The dinner was delicious but pricey for what you get. The atmosphere was nice, the waitress said they would turn in to a club around 10:30 and they would move all the tables on the floor out of the way. We stayed to 11 and they hadn't moved the tables yet. The music was ok.
We had a good time.
Don’t Tell really gets hopping around 8:30-9pm so go later if you want to see more acts/entertainment. It’s a fun and unique experience that everyone (adults) will enjoy!
Good atmosphere, eclectic vibe.. good food and drinks..nice place for an intimate date or bring the whole crew..good energy.
The worst management ever!
If you’re going for a show, make sure you get sat on the first floor, where the stage is. You cannot see anything at all from upstairs. I was told by the manager not to make my reservation on Open Table cause you will get sat upstairs. Mind you I attempted to email twice for a reservation and price as soon as I saw the event made on Facebook with my phone number and NO ONE got back to me!!!! Which is why I ended up having to go through open table. He was very argumentative and not helpful at all. I took my mom and sister. Our bill for brunch (6 people) was $310 after the tip (that was included) and we didn’t see ANY OF THE SHOW AT ALL. But it’s our fault cause we booked on Open Table. And the food was terrible (bar food) and the service is slow. We all got our food at different times. I would never recommend it. Just go to the Rose Room.
Went to the DTSC to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. If you haven't been here it offers a change of pace from your typical upscale steak houses or other restaurants. Throughout the night, DTSC offers live entertainment - akin to an old time Vegas Revue, featuring several acts- be it magic, acobats, etc.
Service was prompt and friendly. Food and appetizers are reasonably priced and very flavorful. Entrees were all very good. Steak was originally overdone and management addressed immediately and handled very professionally. Will definitely be back.
Only negative was that we were seated upstairs with out a full view of the show on stage. Booked on Open Table and did not request to be on the main floor- so it is worth the request if you decide to go. Don't expect to go here for a quiet intimate dinner... If you like a lively, vibrate atmosphere and good food- this is the place for you. Great for celebrations or if you want to do something out of the ordinary.
Went on a date night with my boyfriend. He is from Europe, so he really appreciated the live and interactive show. We went on a Friday most everyone was mid 30s-40s either on a date night or in a special occasion group. The menu is limited and mostly seafood. The staff was very accommodating and well mannered. I would go again for drinks and dancing, but not sure I would eat dinner here again. Overall, good experience.
The food was AMAZING! The acts were great as well. I’m not sure about other people but I read the reviews prior to going and some people gave negative or not so nice reviews. So to those who rely on information like that please DONT ! There is no way they were reviewing the establishment I think they were having a bad or off day. It’s quaint and intimate. I liked it !
DTSC is a unique experience. We went there for a birthday dinner.
The good: Server was great, engaging, attentive. The few acts we saw were entertaining and fit the ambiance of the place. They also engaged with the crowd and made the experience a little more interactive. We only ordered two appetizers and a few drinks. The food was tasty and as others have mentioned smaller portions. The drinks were interesting. Parking is $5 valet but you can park yourself if you wish.
The disappointing: I booked through open table which only showed reservation times before 7 pm or after 9. Ironically we booked at 6:30 and the place was pretty empty until 7:15 or so. Even until about 8:30 the downstairs was only half full. Not sure why open table was so limited. If you go, I would not book until after 8 pm or you will have limited entertainment and limited crowd. The menu needs to be expanded. All prices are a little high but the quality was good. With a small crowd the manager never came around and thanked us for coming. I would recommend interaction when there is absolutely time to do so. No acknowledgement of our birthday celebration even though we were asked if there was a special occasion.
Summary: This place has a great setting and ambiance. It is unique and has good potential for a fun night. The food was good but limited and pricey. Drinks are what I expected. Service was excellent.
Being from Chicago, where these types of places thrive, there needs to be more management engagement. I watched what appeared to be the manager just stand around. There is no cost in making guests feel special. Go late, not early and be prepared to drop $75+ per person if you stay your allotted 2 hours.
Decided to finally check out DTSC with a friend of mine that was visiting from out of town. When we first walked in we were greeted by the manager, I think his name was Sam. But he made sure everything went smoothly with our reservation. My friend really seemed to enjoy the ambience and the Cirque performances of the night. Our waitress was a pretty girl named Lulu who made sure our experience was a good one. She was friendly and gave us some good menu recommendations. Smoked hamachi sashimi, Steak frites, the contortionist and pomegranate cheesecake were all good. Great overall night.
Food was overpriced for what you get. Service is poor and entertainment was not entertaining
I made this reservation after a friend recommended it and ended up very disappointed. The entertainment was awful.. an elderly gentleman that sang karaoke style songs from the Sinatra days terriblyoff key. He was a sweet old man but his singing was not his strong suit and fell getting back on stage. The manager was kind about it and said he was a new act for them but and didn’t charge us the “show charge” but that tells me they don’t vet their entertainers prior to putting them on stage. The food was fair at meat and the deviled eggs with crab meat left MUCH to be desired. Maybe just an off night for this establishment but we will not be returning.
