Don's Pomeroy House Ratings and Reviews
We've been to Pomeroy House on many occasions. However, this last time, perhaps it was due to the New Years holiday, the wait staff was very distant--when you spoke to them they looked somewhere else. The staff was curt and frankly not friendly. The food was good, but if the staff behaves likes this again, we have many other choices in the same price range.
Food was awesome! It was pretty busy with bigger parties so we felt our server ignored us a little bit as we were a party of 2. Luckily we didn't require anything special but it would have been nice if we were checked on a little more. I would still recommend this restaurant highly!
Outstanding as always. The food never disappoints and the staff go out of their way to make the dining experience memorable. And of course, Don's Pomeroy is a beautiful restaurant from an ambiance perspective so when you add all the variables together, you simply can't go wrong dining here.
this is our go-to restaurant. Celebrated our 40th anniversary with out of town guests. Their first time at the restaurant. They commented that they had the best meal in a long time. they chose the Chilean Sea Bass. we were not rushed at all, the server did a very good job and was just the right amount of attentive. At the end of the meal we were presented with an eclair dessert on the house in celebration of our anniversary.
We had to return 2 items. The halibut had a bad taste to it, my wife thought it was a few days old and the used something on it to kill any bacteria.
My Cesar salad was way two salty.
We had a situation similar to this a few years ago but we thought we give it another try. To bad it’s a beautiful place
Our server was very nice. She gave us just the right amount of attention without be overly attentive or bothersome. I had the cowboy steak and it was juicy and good tasting. It had more grizzle then I would have prefered but it was good nonetheless. I also had the French Onion soup which was very good. My wife had the Sea Bass that she said was very good. We had the bread pudding which was moist and flavorful without being too rich.
Wonderful atmosphere! Menu was diverse and the food was very good. The service was disappointing considering the cost of the items and the size of our party. Waitress was not attentive to details, such as filling glasses, supplying necessary utensils, making sure all was in order. We had a special dress up occasion and expected more.
My wife and I go every year for our anniversary. And usually one other time during the year. Always well worth the price and the food is excellent. A great place to go for special occasions or just a special night out. Definitely a very special, romantic evening.
