Transport into our contemporary steakhouse, featuring a menu with robust selections cooked over hot coals including steak, seafood, chops, chicken and vegetables.
The décor will be modern, but not pretentious. The ambiance, sophisticated and multisensory, yet comfortable. The staff, educated, but not showy. The uniforms unique, but classically tasteful. Welcome to Double Cut.
The menu departs from a classic steakhouse without chasing away traditionalists. Categories will range from classic steaks and chops to seafood – including lobster tail.
One quality many items share: the distinctive flavor imparted by Double Cut's charcoal grill.
The restaurant is wonderful! The service was top notch and the food was absolutely amazing. They had live music which added to the ambiance. We will definitely go back next time we are in town.
Wanted something special for Valantine"s Day and found the dinner special here. Having never been to Kalaharie before' I make the reservation for the 4 of us for dinner. I was overcome how nice and cozy it was and how the hostes and waitress were so attenive and helpfull to my family. The dinner was excelent and served so wonderfull. All I can say is thankyou for a wonderfull special evening We will definitly recommend to our friends to join us for dinner there again . Thank you; Michael D Bader
Delicious food, great service, beautiful ambiance, delightful piano player. Amazing! Can’t wait to return!!
Excellent food! It was Valentine’s Day so there was a special - dinner for 2 for $99. Wait staff could not have been nicer!!
The food and service was fantastic all the way from the salad to the Entree. I highly recommend the tomahawk chop! I only rated it a 3 because the ladies room inside the restuarant was not the cleanest and I'm glad my daughter didn't need to use it until after we had already eaten.
Beautiful restaurant with outstanding food and very attentive service.
Awesome food & Great service!
Delicious food just be prepared for a large bill. Worth it though. Drinks, steaks, seafood was really good.
Service and food was outstanding. The manager and wait staff were very warm and inviting.
Would love to have some live entertainment such as light jazz band or a pianist.
Service was good, restaurant was beautiful. Unfortunately the steaks were very tough. My wife and I ordered the tomahawk chop MR, and it came out MW. My steak was so tough. I thought because it was over cooked it may have been the reason. However, It wasn’t just my steak but the other steaks at the table (Filet Mignon, Rib-eye, porter house, and another tomahawk chop) all those steaks were cooked to the likings of the other members, but we all agreed that the steaks were too tough. Would not recommend especially price.
The dining experience was fabulous & quite elegant. The waiter was very friendly & professional. The food was delicious. I will be going back ASAP.
We had Andrew as our server... he was amazing... will definitely be dinning there again.
We had outstanding service from 3 different employees. They checked to make sure we were ok, but never rushed us. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. Food was prepared exactly as we asked and it was delicious. You could cut the steak with a fork. We would definitely come here again.
Serving staff can be trained a little better for a steakhouse. We didn’t need to hear that the waiter needed to be changed because they weren’t feeling well and in the bathroom.
The food was delicious. We went back 2 nights later as well because we tried all the restaurants in Kalahari & they are pretty awful, except for Double Cut. Food is fabaulous but it is pretty pricy
A good meal at a Waterpark. A little pricey for the meal. It was Solid but not a Manhattan steak house
Food was decent, service was a bit slow but the biggest complaint was the overall value. Way too expensive- save your money for a real steak house with amazing service
Food was very good. Prices were on the high side but overall I'd go back again.
A relaxing and breathtaking ambience. It was unfortunate that there was a crying baby close to our table. My Husband steak was tuff for medium cooked. If they intend to leave baked potatoes on the menu, I suggest the cook actually “bake” it. Mine was so hard I couldn’t mash it with my fork.
Price was very reasonable for al a carte.
Would have liked more to choose from on the menu. Just about every dish had some sort of fish.
I do not see us coming back. We will continue to go to Ruths Chris Steakhouse instead.
Thank you for a lovely experience.
Went there with our family to celebrate my daughters birthday, after we seated nobody came to get our order for drinks or food. A server that walked by a few times came to help he got our order but was too occupied with a bigger table and never came back to see if we needed anything else or even to offer desserts, we had to call someone and ask for it, our daughter ended up falling asleep waiting for it and we had to put the dessert to go. Very disappoint with the service.
I would recommend Double Cut Grill to friends and family!
Restaurant was nice, no hand towels in women’s room for the two hours we were there and another table alerted them when we sat. Food was great. It service was off its game.
Ordered my steak rare and it came out well done. Asked to sample both their cabs and the server lied and said they only had one that evening. Needless to say when we had a night cap at the bar both cabs were available and he poured me the worse one for dinner. Our server was very slow, dismissive and uninterested in the quality of service and food.
Service isn’t good. We waited 2 hours before we got seated even though we had a reservation. We were told too many tickets couldn’t be in the kitchen at once. Staffing seems to be the issue
The appetizers and main course were good; the vegetable side was very undercooked- almost raw broccoli with little to no seasoning. Water cost $14 for the 2 of us; absurd!!!!