Worst place to get full and a buzz. Drinks watered down menu said SHAREABLE items , No not at all. There was 12 of us celebrating my birthday we all spent over 100.00 or more and we left and went to eat somewhere else.
Made a reservation through Open Table for 8p and they called to tell me they only take 7 and 8:30. I felt 8:30 was too late at the time and they said they would make an exception. Come arrival, they smash 6 of us at a round booth made for 4 upstairs where no one else was and you couldn’t see any entertainment taking place on the downstairs level. Food was okay, but way overpriced. Drink wasn’t much better. Come check, they tried to charge us $5 per person for “entertainment fee”, which we had removed since there was none for our table. There are so many amazing restaurants in Dallas, don’t waste your $$.
The entertainment was great but the service was very unacceptable. We all order our food at the same time but got it at least 30mins apart from each other and we was sitting at the same table. It was my husband bday and our first time being there. Very poor service.
The food was good however the service was not great. An appetizer that we ordered never arrived only to be told that it wasn't available after our entrees came. So of entrees came out at different times, so that dinner people at our table were almost finished eating by the time others just received their dish. Side dishes came out well after the entrees were served. Also there was a $5 entertainment charge per person even though we were seated at a table where no one could actually see the entertainment. The last straw was when our bills included a gratuity charge even although our party only had 5 people. It was only after we questioned it that the waitress corrected it and said we weren't supposed to be charged gratuity. The concept an atmosphere was good but the service needs improvement.
Great place, very unique and fun. Like nothing else so it makes the occasion special.. love it each time i go.
Great environment! If you want to dine, come around 8.30 the food is absolutely amazing! Small plates with fine food, short live shows and later great dance bar vibes!
The only downside to me was that there are not many vegetarian options but overall I was so impressed (the unusual tea cocktail was a hit!)
Super recommended (and we came from a long distance yall)
I was excited to try this place! I was excited to see performers. We had 5 people in our party. We ordered what we thought would be plenty of food. Four appetizers, a meal for each of us, 2 sides, and 2 desserts. I was still hungry when we left. Portions were too small. I feel like we were rushed out of the place. All that food and they essentially pushed us out in an hour. The performers were great except for the dancers. I assumed they would be something different than just “club dancers”. The place wants to have a speakeasy feel, but the music and dancers belonged in more of a club atmosphere.
Service started off poorly. Sat at the bar for over 20mins before 1 of the 5 bartenders acknowledge my date or I. They seemed to be more into themselves than taking care of the customers. Finally after getting one of the young ladies attention from the mirror, we were able to order. I expressed my disappointment and from that point on, service became better. The food quality/portion to cost wasn't the best. For the price you pay, as a Chef myself, I would expect better! The entertainment and interacting with the other guess was the best part of the night. Unless this establishment improves their customer service , I definitely can't see myself recommending them to anyone.
I booked through Open Table for Saturday May 26th. In my booking, I specifically requested a standard seat. Upon arriving to the venue for my reservation, I was informed that they had no knowledge of my standard seating request (although you literally have to select an option through Open Table), and was escorted upstairs. On the way upstairs, I was assured I had a nice location that overlooked the entertainment. When we arrived upstairs, the hostess informed us that it appeared our table had been given away as her coworker had utilized the iPad and failed to update the seating chart. Very unprofessional. Even worse, my guest and I excused ourselves to use the bathroom; when we came back, the hostess was no where to be found. We waited 10 minutes to no avail; finally, we left. It seems like a nice ambience, but the booking/reservation process really ruined a surprise night I had planned for an out of town guest.
We had a group of 8 people for dinner. Apparently, there is a 2 hour limit for each reservation that we were not made aware of until about an hour and a half into our dinner. Although we arrived on time for our reservation and promptly ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees our waitress told us that we would need to eat quickly and leave BEFORE our entrees even came out.... naturally, we were confused because again, we didn’t even have food yet and we ordered every time our waitress came around, not once did we dilly dally or ask for more time with the menu.
Our waitress also had the Manager come by our table and he rudely told us we would need to eat our food quickly when it came out and leave so they could turn over the table. After I explained everything to him, he eventually apologized for the situation but that was after a long conversation which ruined our dinner anyway.
As a group of people who spent over $100 each, I can’t believe how disrespectfully we were treated. It’s honestly a shame because we were really enjoying everything leading up to that.
Jessica took great care of our table.
