We ate Saturday Brunch and were the only people in the restaurant . Concerning since it is only been open two months. They were missing two items on an already abbreviated menu. With that being said, the food was great and the service was exceptional, but hard not to be when your the only customers.
Very poor service, not up to par with nice restaurants in the area. Server could barely cork the bottle of wine and clearly did not know how to serve wine and taste. The service was pressured. I felt pressured to order meal before wine even came. Dishes were taken away while food was still on the plate or when last bite was just put into your mouth. The check was given just after dessert was served.
Overpowering artificial smoke flavor was on appetizer amd dessert. I will never return again. DON’T BOTHER trying this place. It was not very busy, so that cannot be an excuse. Mediocre food amd terrible service. Ambiance would have been nice amd quaint were it not for three tvs making it seem like a sports bar.
We were so impressed with Dorian. The ambience, service, and food were all superb. I would definitely go again.
Place was nearly empty for a Sat. night at 7:45. Needless to say we got very attentive service all night long. Food orders came out quickly when placed and everything was great quality. Tried two of the bruschetta boards (Olive Tapenade & Salted Pear). Both were excellent with just the right crunch to softness, and very tasty bread. Four good sized pieces of each which was a good serving size (more than I've had at other places). Main dishes were Sweet & Spicy Burger and Brown Butter & Steak Sirloin. Also got a side of Brussels Sprouts. Everything was very tasty, well cooked steak and burger. Lastly tried the Roasted Pineapple dessert. It was good, but not great. Would have loved the pastry in was on top of to be more like baklava quality with some filling, rather that just the pastry. Ice cream on it was the best part. Overall very good, would eat here again.
I hate it when I have such an amazing experience and then I feel a deep responsibility to review them. The reason being, once the rest of Scottsdale knows about Dorian’s, it will certainly be impossible to get a reservation without notice.
We love discovering new and my daughter found Dorian s. The decor is sleek, elegant yet has a sense of fun and a European funky vibe. The aqua crush velvet booths and the royal blue upholstery accent pieces against the lightness of the creamy walls, sofa frame and marble tables played beautifully beneath the nearly gothic crystal chandeliers. A feast for the eyes before we even order a thing. Did I mention the magnificent angel statue that watches over the bar?
Then we ordered. We started with the best salad I have ever had, baked avocado and grapefruit salad over a bed of arugula. It was simple yet so flavorful, and the thing I have issue with-it was perfectly dressed!!! Take a page from Dorian’s restaurants. Do not drown your creations with dressing. My daughter had the beet salad with soy glazed walnuts and again, perfection! I had the salmon that sat on a bed of puréed squash and brussels sprouts. The salmon was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, cooked to perfection! My daughter had the bistro steak sliced served with gratin potatoes and fresh asparagus. Both dishes were so exceptional, there was no sharing. We cleaned our plates and left no room for the blueberry cheesecake in a jar. Next time. We shared a bottle of Rose, they only had one on the menu but that was all that was necessary. The service was excellent and I appreciate all the attention to details that makes Dorian’s a force in the dining industry to be reckoned with! We recommend you go now before you are waiting two weeks or longer for a reservation.
A quiet spot with good food and attentive service. The wine list needs to expand.
We were looking for a quiet restaurant to enjoy a relaxing meal. The ambiance was very elegant without overbearing; the service was excellent, our cocktails were unique and tasty; and the food was delicious. We will definitely return to Dorian when back in PHX.
Thought we’d never find it but once we got there we loved it!
We loved the ambiance at Dorian. The decor is beautifully done and the menu has some great options. We had the salmon and steak and both were delicious. I have been back again and loved the new bruschetta's and boards. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great new restaurant in Scottsdale.
Food was very good and creative. Reasonably priced. Staff was very accommodating.
I would have liked to give this place a fabulous review. My hopes were high based on the previous reviews. The restaurant has a wonderful fun atmosphere. The music was a bit loud, but gave the restaurant a fun feel. The server was prompt, polite and friendly. We ordered appetizers and dinner together. We were quite disappointed when our main dish was served minutes before our appetizers. Our main dish course was served barely warm although the appetizers were served hot. We had the Smoked Mushrooms and the Mini Ravioli. Both were served hot and very good. Our main dishes were served almost cold, I had the Salmon which was barely warm and my sides were cold. My husband had the tenderloin which was barely warm also. Overall, I think there must have been some kitchen issues. We noticed the same thing was happening at the tables around us. I believe we will go back to try again since I know the restaurant is new.
Excellent dinner, atmosphere is super swanky and fun. Our server was fantastic! Wine selection was on point.
Staff was a little overwhelmed Apparently they opened too soon
Nothing particularly wrong with this restaurant/bar, but nothing really great or outstanding either. Service was attentive. Menu limited. Desserts very limited and not anything chocolate. A very average place. Music was almost offensive to a dining experience.
The decorations and vibe of the restaurant is cool. Good selection of vegetarian friendly dishes served by great staff.
My son and wife and I went on a Tuesday evening and it wasn’t too busy but that’s to be expected. It is Tucked away off of Scottsdale road but we had a fabulous time. The restaurant has a very cool feel to it and Angel our server could not have been better. She had a very comforting and sweet presence about her that we would almost go back just for the service! But the food was fabulous (the crispy salmon was great) and I would definitely go back to cocktails were a homerun as well !!
Excellent meal at this new spot. Don’t miss the mini ravioli.
