Wonderful dining experience. This has become one of our favorite places.
Dorian is a hidden gem. The decor is charming and hip. We had a leisurely dinner which we wanted and service was great. The food was excellent. We had calamari which was very tender, the chicken and burgers. All very good. The carrot cake was to die for.
Service was amazing. Very quiet, sleepy place. Price was fine. Needs more menu options. Lovely little place. Its new and needs a little pep.
One of the best hidden gems we have found since we have arrived in Scottsdale.
We had the special Valentines Day menu. Each course was excellent, and the choices were sufficiently varied. The servers were helpful, too.
Came in for an early valentines day dinner. Great music playing when we got in and we were seated where we really wanted to sit right away. Food was AMAZING !!! Cocktails were PHENOMENAL !!!
We will definitely be back again !!
New Years - restaurant was about 1/3 to 3/4’s full and they were very understaffed. Saw multiple people complaining, just felt weird overall
Very cute place and excellent food. My friends and I however were the only ones there. It was dead. No coffee or iced tea available at brunch. Only one person working and he had to bartend and wasn’t sure how to make drinks. I don’t see this place staying in business for long. Sad cause it looks like a lot of money went into this place.
I went with a party of five and we were very pleased with the food and the ambiance. This was a last-minute choice for us, but the food was amazing, and the plates were bare when they went back to the kitchen. We would definitely return.
The service was slow and the server was not friendly or knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is relatively limited. There were no daily specials, the bar was limited. One member of our party likes flavored vodka of which they had none.
The food was excellent! The prices were on the higher end.
Good food but probably won’t go back.
The Dorian staff was great to welcome our party and accommodate our needs. Our waitress seemed a bit nervous and was a bit slow taking orders, coming to our table and she charged my wine more than was listed on the menu. However, the food was delicious and the ambiance was great!
What a very pleasant surprise. Beautifully decorated. We had breakfast and enjoyed the selections. Easy to get to in Old Town. They are in process of developing a new dinner menu. Can't wait to go back.
It looked closed. As we entered there was only 1 person behind the bar. No lights were on inside and it was freezing. We had to ASK that the lights be turned on. The burger I had tasted burned. However the chilaquiles were tasty. Other than my friends and I not a single other person was there and there was no heat. The music was turned on maybe 10 minutes after we sat and again we had to ASK that the lights be turned on. For advertising a welcoming brunch special or a special place to brunch it was very unwelcoming.
Reserved a table for four to celebrate two birthdays of dear friends. When we showed up, the restaurant was closed. We had to scramble to find another place to celebrate. We were beyond disappointed.
We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. The mimosas where awesome and all of the food we ordered was delicious. I will definitely come back again.
Very gracious & friendly! Loved the interiors & the food.
Went for AZ Restaurant Week. Cocktails and service were great. The decor and overall look/feel to the restaurant was fantastic but the food was not very good. The appetizers were fine, main courses were bland and overall not very tasty, and the dessert was actually really bad. Stale cake and peaches that we're crunchy. I would go back just for cocktails but wouldn't have another meal here.
Restaurant week offerings were very good. Overall menu a bit limited. Pretty place.
First time and we love it. We went for restaurant week based on the 3 course menu. The food was very good. The decor is really nice and creative based on Dorian Gray. Staff was attentive. We will definitely go back soon.
Atmosphere, service, food, interior design was absolutely perfect! Definitely coming back here again!
Great atmosphere, good drinks. Food was not good at all. They need to get a chef in here that knows how to produce quality food, if they do that then I can see this place being successful. They also need to dim the lights at dinner for better ambiance. Place was dead while we were there which was nice.
Ordered the short rib and it came out as a plate of au jus over flowing vs a creamy sauce ... could be much better.
All over it was just OK. Room for improvement.
Poor, slow service from drinks to the food. Waiters kept changing. Mediocre food, plus Missing ingredients from salad. Mostly empty.
This was our first time at Dorian. We wanted a good breakfast, and ended up finding this gem to be much more than we expected. We will be returning in a hurry, this is one of my new favorite places.
Loved the Dorian! The decor inside, the menu, the service, and the food was all just amazing! Definitely will go back! Went for breakfast and can't wait to try dinner next time! Thank you!!! Adrian - you Rock! Best server and bartender :)
We ate Saturday Brunch and were the only people in the restaurant . Concerning since it is only been open two months. They were missing two items on an already abbreviated menu. With that being said, the food was great and the service was exceptional, but hard not to be when your the only customers.
