We had to wait 15 minutes for our reserved table for 6 people. The food was excellent and the service was great. Little noisy, but not bad. Good ambience, lovely interior. Very small but not crowded. Would highly recommend.
Our new favorite!
Food and service were very good. Noise level is off the chart. And seating is at a minimum so you are right on top of the next table. Pricey for the ambiance. You’d better be able to read lips.
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Healthy
We had a great time visiting together, a long time coming. My only real criticism is that the server did not point out that a gratuity had already been added to our bills. Not that it wasn’t our responsibility, but when a 20% tip is added at the end of an evening, and a gratuity has already been calculated in, for the server not to confirm that is the intention is very discerning. I will think twice before I visit again knowing the servers are apt to take advantage of the patrons.
Dinner was delicious and service was great! Highly recommend.
Everything was perfect as usual. All our meals were interesting and perfectly cooked. Nice timing between plates and didn’t feel rushed. Service was great.
The service was welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere is fresh, clean and modern while still feeling very inviting. The open kitchen is cool and the selection of starters and larger plates offer a great variety of inventive dishes. I actually had two starters - the burrata followed by the yellowtail carpaccio starter as my entree. It was all delicious. My dining partner had the burrata also (so good we both had it!) and the veal entree which was thicker than most veal dishes are but perfectly cooked and well presented. We will definitely go back!
We loved the food and service. When we made reservations, they asked the occasion and we told them it was our anniversary, our 50th. It would have been nice to have received a glass of champagne or small dessert as most restaurants do. Otherwise, they don't really need to ask. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.
Every bite was a treat! We wanted to slow down and make the experience last longer. From the scallop appetizer to the duck and redfish entrees, everything was presented beautifully and tasted even better. Thank you!
We have found Doro to be our go to restaurant. The owner, Chris, has some great dishes that we enjoy over and over. Wait staff couldn’t be nicer but we like the cozy feel just as much. The best.
This was our second visit to Doro ... and it was equally wonderful second time around. The food is fresh, creatively prepared and delicious. We’ve been so satisfied with our salads, wine and entrees that we felt no need for desert...but do hope to try some at some point! It takes about 25 min to get there but it’s worth the drive!
A little disappointed based on this visit. The menu is definitely limited and the scallops dish was warm but not hot. However, it wasn't worth sending the meal back to the kitchen despite being warranted. The fresh green salad was tasty enough. My date was not impressed at all with her meal, prompting her to declare not intending to visit again.
Me and my daughter we were on vacation and we live outside one of the best foodie cities...DC. We loved this chef! Charred octopus and sea scallops crudo was out of this world as was the duck! Ribeye was good but cooked medium instead of medium rare but meat was a great piece! Thanks...please open a restaurant in our neck of the woods!
Amazing! Food, service, everything!! It's a must for a daste night.
Outstanding food. Courteous service. Great wine list. Highly recommend for foodies.
I visited upon recommendation from a patron of Chef Chris. Nice variety in the menu. Timing of service was fine. Intimate setting and nice decor. Clean kitchen can be viewed from dining room. Glad I visited.
Doro is incredible. The flavors are always so unique... an explosion so awesome it’s hard to describe. Simply the absolute very best food around.
We went for dinner and it was pretty good. There was a big party so the noise level was super loud, like hard to hear. The food was pretty good. My mom had the fish and the olive taste was so over powering that she could barely eat it. Server was ok. Overall it was a good experience but not the best. Will try it again but with so many other choices might not be on the top of the list.
I love having this fabulous restaurant in my neighborhood. The food is amazing! I'd like to dim the lights for better ambience but overall it's a beautiful place.
Third visit to Doro. The food and service is always quite good. The only issue (and I wasn't surprised because of my first two visits) was the noise level. The place is small thus diners are in very close proximity to one-another, so that becomes a problem if you have a boisterous group or a loudmouth nearby (I did). Add to that another two couples who brought their two 5 year-old children (why?) who then started the typical kid screams and noises....and your conversation with your date becomes impossible. It's annoying and there's not much Doro can do about it, but be forewarned if you're looking for quiet.
But again, the interesting food is worth the trip, especially if you're lucky enough to catch it on a quiet night!
The chef goes out of his way to source really good ingredients from the area- my fish in particular was excellent. Even the salad greens are a cut above.
The ambiance, the front-of-the-house staff, as well as the kitchen and the Executive Chef always make each visit enjoyable and memorable...I brought along guests who will also be returning too!
Menu options were creative and wait staff thoroughly knowledgeable and pleased to help with selections. Food was amazing. Whole experience was delightful.
Without a doubt the best food in the region. Chef knows his way around fish and duck (our choices) and hit the right balance between acid, sweet and savory. Really good, thoughtful food. Small menu allows them to excel.
I have been to Doro a few times now, each time has been fresh fantastic food. He has creative dishes with such wonderful flavors! Truly a treat from every other restaurant in that area. I highly recommend this restaurant!!
Start to finish perfection! Food and service was outstanding!
Always enjoyable and especially so for Valentine's Day!
We went to DORO for Valentine’s Day. Everything from the ambiance to the exquisite food to the impressive staff made our dining experience one of the best in Northeast Florida. My husband and I go out to eat frequently and I admit, being from New York City, I am a terrible food snob and this restaurant put me in my place. Chris (the owner/chef) deserves a round of applause. I highly recommend DORO to anyone who appreciates great food and a very pleasant dining experience.
Excellent food prepared with care and attention. Sit at the Chef's bar if you have the chance.
DELICIOUS!! First time visitor. Great location, food and service was awesome.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful Valentine's dinner at Doro. Our server Nicole was attentive and friendly during a busy holiday evening. The food came out of the kitchen promptly and was delicious, especially the tomato bread soup. My husband and I both had the swordfish special and the fish was cooked perfectly. One of the best meals we've had. Plan on going back soon. If i had one complaint it would be that the music was a little to loud.
This could be one of my "go to" spots for fine, casual dining. Food is great, fresh & unique. Portion sizes are excellent, not over sized. Love amuse-bouche that starts the meal. Only complaint is noise.. turning down music will help.
The ladies room lock leaves one feeling a bit vulnerable, especially since there is no hallway between the dining room and restrooms. Noise level is a bit high. Food was excellent and served very quickly. Took a little time to get ordered, but our server was wonderful. Love this gem of a restaurant!
My wife and I have been to Doro’s five times and it gets better every time... very talented chef and amazing food... my all-time favorite restaurant
Great per usual.
I love the flavor of the steak. Nice quaint place by the beach .
2nd time here. It was just as great as the 1st time. The food touches all the senses. I find Doro to be one of the best restaurants not just at the Beaches but in the Jacksonville area. Service is on point. Doro is truly a gem.
