Great new hidden gem in old town
The restaurant is impeccably decorated. The service was excellent. The staff bent over backward to accommodate our dietary needs. The food was delicious. Dorian is now on our top 3 list of best brunch places. Sorry Eggery....you've been bumped.
We went to Dorian for Arizona Restaurants Week. The $44 menu was average - disappointing that entrees did not include any side dish. The chocolate and blonde brownie was overcooked / crispy, and did not seem to have a blonde brownie piece. Our server was good. But we were really surprised when our entrees were brought to our table (by someone else) while we were maybe halfway finished with appetizers. The unacceptable explanation was that the kitchen was trying to get going on a 16-person party that ordered just after us.
Design and ambiance of the restaurant was nice! Service was good in terms of greeting and seating us. Timing was poorly executed and it was random when our server would check on us. There was a wait for our food, which we expected being in party of 6 and it being restaurant week. The wait for dessert was ridiculously long. When it came the icecream was already pretty melted and we had to ask and wait awhile for eating utensils. We had to hunt someone down to get our bill and it took forever for our bill. It took 2.5 hours in all.
O boy, I so wanted this to be a good experience.
We waited forever to be served. Our server was very pleasant and apologized several times for the delay in sending out food etc.
The food is just OK. Fixed menu for Arizona Restaurant week. Nothing special about the food her.
But the service was awful. Dinner took forever to bring out.
- they were out of calamari, then they had calamari.
We won't be back. Avoid.
Ate dinner with a group of 12. Took 2 hours to get our food and it came out at completely different times.
The restaurant didnt seem prepared for restaurant week. Staff wasnt familiar with drink menu. Special menu for restaurant week had chicken but when asked about how it was prepared they said they werent sure because they dont have it on their main menu. Our appetizer took over 30 minutes and the main course came out within 5 min of the appetizer. Desserts were really good. Nice unique drink flavors.
We loved our time at the Dorian. The food was fantastic- staff was personable and so kind. After our dinner, we were shown the “secret entrance” to the bar next door. We had so much fun eating here- would definitely recommend for groups of any size!
It was a wonderful birthday dinner! Everything was exceptional. I was only sad because the server promised me a glass of champagne for my birthday, and they never game me one.
We were so happy with our service and food. Kevin came to check on us many times and we appreciated it! We will be back.
Among the best steaks and best salads we have ever had even though we have traveled and dined within and oustisde the U.S. for many years.
Beyond that, the personal service and ambiance was phenomenal. Particular Kudos go to the manager who extended himself to ensur ethat we had a great experience with a personal touch that evidences his true professionalism and commitment to excellence.
We would and will absolutely recommend Dorain to anyone and everyone. They will not be disappointed.
Really nice looking restaurant. Went for brunch. It was about 50% full. Seemed about one staff member low, but they mentioned they get a light brunch crowd normally, so that may be a reason. Food was tasty and good value for the price and location. Will definitely consider going again!
Husbands birthday, was quick to accommodate our party of 12 and it was a beautiful!!!
Good food. Pretty Ambiance
The service was extremely lacking and it’s too bad because the place is cute!. We placed an appetizer order and soon thereafter someone took our menus before we placed our dinner order. Because of that and the fact that we sat for a bit with empty wine glasses, we called it a night.
The food was late. The service was slow. The A/C was just flowing the whole night ans the noise was off the tops loud! Never again
This was our first visit to Dorian. We read good things in the reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Service was very good, but we were a little disappointed for several reasons. First, the avocado toast we ordered was described with a poached egg. We were served fried eggs. The Dorian Bloody Mary was listed on the menu at $8; we were charged $10. Small details, however details are the difference between good and great. Gives me pause to go back for a second time.
Beautiful restaurant and great food. Servers Kevin and Kaitlyn were exceptional and made us feel like regulars. We will definitely be back.
Decor appropriate to Dorian Grey theme, sat in a cozy booth with a peaceful ambiance for a lovely dinner. Our server was attentive and made our experience personal. Food was exceptional - For appetizers we had the fig and margherita bruschetta and calamari. Calamari was a little fishy, otherwise fried perfectly. For dinner our party enjoyed salmon, filet, and nicoise salad. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten - be sure to get it with mashed potatoes. After dinner we sat in the cozy seating area to finish our wine and continue great conversation. I don't understand why this place isn't busier!!! A++
It was amazing! Servers were super nice and they were very accommodating in our needs. Would definitely go back again!
We dined at the Dorian on a particularly quiet evening. The overall experience was good. We found the modern, tastefully flashy decor (including light blue velvet booths, lots of crystal and oversized mirrors) to be fun, with hints of Las Vegas' Cosmopolitan Hotel. The service was attentive and friendly. And our food was nicely prepared and presented. The charcuterie appetizer was great for sharing. Although we found the hummus to be too garlicky for our tastes. Our entrees included the salmon, pork loin and filet - all of which were done just right. I would recommend the Dorian for a nice evening out as a couple or with friends.
Super cute space. Great service by our waitress. Food was extremely disappointing.
First visit to Dorian and we had a great experience. EXCELLENT food, great service and atmosphere. Thanks to Arizona Restaurant Week or we would never have discovered this hidden gem.
Took almost 2 hours for our entree to be served, and many of the dishes were undercooked. We were a large party, but the restaurant was nowhere near full. Beautiful space, but unfortunately the service and food were not great.
The atmosphere was wonderful small and intimate. The food and services was great would definitely
go to Dorian again.
We went for MOTHERS DAY BRUNCH. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was fantastic and a great value for Old Town Scottsdale. Wonderful job all!
Very cool atmosphere. They had a Sunday Brunch since it was Mothers day, food was outstanding. Seating was comfortable and staff was very friendly and helpful.
Love this place! A completely overlooked gem in Scottadale. Great staff, food and atmosphere. accommodating chef!
We had great food and service. Our entire group had a great time.
I could not believe the food that was provided for the $55 Easter Brunch. I made a reservation to take my family to brunch and thought that a boutique style atmosphere would be fun. Not so much! They had buffet only and there was hardly any food left when we arrived for our reservation and what was left had been sitting out since the morning. The ham was dry and curled up, the scrambled eggs that were left were around the outside of the pan and they were all crusty, no gravy for the mashed potatoes, the so called salad was mixed greens with no veggies. It was absolutely the worst brunch I have ever experienced. The hostess greeted us and asked if we had reservations, we said yes. He didn't ask our name he just said okay how about a booth. We said sure, we started following him and then he disappeared behind the bar and so we scattered to find our own booth. The restaurant itself was decorated very cute. I don't see this place staying open for long.
Not good !!
Outstanding Easter brunch! Food quality and service were superior. Not inexpensive, but not priced badly for Easter.
It's strange to arrive at a restaurant and be the only guests. But, the food was really good. The staff was glad to see paying customers but not quite sure how to make us feel comfortable. Eventually other guests arrived and the staff was more relaxed.
Hidden gem in Old Town. Great ambience and food was very good. Service was top notch and I’d recommend checking this spot out. I’m surprised that more people don’t know about it!
Wonderful dining experience. This has become one of our favorite places.
Dorian is a hidden gem. The decor is charming and hip. We had a leisurely dinner which we wanted and service was great. The food was excellent. We had calamari which was very tender, the chicken and burgers. All very good. The carrot cake was to die for.
Service was amazing. Very quiet, sleepy place. Price was fine. Needs more menu options. Lovely little place. Its new and needs a little pep.
One of the best hidden gems we have found since we have arrived in Scottsdale.
We had the special Valentines Day menu. Each course was excellent, and the choices were sufficiently varied. The servers were helpful, too.