Food was good.. but kinda Pricey(especially The steak) Service on Point/appetizers great. Only thing they should let you know when making reservations there is a 2 hour limit.. which I guess is fine. But I want quite ready to leave. But no reason to stick around, no stools to sit. Only tables. And the shows are good;-) Sad I missed seeing a friend perform (Frank) but maybe next time!
Good experience but we had to be waited to be seated. It was unorganized. At first was sitting in a section that was horrible but then moved my party of 3 to a better section.
The entertainment was awesome, several 5 to 7 minute acts. Had a funny juggler/magician stop by our table for some up close and personal entertaining, he was fun and personable with a great on stage juggling act a little later, the Burlesque dancer was awesome, the Fire eating performer was great as well, the lady that did acrobatic routines in air with a hoop and fabric hanging from the ceiling - she was amazing! Food was yummy, drinks were good, the Hot Secret and the Contortionist were very tasty drinks. Service was slow but ok - they say give yourself about 2 hours for dinner which was spot on... We sat upstairs against the rail in front of the Bar... Other than the group of 20somethings that we’re hanging at the bar then felt like they could use our dinner table as a place to set their drinks and crowd around us trying to get to the railing to see the various shows while we watched and ate dinner.... we had really good time. Price - 1 entree (we split the salmon and veggie risotto- yum!) /2 veggie sides (broccolini and truffle fries - both very good) / 4 cocktails / 1 dessert (the chocolate chip bread pudding fabulous while sipping the Serra Madre drink) and the $5 per place entertainment fee... $150 including tip. Great place when you want something more than just dinner!!
We were extremely disappointed by the rudeness of the manager and the “false” advertising. We were told we would be seeing a show with dinner but were seated at a table where we couldn’t even see the stage. These reservations were made 1 month in advance and we got a horrible table. At the end of the night they also charged us $5/person for the show we couldn’t see. Open table should note this when making reservations that you automatically get charged for being there. I asked to speak to manager Sam and he was extremely rude and dismissive. At the very least we should not have been charged. We will never be going here again! Food was not great either and service was very slow.
We celebrated my sons 25th Birthday with a group of his friends and our family. The food, atmosphere and entertainment was great. Everyone had so much fun and a wonderful time and are still talking about the night!
Good food, really slow service. It took 2 hrs to get out meal. Don't sit upstairs , its really hard to see. They moved our reservation from 7 to 8:45
Super fun concept! Food is good and servers were super nice. A few bumps along the way were made right by Manager Sam A. Go with the flow and have a great time.
We were visiting Dallas and discovered this amazing place! The entertainment was terrific! The food was delicious! Drinks were great! Highly recommend this place!
I expected More than what we got. Came in From Atlanta for a class and wanted something local and fun to do. The ambiance was very nice, food was nice, however the entertainment was lacking at best... the magician was "cute", with outdated tricks. The singer, was wonderful and rather gorgeous.... not sure about the guy and the flipping of knives... the one show we all had expected to see was put off over and over and over again.. and we never saw it and left.........Because his partner NEVER showed!! Yet we were still charged the full show fee? Not that it was expensive, but its the fact that...
I was seated at my table. No one acknowledged my existence. We had to track down a server. That didn’t work. Then we spoke to the bartender. He finally got someone to take our order. By then, the kitchen was about to close. Luckily, we managed to order the sliders and truffle fries. Those I must say, were amazing!!
Unique experience, great atmosphere, wonderful venue, food well seasoned, great drinks, service on point. Can't wait to go back! One of Dallas' best kept secret
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The only issue that perturbed me was the fact that we had a reservation for 11:15 ( we got there earlier at 10:30) but were only able to sit at our table for maybe 30mins because they remove the tables at 11. Now why does open table reflect reservations until 11:30 if we can’t be seated nor enjoy food ? Oh and the kitchen closes at 11 too. We just had a dessert and drinks ( drinks are expensive !) but the entertainment was enjoyable. We will go back but only for drinks and entertainment.
Great way to celebrate my husbands birthday!!! Peyton was an amazing waitress and the entertainment was cool!
Calamari was amazing. Loved the performances and amazing service . Definitely coming back! I totally love this place
I’ll start with the fact that I made a reservation for a DATE for 2 people. They walk me to the bar rather than any of the open tables (there were plenty by the way), which if I didn’t have a reservation would be ok or if I was just going out for drinks. Then once I was reluctantly brought to a table the real disappointment began. I have never spent so much money $250 with such bad service! It was some of the worst service I have ever paid this much for. My drinks were incorrectly rang in. My date and I ordered the same drinks all night but were charged for different ones at different time, more expensive ones for some not only were they not charged properly they took forever to come however not as long as it took for me receive and close my check that literally took 35 mins no exaggeration.
I was also charged for a show not sure that a 5 min act every 30mins counts as a show but maybe I’m wrong or maybe it was an off night. All in all just a terribly disappointing experience.
