Double Cut Charcoal Grill truly is a signature dining experience where every detail is considered to transform you from the stresses of business and life.
Transport into our contemporary steakhouse, featuring a menu with robust selections cooked over hot coals including steak, seafood, chops, chicken and vegetables.
The décor will be modern, but not pretentious. The ambiance, sophisticated and multisensory, yet comfortable. The staff, educated, but not showy. The uniforms unique, but classically tasteful. Welcome to Double Cut.
The menu departs from a classic steakhouse without chasing away traditionalists. Categories will range from classic steaks and chops to seafood – including lobster tail.
One quality many items share: the distinctive flavor imparted by Double Cut's charcoal grill.
Excellent experience with this establishment very impressed the service was amazing and very professional. Great food and very polite we will be back awesome location and definitely the best in the Poconos for steak nothing beats this place in this area.
We had a lovely time. Our server was fantastic, the live music was a nice touch, and the seafood tower was a fresh and filling.
Wasn’t real busy after making a reservation for 7:30pm. When we got there restaurant was dead. I could not understand why I couldn’t have made reservation for earlier. They said it was dead all night
Greeted as soon as we walked in and we were welcomed and offered to sit in the lounge and listen to the piano player or have a drink at the bar in the lounge while we waited for our table. Our wait was literally two minutes or less though and we were seated at a table in the main dinning room. Not too crowded but certainly not empty. Our servers were attentive and knowledgeable. The drinks and food were priced well and delicious! no complaints at all and two days later, I just finished the grilled seasonal vegetables that I brought home (the sides are definetly meant for sharing!!)
Not for kids. Slow food service, great quality food.
Beautiful bar dining. Friendly waitstaff. Piano player.
Everything was amazing food , decor and service. Can't wait to dine again here in the fall on our next trip.
The servers were way less than attentive for not being that busy. The food was excellent but very pricey. Family friendly but if I were to do it again I wouldn’t bring the kids bc if how long we had to wait to get drinks, boxes, refills, etc
Staying at resort with two teens. Meal was delicious and service great
The food was amazing. Our waiter was amazing. The only negative things I have to say about the restaurant is that we were double charged for our entire bill.... and we are still trying to resolve it. The poll only other thing is that for an $11 center salad that was huge but amazing. I shared with my husband they charged us a $10 share plate fee on an $11 salad and didn't tell us until we asked on the check. We could've just ordered a second salad and got the left overs to go.
Love this place! Top notch restaurants are sometimes hard to find in the Poconos. This was our third time eating here. We stayed at the Kalihari resort as well. Kudos to the owners!
Would recommend but would let them know the expense of the dinner. It is very prucy
The food as always was amazing. This place knows how to prepare meal. We went a but late so the wait time was a bit longer than we wanted, but the servers keep the drinks and bread flowing until your main course arrives
Usually we have a great dinner but service was very off. We waited a long tine for appetizers then our dinner arrived while we were still eating appetizers. We also waiting a long time for drinks and to be seated while the entire place was practically empty.
Despite being nestled in the Pocono woods, this place tries to be a big city dining experience, complete with big city prices. IMO, it comes up well short. Our table rocked several inches in each direction and our table setting was incomplete. Our two waiters, while very attentive, were both very young, not something you’d expect from a high end restaurant. The food was excellent, though my rib eye was tough around the edges. It was a nice meal, I just don’t think they earned the prices they are charging.
Side note, we stayed around for the “dueling pianos” that were advertised on the restaurant website, only to find out there is only one piano player. We inquired about this and learned that there is regularly only one piano player. This was disappointing. We felt misled.
The food was absolutely amazing and so was the service and ambiance! Can't wait to go back! We will be dreaming out this place for a while!
We had a large group with 7 kids. We were seated in a beautiful private room surrounded in wine bottles. It was an amazing experience with the food and service. The kids were even raving about the delicious food. We especially loved the tomahawk steak for 2 and the oysters.
We didn't have regular waiter, Marlon, however, Lauren was gracious waitress, attended to birthday wishes in such an elegant way, we loved it. Manager did not stop by table as per usual, just stared, but overall great experience.
The food and the service was Amazing. Would definitely go back again. Just 1 thing. It was my Birthday and a Birthday discount would be nice!! Thank you.
Very nice restaurant. Ambiance was nice and so were the wait staff. We will be going back for dinner next time we are at Kalahari
Overall experience was disappointing. To start, we really liked the appearance and atmosphere plus the hostesses were very nice. Service was slow (but that's usually OK for a nicer restaurant). We ordered a good number of appetizers and enjoyed them all. All of our sides were average at best, but the steaks were a true problem. Almost everyone ordered medium but most came out as everything but (from well-well done to rare). I ordered prime rib...got the rib eye. The rib eyes were WAY too fatty even for rib eyes, and while the filets looked good they were difficult to enjoy at the wrong temperature. Beverage service was almost non-existent, although we technically had three servers taking care of the table (problem was, two of the three were primarily "helpers" clearing plates, but our main server went absent for a long period of time). We were lucky to get a total of two drinks, and we had to work hard to get them! I would strongly recommend passing on a trip to Double Cut and consider making a reservation at neighboring Sortino's (which we'd give 5 stars out of 5).
