Fantastic pre-opera dinner at Doppio Zero. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Thanks so much for a lovely evening!
Great place with nice outdoor seating. Even though the weather is getting colder, the heat lamps kept us nice and warm. I loved my pasta with oxtail--perfect fall dish. And the panna cotta with berries was delicious! A really nice place to go in Hayes Valley--it feels vibrant and fun and the service was awesome.
We went to Doppio Zero for the first time during restaurant week and sampled both their special offering for the week and a main course (salmon). Good example of classic Italian cooking. The pasta duo had good sauces and adequate portions. Salmon was well prepared; broccolini was tough, however. It was al dente such that the regular knife had difficulty cutting it, but tasty. Salad (pera) was nicely dressed. Service was attentive; we had 1 pm lunch on a Monday; not at all crowded; cannot comment about a busier time. We would certainly come again when in the neighborhood. Prices are average (i.e. pricey) for the area (Hayes Valley).
Service was so good! Even when busy and at capacity.
Aside from the very good food at a reasonable price, I was totally impressed by our server, David, from Puebla Mexico. Not only did he wait on several tables, he aslo was the only person in covering the bar: mixing cocktails, pouring coffee, filling orders for drinks for other servers, etc. David was an amazing, efficient, and very pleasant member of the Doppio Zero staff. D.Z. is fortunate to have him!
Wait staff was incredibly professional.
Best ravioli I've had in a long time! Came here for SF Restaurant Week and will come back!
GREAT REDO OF CAFE DELLA STELLA!
GO ITALIAN FOOD
I LOVE IT
Outdoor seating on Gough street is kind of loud. Excellent cocktails, appetizers, and desserts. Pizza was outstanding. Will definitely return.
Pre symphony dinner. Everything was great!
Service was wonderful, food pretty good -- I had the salmon, but came earlier in the day for the restaurant week lunch which was superb. Hayes St. was closed to traffic, but we got traffic noise from Gough nearby. The place was hopping. A good experience, overall.
Food is awesome. Wait staff was super busy and it took a while to place second round of drinks. But I recommend this place for their food and cocktails 100%.
Great place to go for dinner but service was slow and you had to ask servers for things they forgot to bring until the end of our meal.
The calamari was rubbery and bland. As if it was frozen before being heated up. The lasagna was good. Our server was really nice.
Doppio Zero has excellent outdoor seating and a delicious menu. Service can be a bit hit or miss depending on how busy they are, but the overall experience has always been great.
Superb dining experience with great food, wine, and atmosphere.
From beginning to end, a wonderful experience. The food is phenomenal. The service is extraordinary. We have found a new “go to”.
Very pleasant. We had an excellent waiter.
Enjoyed everything we had but we were served the starters before being served the drinks. This is like flunking Service 101!
The waiter did not put in my order. My husband’s meal came and mine did not. Very disappointing. The waiter did not apologize. We left and I didn’t get my birthday dinner. Would never go back.
Reservation was honored as soon as we arrived. We needed to make a concert so we ordered everything at once. Food came quickly and was delicious. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, broccolini and the Le Came Pizza. The sprouts and broccolini were cooked perfectly, crunchy and flavorful, and the pizza was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience!
Not rushing back although my brother-in-law loved his dish, Marechiaro. The calamari & shrimp appetizer was uneventful, and the Fungo Pizza was just tasty.
We had salad, pizza and pasta, which were pretty good but not stellar. The service was so-so but you want to give restaurants some slack during covid times. But our real problem with the restaurant was the noise level. It wasn't not crowded so they made up for it by playing extremely loud music, which made it painful to talk. You really don't want to shout in the middle of an airborne pandemic but that was what we were reduced to.
It was wonderful and all of the servers were kind courteous and had great recommendations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The Ravioli is the best ravioli I have ever had. It is so delicious I could eat multiple at one time. In fact my friend and I went back after eating there once this week b/c the ravioli was that good.
LOVED our food and this restaurant. My only complaint was that it feels way too busy and our server was occupied a lot. But the food was delicious and comforting. Highly recommend!
Great food and service was really good aside form the fact that it seemed they were very understaffed.
Favorite pizza in SF!
Fabulous food and excellent service make a trip to Doppio Zero well worth it!!
Went to Doppio Zero (Hayes Street) on Sunday (05SEP21). It's an easy walk from Davies Hall or the War Memorial so it's great for pre- or post-performance dining. We had a great meal there including shishito peppers, truffle fries and a hearts of palm salad for starters and a couple of different pastas and a Chorizo pizza with added jalapeños. Our server (don't know her name, but she was excellent) made us excellent Caffe Americanos and everything about the meal was fantastic. We wanted to have dessert, but were too full! Great value, great service and great food... highly recommended!
Delicious food and drinks. Service was a bit slow but we weren’t in a hurry so it was fine. We’d definitely go again
The food was very good, but the front of the house could be better run. We sat at an outside table, which was sticky. We asked for extra napkins to use as placemats and let our server know the table was dirty. He even touched it and agreed but didn't make a move to clean it!? One of the bread plates was also dirty and he replaced it.
Our server disappeared for very long periods of time and toward the end of our meal we had to ask another server to get him - twice.
The food was very good. We had two different pasta dishes, both excellent, and a delicious salad. The broccolini was undercooked - I suppose they prefer it that way but I could not cut it with my knife.
Pizzas are excellent!
Great food in a wonderful setting with excellent service! On a short visit from Santa Cruz, we loved everything about the meal from the delicious brussel sprout & polpettine appetizers, the tasty trecciolina salad along with our Doppio Zero white pizza & Zuppa Di Pesce! Our server, Emerald, did a fabulous job throughout. She recommended the perfect accompanying wine and gave us a generous pour of her wonderful homemade Limoncello. Thank you for a great evening - we shall definitely return!
Too crowded. Good food
Great restaurant and service!
Was sitting outside so the noise was the be expected. Looking forward to going back and trying more of this delicious food!!
I had the salmon. Originally I was thinking pizza but decided on salmon instead. I'm glad I did! It was delicious! Cooked perfectly and looked great too. My husband had the calzone. That too was delicious!
A group of friends met before the Van Gogh immersive exhibit and Doppio Zero was a great location being a short walk...and open on Monday! We were really pleasantly surprised by how tasty Doppio Zero was! All the small plates, pizzas, and pastas were delicious and they have a great selection of wine! For sure, we'll be back!