Very poor service, not up to par with nice restaurants in the area. Server could barely cork the bottle of wine and clearly did not know how to serve wine and taste. The service was pressured. I felt pressured to order meal before wine even came. Dishes were taken away while food was still on the plate or when last bite was just put into your mouth. The check was given just after dessert was served.
Overpowering artificial smoke flavor was on appetizer amd dessert. I will never return again. DON’T BOTHER trying this place. It was not very busy, so that cannot be an excuse. Mediocre food amd terrible service. Ambiance would have been nice amd quaint were it not for three tvs making it seem like a sports bar.
We were so impressed with Dorian. The ambience, service, and food were all superb. I would definitely go again.
Place was nearly empty for a Sat. night at 7:45. Needless to say we got very attentive service all night long. Food orders came out quickly when placed and everything was great quality. Tried two of the bruschetta boards (Olive Tapenade & Salted Pear). Both were excellent with just the right crunch to softness, and very tasty bread. Four good sized pieces of each which was a good serving size (more than I've had at other places). Main dishes were Sweet & Spicy Burger and Brown Butter & Steak Sirloin. Also got a side of Brussels Sprouts. Everything was very tasty, well cooked steak and burger. Lastly tried the Roasted Pineapple dessert. It was good, but not great. Would have loved the pastry in was on top of to be more like baklava quality with some filling, rather that just the pastry. Ice cream on it was the best part. Overall very good, would eat here again.
I hate it when I have such an amazing experience and then I feel a deep responsibility to review them. The reason being, once the rest of Scottsdale knows about Dorian’s, it will certainly be impossible to get a reservation without notice.
We love discovering new and my daughter found Dorian s. The decor is sleek, elegant yet has a sense of fun and a European funky vibe. The aqua crush velvet booths and the royal blue upholstery accent pieces against the lightness of the creamy walls, sofa frame and marble tables played beautifully beneath the nearly gothic crystal chandeliers. A feast for the eyes before we even order a thing. Did I mention the magnificent angel statue that watches over the bar?
Then we ordered. We started with the best salad I have ever had, baked avocado and grapefruit salad over a bed of arugula. It was simple yet so flavorful, and the thing I have issue with-it was perfectly dressed!!! Take a page from Dorian’s restaurants. Do not drown your creations with dressing. My daughter had the beet salad with soy glazed walnuts and again, perfection! I had the salmon that sat on a bed of puréed squash and brussels sprouts. The salmon was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, cooked to perfection! My daughter had the bistro steak sliced served with gratin potatoes and fresh asparagus. Both dishes were so exceptional, there was no sharing. We cleaned our plates and left no room for the blueberry cheesecake in a jar. Next time. We shared a bottle of Rose, they only had one on the menu but that was all that was necessary. The service was excellent and I appreciate all the attention to details that makes Dorian’s a force in the dining industry to be reckoned with! We recommend you go now before you are waiting two weeks or longer for a reservation.
A quiet spot with good food and attentive service. The wine list needs to expand.
We were looking for a quiet restaurant to enjoy a relaxing meal. The ambiance was very elegant without overbearing; the service was excellent, our cocktails were unique and tasty; and the food was delicious. We will definitely return to Dorian when back in PHX.
Thought we’d never find it but once we got there we loved it!
We loved the ambiance at Dorian. The decor is beautifully done and the menu has some great options. We had the salmon and steak and both were delicious. I have been back again and loved the new bruschetta's and boards. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great new restaurant in Scottsdale.
Food was very good and creative. Reasonably priced. Staff was very accommodating.
I would have liked to give this place a fabulous review. My hopes were high based on the previous reviews. The restaurant has a wonderful fun atmosphere. The music was a bit loud, but gave the restaurant a fun feel. The server was prompt, polite and friendly. We ordered appetizers and dinner together. We were quite disappointed when our main dish was served minutes before our appetizers. Our main dish course was served barely warm although the appetizers were served hot. We had the Smoked Mushrooms and the Mini Ravioli. Both were served hot and very good. Our main dishes were served almost cold, I had the Salmon which was barely warm and my sides were cold. My husband had the tenderloin which was barely warm also. Overall, I think there must have been some kitchen issues. We noticed the same thing was happening at the tables around us. I believe we will go back to try again since I know the restaurant is new.
Excellent dinner, atmosphere is super swanky and fun. Our server was fantastic! Wine selection was on point.
Staff was a little overwhelmed Apparently they opened too soon
Nothing particularly wrong with this restaurant/bar, but nothing really great or outstanding either. Service was attentive. Menu limited. Desserts very limited and not anything chocolate. A very average place. Music was almost offensive to a dining experience.
The decorations and vibe of the restaurant is cool. Good selection of vegetarian friendly dishes served by great staff.