Under staffed and overpriced - not worth the time (because you’ll need twice as much as you think) or the money.
While at Kalahari Resort for the weekend due to a gymnastics meet several parents wanted a Adult dinner without kids. This was fantastic. We had great drinks, appetizers and steak dinners. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend if you are going to the resort but I wouldn’t go out of my way if I wasn’t. Reservation recommended.
The decor was lovely, and the service was top-notch. The food was good. It wasn’t on the same level as Ruth’s Chris or Morton’s, despite the prices being comparable. This was the best restaurant on the Kalahari property, and we enjoyed it quite a bit.
Quiet time away from the kids
The food was good but our waiter was not. Ordered drinks and our kids food, then waited.....and waited. Got drinks, ordered our appetizer, then waited.....and waited. Got appetizer, then...you guessed it...waited and waited and waited and waited. At the hour and a half mark we asked if he could check and we were told we were the 2nd ticket on the line. It seemed like most of the waiters did not have much training for the "level" of restaurant that this is portraying to be. I thought that maybe we just got the bad server but I don't think any of the others seemed much better. Bottom line, food was good but everything else made for a bad experience.
Not a good experience at all. We had a party of 10 including kids and everything took forever!! There were people that came after us that got food before us. My cousin ordered a new york strip cooked medium and had to send it back 2 times! Needless to say he didn't even get to eat a meal. We ordered 2 tomahawk steaks which were each $120 ...1 came out great the other not so much. They asked if we wanted the chef to come out and cut it off the bone for us and then 10min later came back and said he was too busy. Overall we were very disappointed in our experience. Definitely not worth the money.
We were so looking forward to trying this steak house. However, we were very disappointed. The prices are NYC steakhouse prices, but the quality of the food is definitely not. My husband's filet was over cooked. He sent it back and we had all finished eating before his food ever came back. He had to go find the manager to even get his new one. We also ordered the lobster mac and cheese and there was a mix up and they cooked baked potatoes instead so we ended up leaving before that arrived also. They did comp us my husband's meal (which he never ate) and a 20% discount but we will not be going back. Definitely do not waste your time or money.
Top to bottom great food and service. Celebrated our anniversary with our kids and it was great.
Hit and miss. Ate there twice during a recent stay. On my first visit the food was good and the service was just right. We then went the next night and found the food to be so-so (the calamari was much too salty and greasy) and the service was lacking (drinks arrived 20 minutes after ordering and then only after we sought out our waitress to ask why and bread never arrived). Needs work for the food and service to match the sleek and tasteful decor.
Love the food. We have not stayed at Khalari - we have a house in lake Harmony and just go here for a great meal!
The steak was very disappointing. My wife and I both had the filet mignon.
The fries shrimp on the kids menu was frozen shrimp out of a box.
The server was very nice, and the staff was attentive, but the food is not very good.
Likely not going back.
Prices are high. Food was really good. Waitress was great until she disappeared when we were ready for our check.
Took my sons to Kalahari Resort for a post-NYE trip. Decided to forego the usual resort food for a steakhouse. I was pleasantly surprised because usually I do not expect much at a resort.
The appetizers and raw bar selections were top notch as was my eldest son’s filet. My prime rib was too fatty but had great flavor. Desserts were excellent.
Portions, especially dessert, could be shared.
It was very pricey but worth it. Service was excellent. If we return to Kalahari (and probably will), we would eat @ Double Cut again.
So this is the second time I've been here. The first time, my experience was much different, much better, than this time. Dinner was at 7 and we sat in the main dining room, 4 adults. There were several families with young children, screaming, crying, running around and even handling the wine glasses from other empty tables. We all have children of our own, so children aren't the problem. But the lack of respect for others in the dining area was a bit overwhelming. That was the first turn off...two of the four wine glasses on our table were dirty. My steak was good..not great and the broccoli was a bit brown on the ends...not entirely appetizing. I had the tuna tartar for appetizer and that was delicious. Our waiter was very kind and somewhat apologetic for the unruly dining area. After we ate, a very large party with approximately 12 children, all under the age of 10 came in and sat at the table behind us. So we decided to enjoy an after dinner drink by the bar, a seating area around the fire-we sat there for cocktails. Again, a couple of the glasses our cocktails were served in were dirty. At this time, several people, with very young children, came in to the restaurant . These children were climbing all over the chairs, yelling, screaming, crying and were left unattended by their parents. There were two couples sitting next to us who had to move because the child was climbing all over the chairs they were sitting on. Neither the hostess, the bar tenders nor the waiters who walked passed several times said anything at all the to the people waiting for tables with the very unruly children. So while I completely understand that this restaurant is in the Kalahari Park, the price of the items on this menu are NYC type prices. I would expect that there is some level of adult only or somewhat quiet atmosphere that should go along with the cost of the place. We were disappointed with the atmosphere and dirty stemware and overall experience.
