to do chicken salad and that was disappointing.
Overall it is a good spot for dinner if staying at the resort but it is reaching (and charging) for a level of sophistication that isn’t there.
Not great food for the price.
The lobster bisque soup was sub par, not a great taste.
Crab cakes were very good.
The bread served on cutting board was not good, had no flavor at all.
May suggest rosemary or garlic flavors to it. Or a flavored spreadable butter. No taste to bread at all.
Steak ordered by my date was flat, not very thick cut for the price.
Atmosphere was amazing. My food was good, however, the "french" salad dressing was gross. The blue cheese salad was also not very good. We mentioned we did not like either and the one salad that wasn't touched was removed and the blue cheese salad was just disposed of. There wasn't any offer for a different side or and adjustment, or anything. I felt that for the price that was paid, some alternative should have been offered.
For the amount of dollars spent, some of the dishes could have been better. Prime Rib dishes were luke warm and the cuts were really fatty. Have had this dish in prior events but not sure this was the best for the money. Server was great.
Waiter was great. Very knowledgeable. Good was fabulous. We ordered 4 qty hashbrowns... and they're still delicious 2 days later, as we had bigger eyes than tummies. Will be back soon. Bring on the oysters!!!! Thaaank you for such a great dining experience.

The shrimp tempura was excellent as were the steaks. Jazz player was a bit loud when we first walked in. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Great place to plan a romantic date ora casual meal.
Food was very good, Lobster Mac and Cheese tasted kind of sweet, but other wise good
I had a great time and the Waiter was a great lady and so kind, what a fantastic time the place is soo nice as well
Went here for a special evening in the Dells, what a great experience. Our server Brandon was friendly, informative, funny and efficient. Despite a hickup with my steak, he corrected it quickly and without issue. Everything we had from the drinks to the sides was well prepared and delicious.
A great spot for an intimate evening or a group.
Food was absolutely phenomenal, steaks were cooked perfectly, seafood was amazing and service was extremely friendly. One of the best dining experiences our family of 6 has had!
Outstanding service by waiter Andrew who took extra steps to accommodate us with great insight on all menu items and creativity with sides
Great choice for fancy dining, consistent with quality steaks , wine selection, service and athmosphere.
We had a great time talking with the other couple we went out with. It was a little loud at the bar after dinner with the music playing right next to the bar but was still a great evening.
Very very good. Food service was a bit slow, but that in no ways is anything to worry about. Entire group loved the meal. Thanks!
Food was excellent. Bartender said they did not carry the tequila I requested, but it was in their special margarita on the menu. Waiter said they did have it and brought me a drink. Service was okay, very slow. After dinner we waited almost 10 minutes for desert menus. Half of our group ordered but 15 min later they brought out half of the desert orders. We requested that they just forget about our desert order because we didn't want everyone waiting for us. They took the bill to remove it, said okay, and then 10 min later came back with the same bill and desert. We mentioned it didn't sound as good after waiting 20 min after ordering it (waiter said "he just put it out").....the table was frustrated that it was so long in between clearing plates and dessert to when we got our bills...everything just took really long but it was not busy.
Food was fantastic, one of the best steaks I have ever had. We would try it again and hope for better service.
Knowledgeable, creative, charismatic server
Lonely sax wafting in from the next room
