Doppio Zero - Mountain View

Always a wonderful place to relax and enjoy! Consistent and great food. Absolutely loved the special tonight. Always recommend this spot to friends. And, they are doing a great job keeping Covid safe. Great experience!

Marcelo was a gem. Food choices were excellent. This was my first visit but not my last

Great time! My friend and I had not been out in over a year and now that we were both vaccinated Doppio Zero was our first choice. We had a reservation for an outdoor table and they let us pick. We had amazing service! The hostess dropped a glass of wine which was no big deal - no harm done, didn't spill on us or anything. We were not bothered at all, but they were so apologetic is was nice and they gave us free dessert - totally unnecessary! Oh I guess I should mention the food was great - we had bread, fried calamari, whatever wine they suggested (which they sampled to us first), I had salmon my friend had pasta and then dessert. So good!

Doppio Zero is very popular and it's easy to see why. The food is amazing and is made quickly. The only "knock" against the restaurant is that the waiter took a little bit to take our order and help us wrap up the check, but I can't blame them as it was a full house. The quality of the food and service was outstanding.

Small, but well selected wine list... reasonably priced!

My family loves coming to this restaurant. The food is consistently delicious, prices are reasonable given usual SV prices, and the servers are always attentive and warm. The outdoor dining setup during COVID is lovely and tables are adequately spaced.
We had a disappointing start to our last visit, unfortunately. We arrived 9 minutes late to our reservation. I know that restaurants do not need to honor a reservation when you show up late and have no issues with that type of policy. However, you usually are given a 15 minute grace period. In any event, they were not busy and the outdoor seating was at least half empty. When I checked in and apologized for arriving late, the hostess said “oh, I released your table. Hold on.” I was surprised and checked the time (9 mins late). She then proceeded to seat us at a table that was the worst possible one given the weather that evening (cold and windy) - outside of the tented area that had heaters inside. There were a number of other 4 seaters available under the tent. Many were empty until close to when we left. In any event, our servers were wonderful as was the food. I would ask the manager of the restaurant to speak to this hostess and share what good customer service and keeping loyal customers happy looks like. Her treatment was not it.

Loved the food and service!!! We were outside so cluod t experience the inside atmosphere. And of course outside noise level was not controllable by the restaurant.
Prices on the high side for the portions Food and service was excellent.

Excellent just a little pricey. Food was delicious though.

Great pizza with the best crust around. If you like artisan style then this is the place to check out.

Poor service, I had reservation and they give us the smallest table, also they didn’t help us to arrange the dishes or anything so my husband have to use our appetizer ‘calamari and shrimp’ as his plate! And the waiters never really waited us, no one ask us if we are ready to order or anything, but when we finished our food, they seems pretty eager to give us the check. Such a bad experience to eat here!!!! And the food wasn’t as good as the reviews, I am definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!

Lovely as usual - good food, great outdoor ambience.

I am a long time lover of the Cupertino location that closed. The food is excellent. My gripe was 2-fold: 1- We ordered the branzino special(delicious) which comes with broccolini. We asked the waitress if they offered a side of potatoes and she said, no... only the french fries. We said, ok... that will work. I thought this exchange was clear that we wanted a starch with our dinner. Next time I will be sure to specify because next thing we new, the french fries arrived as an appetizer. When I told the server we had wanted it with out meal, he just looked stressed out and perplexed so I let it go.

2- We felt rushed. When one person is finished and the other is still eating, I don't like waiters circling and offering to take the finished person's plate away.... or to start offering up desserts while one person is still eating the meal. At this point we were only 45 minutes in from being seated. The service at Cupertino was much better.

That said, I do rate their food as excellent.

Loved the last time I visited this restaurant about two weeks ago that I came back with my son and it was very good. Service was attentive the whole time we were there.

Typically enjoy this restaurant. Truffle fries were not very warm and lacked truffle. Pizza was ok but seamed hastily put together.

Had dinner Wed. nite at 6pm, served outside because of Covid. Mountain View has closed Castro Street for dining. Ambiance was somewhat lacking, but everything else was wonderful as usual. One of our favorite places to eat( we were customers in Cupertino, now closed, so Mountain View is now our go to.

Surprised! Service was impeccable and food was delicious. Not sure if they changed the kitchen staff but the food was much better than previous visits. Been there at least a dozen times and always thought the food was average. This time around it was a better experience. The appetizers was delicious, we ordered the caprese salad and brussel sprouts. He variety of entrees was delicious and freshly made and the cocktails were quite good. Dessert was just okay but that’s fine. Looking forward to going back.

Great flavor in tomato sauce base for pizza, lasagna. Excellent light homemade pasta!
Also recommend the calamari with shrimp appetizer

Birthday Dinner

It’s hard to leave a restaurant review during Covid because I think businesses are trying as best as they can. I think the ambience outside was the best part of the experience. The bussing staff was super friendly. With all the positive reviews I read, the food was just very underwhelming. I had an egg noodle crab pasta and it was limp, flavorless, oily, and super salty. The pizza was mediocre. We won’t be returning.

we had a very good time-seems like they extended the patio space and now more people can enjoy, which is great! food was very italian -the way we like it. recomnended!

Man, that Doppio Zero pizza is SOOOOO good. I love how the restaurant has pivoted for COVID-19 and is serving outdoors. We had a lovely meal, and it was so nice to get out of the house. Excellent service too!

Fantastic restaurant and definitely COVID compliant. You really need to get the pizza, the flour does make all the difference!

Good solid food at reasonable prices compare with Palo Alto, Menlo Park and San Carlos. Good pizzas and pastas. Great pizza crust - light and chewy. Fresh pasta al dente! Well executed food.

Staff is the nicest. The food is beyond. And they really make it comfortable to be out with COVID-19

The tables outdoors are too small. Couldn’t hold appetizer plate and the one pizza entree.

It left a bad impression that pizza toppings could not be customized at all. This means that the pizzas are all pre made and likely pre frozen, which would also explain why they were so soggy.

My favorite thing I always get is the Doppio zero pizza! I love that getting a fresh arugula on my pizza makes it feel a bit healthy! It was a little overcooked/burnt this time, but usually it’s not. A great starter is the brussels sprouts!
Love the outdoor, sidewalk seating!

Was so great to be back dining at Doppio Zero again. The manager and other staff all make us feel welcome and add to the pleasure of dining. The food was excellent as always.
