Everything was great and our server Jerry was outstanding
We visited here for the restaurant week promotion and were very pleasantly surprised. All the options for the promotion were right off the standard menu, so if you found something you really liked you could come back and have it again. There was a nice selection of choices for the 3 course meal promotion, and everything my wife and I had was absolutely delicious. The service was very mature and graceful; our waiter always showed up gently just when we needed him. My wife chose the house salad and the sirloin steak oscar for her first two courses, and I had the stuffed mushrooms and the cajun pecan crusted tilapia for mine, and we both had the bread pudding for desert. The desert was fantastic, but everything was terrific. Best meal I've had in a restaurant in Cleveland for quite a while, and the prices are very reasonable for what you get.
The service was exceptional. Loved the food would definitely visit again..
Impressed. Its so rare to find a dressy parlor/library style setting for dining. Cuisine was delicious; one of few places I've been to that actually understood the difference between an extra rare steak and a black and blue one. Tried several of the appetizers and all were tasty. It is a little pricey, but we tried it on Cleveland restaurant week special so no complaints.
Great experience!!! I would suggest this to anyone and everyone. The food was outstanding, the service was outstanding, and the restaurant was outstanding. The only thing I would change is they deserve more than 5 stars.
Not only is the food good but also the history behind it. Had family come over 200 miles just to go to lunch then they went home. Very impressive. Must go!!
Our first time there and we celebrated our anniversary. Lovely place, quiet, great food and drink. Surprised by the complimentary dessert . Coffee and éclair was out of this world. Portions were right size for us and it wasn't over priced. We plan to return with friends.
The food was good and our server was polite and sweet but it took over an hour and a half to get our food. We had to ask for bread and refills while we waited. Good food poor service.
We came as a group of 3 friends prior to a theater event. Our server, Matthew, was extremely knowledgeable and was considerate of our time constraints. My braised ribs with risotto was mouth watering and just the right amout. I will return sometime with my husband.
We have always had great food in a beautiful setting with great service.
Chose Pomperoy House for celebration of a birthday and we were pleased with the evening. The restaurant is charming - beautifully furnished and perfect for a special occasion. Did find the noise level to be somewhat distracting - especially the music in the background. Two of our party enjoyed their meal - filet and the surf and turf were cooked to perfection and well presented. One in the party ordered the short ribs and was terribly disappointed and they were overcooked, tough and drowned in gravy. The surprise éclair to celebrate the birthday was large enough to share with all and was a special touch. Our waitress, Tammy, was exceptional ! She was informative, attentive and friendly. We would request her again.
Overall, we liked the experience and would return, as well as recommend to others.
Was great. Service was fantastic. Would go again.
Food was great. Server very polite and friendly, gave us helpful recommendation for drinks and food. Pleasant and relaxing interior.
Had birthday dinner for our son. The food was great and the service wonderful. Can’t wait for the next Birthday celebration.
Amazing and over the top for accommodating my gluten free allergy. Thank you! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening w you.
We were celebrating our friend's milestone birthday and wanted a special venue. Don's Pomeroy House fit the bill perfectly. There were five of us and we all enjoyed our meal. Food was great, service was exceptional. Our server brought our birthday girl two eclairs with candles to share with us. Highly recommend!!!
As always, we had a great meal and enjoyed excellent service.
Requested a table near the fireplace but the adjacent table had a group of women who were very loud so we got relocated to a side booth which was fine. Food was good, but the filet was a little chewy. My wife likes Pink Squirrels to drink but many places don't know how to make them. Fortunately Anna the bartender did and it was fantastic, only thing missing was the whipped cream and cherry on top. Overall an enjoyable experience.
We had a great table for our anniversary. Everyone was very attentive to making sure we had a great table for our evening. Our waitress, who we have had in the past, was as great as always!! We enjoyed every moment of our special anniversary evening.
My husband and I had a very good meal over the weekend at Don's Pomeroy House. We were also lucky enough that what we intended on getting happened to be on special that night. Our waitress had the perfect balance of checking on us without being intrusive on our special evening.
