Ordered the $120 ribeye it was completely overcooked. Staff was very accommodating taking it back and off the bill, ordered the bone in ribeye instead and when that came out it was cooked correctly but was tough and tasteless. Quality of the meat definitely not worth the price
We attended for my daughter’s 23 birthday, everything was perfect from the decor to Kyle our waiter (best waiter ever) to the recommendations, and the food and beverages.
If you get the opportunity this is a must visit, our private dining room was just perfect.
Birthday! Although I put that in the reservations and nothing was acknowledged.
We stopped at Double Cut to celebrate two birthdays. We were greeted and invited into the bar by Bianca while our table was finalized. Inventive drinks menu and we were shortly seated before ordering at the bar.
Bruce our waiter was upfront and very engaging. Our table ordered the seafood platter which was in reality a tower. Very fresh for as far in coast as we were.
Steaks were well prepared and to temp. Sides were massive in product proportion. I have never found asparagus that was an inch in diameter.
For dessert we ordered a chocolate lava cake and also received an ice cream for our other birthday.
We would definitely return. Pricing seems to be on par with the tourist industry for the area so be aware this will be a splurge. However atmosphere and presentation is immaculate and is a treat. Highly suggest the smoked old fashion if you enjoy bourbon and unique drink experiences.
Our waiter checked on us maybe twice and seemed to have completely forgotten our food. I know it wasn’t that our order wasn’t ready yet as the three tables next to us who had a waiter with dreads kept receiving service. They were checked on, served and bagged up before our waiter realized as he came to check on us for the second time for the hour & a half we were seated that we hadn’t gotten our food. He even approached and asked us if everything was alright…..while we had no food. Yes. The table looks beautiful completely bare. I forgot to take a note of his name and when I went back for my receipt two seconds later it was gone. This is completely different from the experience we had last time we were here. Really disappointing.
The food was great and our server Kyle was awesome!
We were a party of 6 adults not staying at the hotel but looking for a nice place for dinner in the area. We were very pleased with our choice. The service, food, and drinks were great. We were also happy that it was not too loud or overrun with little children running around considering the location. Would definitely go back.
Impeccable service. Gorgeous ambiance. Delicious food.
Food was excellent and our waitress J was attentive and efficient. Good choices for vegetarians even at a steakhouse. Drinks were on point!!!!
We waited for over 25 minutes to receive our food, y husband lobster was over cooked. There was no seasoning on the vegetables...Overall very disappointed especially for the amount of money..
Awesome place to eat at Kalahari Resorts. Took the family for my birthday and I was not disappointed. Treated like a queen. Food was to die for! My number one spot whenever I visit!
Overall as expected. Given the fact that it is likely considered a fairly high end restaurant based on the prices one would expect good quality food. Came here as 2 adults and 5 children ages 9 to 13. Kids menu good and reasonably priced although the $9 kids burger was more of a slider and was dry and overcooked. 2 adults had bone in rib eye which was flavored well although needed a touch more salt which we added afterwards. Also no char on the outside which I'm used to at high end steak houses. The hanging bacon app was great as others have said. Ordered 2 orders for the 7 of us which was actually sort of too much. The calamari wasn't great as there was not that much of it. The lobster bisque was way too thin and not like a bisque at all and ended up being comped. For sides we got the loaded hash browns (must get) and the creamed corn which was terrible (I think they forgot to add salt) and the creamed spinach which was also terrible as there was no cream at all.. The desserts (lave cake and creme brulee) were huge and amazing. Overall bill for 7 of us including tip was $400. So Overall nice experience and like I said expectations were met but not exceeded mainly because some of the food was not at the level it could've been.
Everything was fantastic!
We got the porterhouse with asparagus and mushrooms. Would highly recommend these option as everything was delicious. I also ordered the smoked old fashioned and it was the best!
Waiter hardly checked on us. Said he would return with more bread for our table of 5 and never did. They forgot the loaded part of my baked potato. My sister in laws lobster was dry. Wasn’t impressed for the money we spent.
This is the best dining at Kalahari, especially if you are an adult. The portion sizes are generous. We enjoyed the tuna tartare, steaks, seasonal vegetable (peppers, asparagus, etc. grilled in large chunks), and complimentary bread. The hash brown side is huge, which we were warned about, so it is easily shared by several at the table. Our server was awesome, friendly, accommodating, and informative. The food did take a little bit longer to come out, aside from the appetizers, but that may have been due to wanting the steaks to be well done. Cocktails were delicious, Rosemary Lemon Drop Martini (rosemary barely detectable) and Espresso Martini. We also had a very large cappucino that I wish I could have had the next morning as well. Everyone was too full for dessert and opted for coffee and dessert cocktails. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. Because it's at a family resort, expect there to be families there. That doesn't bother us at all but might factor in to the equation for some other folks.
