   Unfortunately myself and wife's main meal arrived at the table Cold. Lamb and Vension meals looked nice but we're cold. As though they had been cooked and left a while before being served. After making the staff aware and requesting the food to be reheated. It appeared the meals were recooked but again one was only luke warm and the other hot in part . Potatoes and Venison were hot but rest again cold. I ate the hot elements of the meal but after two attempts to serve her a hot meal my wife decided to decline the meal. A disappointment and totally spoilt our evening. We declined deserts and left.

   The food selection was varied and perfectly cooked, offering much choice to each diner. The specials were many and covered all courses. We went for the sharing charcuterie platter, followed by the venison haunch and then a glorious sticky toffee pudding and raspberry pannacotta to finish. Each dish was perfectly cooked with attentive but unobtrusive service. Highly recommended.

   Stayed at the Dornoch Castle hotel one night (husband playing golf in the AM). Lovely restaurant/bar attached to hotel. The pizza was delicious and just what we needed after a long travel day. Service was great too! Had a pint and a dram of their whiskey before heading to bed early. Wish we had more time to spend here!

   Staff were very attentive without being in your face all the time. Even helped us with a candle and sung happy birthday to our daughter. The burger was amazing but certainly had food envy when saw the pizzas! We had a table in the restaurant area which was nice and quiet but I'm sure the bar area would be a bit more lively.

   The hotel is very unusual and special. We were warmly met. Special requests dealt with very well. We had a lovely meal and were generally looked after in a professional and friendly manner. Jeani

   We enjoyed a lovely meal at the dornoch castle Hotel restaurant. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the whisky. Would definitely recommend.

    Very small restaurant and castle, but the service was impeccable. Everyone in this town was so friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to make our stay memorable, and it certainly was! We had a great night in Dornoch and our stay was magical! Get the old courtroom if you really want to experience this castle hotel!