We've been here 3 times and it has always been very good. Love the food, service, and the house is very neat too.
The food was excellent. Very well cooked and was the best part of dining at Don Pomeroy's House.
Food was really amazing. Took way longer than expected to get each part of the meal.
Overall an very good meal, we had the Surf & Turf , it was cooked and presented very well , but for the price the portions were a bet on the small side. Our server was very good BUT the other servers kept bumping into the back of my chair all night. They might train their people a little better or put more space between tables.
WE LOVE DON'S!!!! excellent FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE!!! HELP IS FRIENDLY COURTEOUS AND VERY HELPFUL. CHEF ALWAYS SUPERB
We wanted to LOVE this restaurant. We have been waiting for quite some time to try our Don’s Pomeroy to have a closer option for fine dining and date nights than Pier W, Fleming’s and similar.
We just didn’t. Not at all.
Food: We had the calamari as an appetizer which was very well cooked and the sauce was perfect. My husband got the steak and lobster in which the steak was just not up to par and the lobster was average. I had the roasted chicken which was basically a soup for how much salty gravy came on top. Somewhat ruined the dish how it was all just swimming. More like a stew - and I may have mentioned salty! Dessert was their special for the evening-red velvet cheesecake. This was OK except I have NO idea why you would drench the thing in store bought chocolate syrup. It ruined anything it had going for it.
I definitely noticed that every other table got complimentary chocolate covered strawberries since it was Valentines Day and for some reason we didn’t.....which leads me to-
SERVICE: not up to snuff. When we go to fine dining restaurants we love the experience. We are tended to in adequate and appropriate time, the server creates a connection and is something that can compliment a meal perfectly. Here-definitely not. We waited quite some time to be asked about a drink. My husband ordered a beer that they mentioned they were out of, he picked an alternate and somehow the original beer arrived. The server poured it and admitted she’s never been good at pouring beers. I almost figured this place didn’t serve bread until I looked around at other tables. Finally got bread after the calamari came to the table. Ordering after being left at the table extra long also felt rushed. Slammed in all drinks, apps and dinner selections at one time. Overall everything about waiting seemed to be the theme.
I wanted to love this place, and I just didn’t. The steak wasn’t as good as other places, my chicken was not great and the service was not even close to expectations
Accommodated a change in party number easily. Server was fantastic. Food was great-significant seafood selection. Great appetizers. Dessert was fantastic too!
The Pomeroy House never disappoints. I have been going here for years for special occasions and family celebrations. The main dining room is sublime and the Pub is great for craft cocktails and lively conversations or a romantic dinner in one of the cozy booths. The food is excellent and the prices match that quality. Highly recommend!
Best meal I’ve ever eaten. This is what fine dining is supposed to be. Great quality food for a reasonable price for a special occasion. Will definitely return.
Brought my husband here for his birthday, thy greeted us at the door and wished him a happy birthday! The server was nothing short of amazing, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was inviting. I definitely give this place 5+ stars. Thank you for making our experience great!
The environment was very energetic on a Saturday night, but was not too much. The entire staff treated us fantastically. The hosts gave us a wonderful booth and the server was nothing but friendly and helpful. The food was delightful, from the bread to the entree to the dessert everything was very yummy and was reasonably priced for the food that you received. I would definitely come here again or recommend it to others.
Food was terrific! Our server, Mary K, was fantastic!
A really nice experience with great service.
Wonderful Victorian atmosphere. We only go on special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays. Would recommend to anyone to go to Don's.
Always excellent! Good Food! Pleasant atmosphere! A little pricey, but
it is a higher class restaurant.
We always enjoy this restaurant...it’s a great treat to enjoy a meal there. The service is impeccable and the ambiance lovely. We ran into 4 friends...on a Sunday evening!
My husband and I had a delicious meal and great service. The dining room is tastefully decorated and we are definitely going to return.
Excellent services by Gabby, great meal.
Pomeroy never fails to provide a great dining experience. Upscale comfort and cuisine without being snobby