It was great food, had a piano man playing which was great! Price was high. Would probably not go back. Service was excellent!!
It was good. The food was good. The steaks were a little over cooked. We enjoyed it, but it was a little pricy for what it was and how the food was cooked and presented. We probably would not eat there again if we went back.
We had a wonderful experience at Double Cut Grill! The staff was fantastic and the food was delicious. We had a private space that made our time there feel even more special. Our kids ate everything on their plate - highly recommend this restaurant on your next visit to Kalahari!
What a disappointment! We went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my family and were expecting a good quality food (based on their menu and high prices). Just to summarize:
Drinks were extremely good. Appetizers were good. The service was good and waiter was extremely nice and helpful.
Stakes were terrible: bad quality meat , very hard, instead of medium rare they made it rare, grill was not hot enough - so stakes were more like baked... just absolutely terrible!
Side dishes (mushrooms and spinach) were not freshly made, obviously were prepared before and just sat in the frig.
We were stupid enough to order Creme Brulee and coffee at the end of the dinner. Both were terrible again: Creme Brulee was taken from the frig: cold, the crust was cold and mushy because it stayed in the frig for a long time, Coffee tasted really bad - you will find the better coffee at the gas station.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the restaurant has two rooms: one is just all black color-walls, floor, tables and chairs - are all black color. No decoration, nothing. it looks like a prison, very depressing . Probably they just run out of money and did not have enough funding for interior decor. The second room is a little bigger, all black again, but has fireplace and a fake crystal chandelier.
Please do not go to this place, save your money! If you are in the area and really want to enjoy your meals go to Mount Airy Casino Resort, they have super good restaurant "Bistecca by IL Milano"- same price range , but the food is high quality. we went to this place 3-4 times already and enjoyed it very much.
Great Food and atmosphere.....
delicious Filet Mignon. Definitely would recommend. pricy but worth it.
Amazing service and the food is the best... but service service service THE BEST
Great food and service, nice ambiance with a welcoming staff and highly recommended!!
Food was great but our server was very disappointing. Assumed low priced items for us in a uncomfortable manner, left us unattended to the point did not mention dessert and we had to all stand to get the check sent to us.
Our server Gavin who was partnered with Addison treated me and my date with such a welcoming / refreshing way. Double Cut is and has always been my favorite restaurant not only for the amazing food, but for the level of quality service that I have never seen anywhere else.
Great service! Amazing ambiance. Great fine dining experience for a family and kids. Wish dinners included a side or salad for the price. That would make a huge difference in feeling like the price was a little high. Pricey but worth it for the experience with an 11, 8 and 5 year old.
Food was amazing
We were excited to celebrate my Birthday, and last night at the resort by savoring an Easter dinner at Double Cut. The entire family was extremely disappointed with the meal!! Everyone’s entree’s arrived cold, steaks were not the quality we expected, the lobster bisque was extremely salty, my asparagus wasn’t cooked at all, and the pasta in the lobster Mac n cheese was undercooked. Our waitress was extremely nice so I tipped her without hesitation. I’m also not a fan of complaining and sending food back, so we just ate what we could. My husband was so upset he actually left and went back to the room. However for the amount of money we spent, and our anticipation of dining at Double Cut, the experience was such a disappointment!
I would definitely recommend especially if you are staying at Kalahari Resort. Food was good (some items like the portobello cheesesteak sandwich with some other much smaller mushrooms were overpriced). My husband’s filet mignon was good and the server was very responsive when I alerted them to my son’s food allergies. It was a nice oasis in the literal zoo that is Kalahari water park.
Entrees and side dishes were good overall but the tomato and Caesar salads for the appetizers left much to be desired. They also asked to butterfly a medium well cooked filet which was the first I've been asked, and led to an overcooked filet. Due to the price, I would have expected better quality for the steak and why the average overall rating.
wonderful! The team sat our party in private room which added to our experience, and all were consistently friendly and patient with the kids. Everything we enjoyed from appetizers to coffee was outstanding!
We recently had our second visit to Double Cut Grill in the Poconos to celebrate our son's eighth birthday and it was just as great as the first time we ate there two years prior. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The a la carte side dish portions were very generous, they could have served four people. The perfect Espresso martinis and beautiful atmosphere made for a great evening. We will definitely be back!
The bone in ribeye was very disappointing for a steakhouse. It looked like a thin cut special from a local grocery store. The Cesar salad was also subpar.
Great atmosphere! Loved the lighting. We (wife and 3 little kids) ate dinner in a spacious booth. The bar area was really nice as I walked by if you are there for some adult social time. The food and cocktails were outstanding; the staff was very attentive and pleasant. If you go with the understanding that it is very expensive, you will enjoy.
