Dopo La Spiaggia - East Hampton
Came here with my college friends during our Hamptons "girls weekend" The food was fantastic, each of us agreed that our entrees were delicious! We ordered the burrata to start and had rigatoni, the pasta with clams, and the fried eggplant for our entrees. The ONLY part we were not 100% happy with was the portion size. We are all skinny girls, but we need to eat! All of us easily cleaned our plates, but given the price of the meals, there definitely should have been more food on our plate. The atmosphere was fun, lively, and young and we truly did enjoy our time here.
Perfect pasta !
No vegan option for our daughter. The best they could do was a Salad.
Best pasta on the south fork. Period.
A perfect place for a night out in East Hampton. Appetizers and pastas re the highlight of the menu. Friendly atmosphere. Will return!
We were so pleasantly surprised, we had a great time. We were at Dopo the year they opened in East Hampton and remember a pleasant, but not exceptional experience. This time, everything was on target. The buzz, the service, but most of all, the food. Four out of four of us, applaud the meal. Go!
Always a nice venue. Wasn't crazy about the 'special ' flat cracker. It was not how I remembered. It was quite tasteless .everything else was delicious. Thanks
To list each of the offenses committed by the waiter, the hostess, the kitchen, and I presume management who was omnipresent would be tedious. As to the East Hampton post of this restaurant avoid at all costs unless you simply have no alternative. My bar is quite low for restaurants on a peak night in the Hamptons. This group fell far below that standard, further below than any other restaurant I’ve visited in the Hamptons—and I’ve visited many, from road side Clam Bar to Jean Georges at the Topping Rose.
The waitress was very lovely however her language barrier caused issues with food and orders otherwise we loved it
Dining in the garden at Dopo La Spiaggia is a lovely experience. The food and service are very good; I just wish the noise level were a bit lower.
Had 8:00 reservation and were not seated until 8:30. The food was ok. I had gluten free pasta with sausage and peas in vodka sauce. It was not creamy enough for a vodka sauce. My husband and friend had bronzino which they enjoyed. My other friend had eggplant parmesan which was subpar. Service was very good. Very pricey.
Very nice place! Octopus appetizer and kale salad were the favorites! Will recommend to friends.
Excellent Italian food. Highly recommend it. The setting in the outdoor garden is also really nice and well worth a trip on a warm evening.
The service was poor-they may have been understaffed or inattentive????? We had to ask for a second drink four times from several different waitstaff. ...and the restaurant was not crowded. Surprise, surprise- It was finally served when we were finished with our meal.
The portions were minuscule and the prices outrageous given the limited amount of food we were served. My dinner companion, who is on strict diet, asked for whatever vegetable were being served just simply steamed to accompany her tiny piece of salmon and was informed that there were no substitutions!!!!!!
I was looking forward to a dinner here with my husband. The food was such a disappointment. The vegetable ragu over pasta was bitter and barely edible. The Chicken Milanese was mediocre at best. I’m not sure how this restaurant gets away charging the prices they do with the meals they served us. There are way too
many good restaurants in the area to ever return to this one.
Dinner portion of scallops only 3 pieces!
20 minutes for menus.
20 minutes for drinks.
Slow service and excessively noisy (even for the Hamptons on a busy night). I waited an hour for my entree and when it finally arrived, it was not what I ordered and as we had show tickets, had no time to get something else. Our server was very cordial, but management had inadequate staffing, especially in the kitchen, to accommodate the crowds.
Perfect in every way the food was Superior to every Italian Resturant in the Hamptons Massimo is an excellent chef
Great outdoor area. Food just fine. Nothing amazing for the Hamptons. Service attentive, but not much of interaction with customer. Overall- good, but not “you have to go to that place” kinda place.
Dopo La Spiaggia was amazing. We had the catch of the day and it was excellent. We asked to be seated outside and were accommodated immediately. The place was busy for a Saturday, and yet the service was great. We really had a great time and will definitely return.
Very nice place to eat both inside and in the garden
The food, however, was a bit disappointing.
I had fettuccini and meatballs a special. The pasta was hot and fresh , the meatballs were cold ! It was a small portion as well.
Very surprised to see carelessness like hot food
Overall I like the place but definitely slipping
Lovely garden setting. Excellent attentive service. Food is satisfactory but not special especially the entrees. Delicious desserts.
Some winners-tuna tartar, some pretty good - polpette , eggplant parmigiana, some disappointing- rigatoni and cavatelli lacking in flavor
Guys, the food's just not very good. This is my 5th visit. You all are super nice but the only reason we came back was because you had space and we were reserving late. There were 6 of us and nobody really enjoyed the food. Sorry to spoil the fun.
Really bad and tasteless food. Would not recommend. Inexperienced staff who need training. Horrible food. Would not recommend.
The service was terrible. Everything started out fine but about half way through the meal the service started to deteriorate and by the end it fell apart. An otherwise delicious meal was negatively affected by this.
Terrific! Food so yummy!!!
Food and service was good but the price of the meal was very high
The food was good but service was way too fast. Expensive dinner for four that was finished in a little over an hour. Price of appetizers was ridiculous.
This is our favorite restaurant in the Hamptons. The food was exquisite! As we sat at the bar, the bartender was totally entertaining & made great drinks! However, the experience was marred by a male waiter with black glasses, who was inattentive.
Great outdoor dining
Meghan is a great hostess
Have been there several times and keep going back
Only negative - expensive appetizers
Sorry to say, though the atmosphere was wonderful, the food was mediocre. Drinks and dessert were the best part of meal.
Horrible dining experience. Waited 40 minutes to be seated with a reservation. Don’t mind spending the money when the service and food deliver....this place consistently fails to deliver. Apps were great everything else was mediocre. Pasta over cooked severely, fish special was less than special. Tasteless. By the time we could get salt and lemon everything was cold. This restaurant is more concerned about filling seats than quality food and service. Very nicely explained to hostess who had an opportunity to offer some small gesture for next time.. but no luck. Conclusion.......if you want good food and service this is not the place.
Lovely outdoor dining area. Evening was ruined by the completely indifferent and mediocre service received and the rushed meal.
Great outdoor space
Beautiful restaurant. Outdoor area really nice. Food terrible. Quality of the meat and fish was poor, accompaniment to entrees almost non existent (hunk of romaine, undressed arugula, hit house tomatoes (in the Hamptons!). Grossly overpriced. We left feeling angry and ripped off.
Valet parking is ridiculous and totally unnecessary
Enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The service was amazing. Thanks to Gilbere. Food was excellent. I had the rigatoni dish. The cocktails were also wonderful. Overall, loved it!
We went to Dopo Sag not East Hampton it was very good as it always was when it was Tutto Giorno Only the food is better than Tutto Giorno is now
