   Dorothy’s is consistently a great spot for cocktails and food. The service is outstanding. I love how the owners “invest” in the staff to empower and enrich them to be creative with cocktails and food.

   We had an amazing time at Dorothy’s for dinner last night! Our server, Shay, was so warm and personable. She truly set the tone for a very enjoyable evening. The cocktail menu was filled with interesting choices sure to suit any palate. I highly recommend keeping an open mind and allowing the knowledgeable staff to make suggestions. We weren’t planning on it, but ultimately decided to tour nearly the entire small and large plate menus. Our favorite dishes included the yellowtail hamachi, scallion pancakes and roasted oysters. My striped bass main course was perfect, and our children raved about the orange chicken and Szechuan noodles. Be sure to leave room for some of the best bread pudding you will find anywhere for dessert. We were thrilled to experience the quality of food and service we received last night. Don’t pass up the opportunity to visit this special little gem!

   I go to St Simons regularly for junior golf tournaments, and I've always wanted to go, but seems like there are never reservations available. I had no idea that it was an Asian restaurant. The name sounded American and so does oyster bar, so I didn't bother looking at the menu. The ramen was excellent! My friend had the half chicken, and unfortunately it was not cooked all the way in the middle, and I don't mean pink. At some point, she sliced into the meat and blood rolled out. They took it off the bill and discounted her ramen by half as well which was very nice of them. She also ended up with the ramen, which she loved. We had the One Night in Bangkok cocktail. It said that it had Thai Chili in the drink, but the spice was overpowering, and we love spicy. We tried the cabbage rolls which had some type of meat in them. They were just ok.... Beautiful restaurant. Beautifully decorated, nice ambiance for a date night. I'd probably try it again since the Uber driver said he's never heard anything bad about the place.

   Our 2nd visit. First time was stellar. This time the food, service and value just weren’t there. The manager however came to the rescue with apologies and some complimentary items. We’ll give it another chance.

    We loved Dorothy's. the menu was small which meant every dish we had was outstanding. We started with a raw oyster selection, had the grilled Caesar and ended with the Tuna crudo. the wine selection was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our server was delightful, helpful, and attentive, the décor and ambiance was lovely.

    The menu is very limited. We love the Asian touch and it would be nice to have a few more choices especially of the small plates. The server was very attentive and the food came at a good pace.

    Good food, really small portions, expensive for venue. Service was ok, food was tasty, but left hungry after spending $150 for 2 people (wife had a cocktail which was smallest glass I’ve ever seen). Many better places on SSI that deliver better service, food, prices.

    Food was amazing, service was fantastic. However, we were asked to leave our table as soon as finished eating by the bar tender. Very rude! Our party of 4 spent over $300 for dinner and he acted like we were at Chilli’s rushing to flip the table. Not at all appropriate for this establishment. In all my years of business and personal dining , I have never ever been ask to vacate a table. Shame too. Ruined an otherwise perfect experience.

    When I reserved I noted that one of us three ladies was having a birthday. That was never acknowledged. It’s a beautiful restaurant but for lunch it was dark and unwelcoming. There were very few people dining. The waitress was inattentive My hamburger had huge chunks of coarsest cut cabbage in it, hanging out of the buns. When I tried to cut the burger in half it collapsed into dry pieces of toast. It had been over toasted, burnt actually. The French fries were soggy. My friends meals, shrimp roll, kale salad were “OK”. The waitress was AWOL when we needed water refill or dishes removed so we could open birthday presents. Three lunches with three cocktails was $94 before tip.

    The food is excellent but the lackadaisical, inattentive service is distracting. The last 2 times we dined, it was a 2.5 hour experience — for a meal consisting of drinks, oysters, some appetizers, and a main dish. Part of our table last night received drinks, but 4 waited 15 minutes or more — until we finally asked our server to find out what was happening. Please please invest in some training of your young staff. Or hire some veterans.

    Hostess was very unkept looking, unfriendly and borderline rude. The waitress’s hair was greasy and dirty. Both were not good representatives for the restaurant. Martini was half the size of a regular martini. The restaurant did not even have the two standard gins for a martini. The service was poor. Dinner plates for four people came out at three different intervals and was not served close to the same time. Not one of the four thought the food was even mediocrely good. Extremely overpriced for what was presented. The shrimp toast was not eatable. Inadequate menu choices.

    Dorothy’s was absolutely amazing! This is just what SSI needed. The decor is breathtaking. It’s clear that the owners either hired a restaurant designer or they know that they are doing the food and drinks were outstanding and the service was so well orchestrated. This is a perfect date night spot or a night out with friends. We took our 14 year old but he’s an old soul and a foodie. He loved it! The scallion pancakes are delicious, but the Bo Ssam, roasted brussel sprouts and fried rice were perfect. The roasted oysters were the only thing that we didn’t enjoy, as they lacked flavor, which is strange because everything else was packed with flavor. We will definitely go back during our next trip to SSI!

    Finally back on the island and our first stop had to be Dorothys!! Fabulous evening! We love the Raw Bar menu- the Hamachi Crudo with Kumquat Butter and citrus is a must, the tuna tartare was divine and the Salmon Aguachile is always a favorite. Our cocktails were fantastic- Keemala Bungalow and Monkey Business are our favorites- sharing the Bo Sam was fun- We loved their new Bread Pudding with homemade ice cream- all in all a wonderful experience and great service!

    One of us asked for coffee and you didn’t have any. She asked for hot tea and was told you didn’t have that either. We suggested that she microwave a cup of the iced tea to solve the request for Hot Tea, which she did. The restaurant was very cool inside so a request for coffee or hot tea was an attempt to feel warmer!

    We never got to see our dinner tab??!! We were told how much it was by waiter; ok gave cash he said do u want an change ??!!! Very tacky!!! They serve no coffee; and there was something else u would except a restaurant to have… one of the other guest attempted to order… anyway I ordered same thing I ordered last time… not as good !! Caesar salad WAY to much pepper couldn’t eat. Oh well