Steaks were well-cooked and nice cuts. Seafood was good as well.
Ok, good for a resort restaurant. Not close to being a NY steak house. Prime rib tuff, vegis undercooked slightly. Comparable prices, 250, 4A2C, 3drks.
The service was spot on, and the noise level was not noticeable, however for the price, I didn’t find great value in the food, it was a la carte, and everything was quite expensive, coupled with lack luster presentation. What I mean is the tomahawk steak tough great flavor, is not worth $120 in my mind.
Son’s 8th Birthday
Great atmosphere, good food, great service! Look forward to the next visit!
The food was delicious and the service and ambiance was wonderful. We had an adult dinner out and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Our meals were top notch. The tuna tartare was one of the best I've ever had. All of our steaks cooked to our liking and.juat delicious. Our server, Colby, made the experience that much more enjoyable. He was well-versed, professional, pleasant and went above and beyond!
The food was fantastic! The bread was fabulous! We had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection!
Very good food. Best steakhouse in the Poconos. Service is the best around.
Highly recommend!! Best steak and seafood in this area!!!
It was our first visit and we were celebrating a birthday. In our online reservation, I requested a table, rather than a booth and I selected the option of celebrating a birthday and stated whose birthday it was. We arrived at the restaurant, and immediately, the hostess asks if a booth in the bar area is okay and starts walking me that direction. I stated we prefer a table, booths are usually too tight for us, plus a challenge for us mobility wise. She insisted on showing me a booth and when that was not satisfactory for us, she then brought me to a table.
Our server was unaware that it was a birthday. He was personable but not overly attentive. Our water glasses were not refilled, the pepper mill was empty, no checkback on our meal. Our entrees were brought while spouse was still eating the appetizer salad.
The Hanging Bacon delicious, the Tomato Salad pesto dressing was missing something and had too much garlic. The tomahawk rib was great. The creamed spinach had to be returned, it was simply chopped spinach. When we returned it, they added some parmesan cheese to it and called it "creamed spinach." Disappointing. Dessert chocolate volcano cake was good but overcooked. The only volcano part was the chocolate syrup they poured over it. Coffee options were on the menu including Irish Coffee. When we ordered Irish coffee we were told they had no coffee, could they make it with cappuccino instead??? Odd.
While most of the food was good, the prices were too high for the area and for the type of service received. I doubt we will return.
The food was delicious and the setting was beautiful I can't wait to eat there again next month
Food good. Price and overall value poor. Forced into 20percent tip which gives the waiter no incentive to work for it. I believe a local family steak house would produce the same for less.
Nothing special in my opinion
My family and I loved dining here. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Our waiter Colby was superb!!!
Our waitress Keri was amazing. She gave our daughter ice cream and sang Happy Birthday to her. The food and atmosphere were awesome.
Great restaurant. Our waitress was amazing. Make sure you ask for Kristen with a K🙂
Our server kyle was excellent! Superb service..bone in rib eye is a must food to have every time going out dinner at double cut..
I will attempt to keep this as concise as I can. My experience here was not good. Specifically, the wait staff. After being seated & placing our order, both my girlfriend & myself waited for an hour to receive our food. Once our food arrived, not once did our waiter follow up with us. We basically went unassisted for the remainder of our visit. So much, that my girlfriend had to go and ask for our check as opposed to having it brought to us. Upon paying the check, it turns out that the gratuity was already factored into the bill, 20%! The service was certainly not worthy of ANY volunteer gratuity, let alone an automatic 20%! To their credit, the manager on duty refunded me back the gratuity after my girlfriend voiced her displeasure in the experience & I am appreciative of that. All told, we would much rather take our business elsewhere going forward.
I loved this place - everything we ordered was spectacular and the service was amazing.
Food was amazing, service was great! Will definitely be back
A bit spendy but such is life.
This was my 3rd time here , 1st was awesome, 2nd time was ok, 3rd time bad, steaks were tough, chewy , dry , cream of spinach cold , no flavor , the best part of the night was the bread. Came hungry , left starving.
